SAMBA TO DEATH - DIANNA DIVERNO - PREFACE
The work of literature that indeed sounds like samba is wrapped in a cover of spectacular literature on a motorcycle. This is another piece of art in a series of literary masterpieces by Dianna Diverno. Seemingly unusual, different, telling a story that follows an avant-garde group of bikers that ravage the famous Wild West of the American states. Various stages of behavior interweave through feelings and thoughts of the main protagonist of this adventurous reading – from triumphal to remorseful, from calm and timid to extremely combative. Following the path that has already been paved in the famous Wild West by heroes such as the Headless Rider or more recent Ghost Rider, we can recognize the thread that the author has been trying to incorporate into this work which emanates quality and above all, like Brazilian samba, impressiveness.
It is a work with an interesting and developed plot in which you can feel the author´s influence being strong and powerful; the work that only slightly considers some historical facts that interweave through the narrative structure, and which indeed represent Wild West in a famous and recognizable way in which no material facts play the crucial role. The dimensional frames of the novel Samba do Death reach different proportions, first of all the literature is presented in a funny and film-adaptive way, therefore making this novel available to every reader, and the interpretation itself has proved that Dianna Diverno again and again follows the path of the world literature.
Whether she tries to catch the flow of reality in this region or the novel´s area in Arizona and Nevada and Texas, we can feel again that the author has managed in another literary attempt to present herself this time in somewhat different and modified fashion.
The horizon of expectations of the readers who faithfully follow the protagonist´s life through the story that exudes extreme tension is at the very end slightly unmet, but Dianna as in many other novels so far enjoys to emphasize her already traditional tendency to cherishing the open ending.
