Xhorse MLB-Tool Adapter is used for the data acquisition of keys for Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, Lamborghini, Bentley, and other MLB models, and can be used with VVDI2, Key Tool Plus, and other professional tools to make keys, add keys, and program keys (For the types of keys supported for programming, please refer to the relevant help terms of the special software).

Next, let's see how it works with VVDI2 and Key Tool Plus.

1. Use KEYTOOL PLUS

Step 1: First make sure the KEYTOOL PLUS is not connected to the OBD cable, then plug the MLB-TOOL adapter connected USB cable into the OTG data adapter, and plug the TYPE-C end of the OTG data adapter into the KEYTOOL PLUS TYPE-C USB port. Put the original car key in the MLB device sensing area to identify the original key.

Step 2: Please follow the software's help tips to confirm that the key is a supportable type for the device, then remove the shell of the original key, take out the original key PCB, and refer to the software's operating
instructions to perform the relevant welding operation. After the welding operation is completed, plug the welding harness into the corresponding port of the MLB-TOOL adapter, and at the same time, put the key flat in the center of the device's sensing area.

Step 3: Select the [Key Data Acquisition] function in the MLB-TOOL adapter software to acquire and calculate data online.

Step 4: After the calculation data is completed, the dealer key can be generated (if you need to use the original vehicle ID, please read the vehicle information to get the ID first, and then use the [Modify Key ID] function to operate).

Step 5: Program New Key.

2. Use with VVDI2

Step 1: Connect the MLB-TOOL adapter to the PC via USB cable (no need for OTG data adapter), put the original key in the MLB device sensing area, and run the MLB software. Put the original key in the MLB device sensing area to identify the original key.


Step 2: Please follow the software's help tips to confirm that the key is a supportable type for the device, then remove the shell of the original key, take out the original key PCB, and refer to the software's operating
instructions to perform the relevant welding operation. After the welding operation is completed, plug the welding harness into the corresponding port of the MLB-TOOL adapter, and at the same time, put the key flat in the center of the device's sensing area.

Step 3: Select the [Key Data Acquisition] function in the MLB-TOOL adapter software to acquire and calculate data online.

Step 4: Enter the MLB menu of VVDI2 software (Main Menu->Key Programming->MLB Key Programming), generate a dealer key (if you need to use the original key ID, first read the vehicle information to get the ID, and then use the [Modify Key ID function]).

Today I'm gonna show how to decode encrypted 2018 VW Golf MQB D70F3532 immo data with Xhorse Multi-Prog + VVDI2 programmer. Before decryption, I'll use the Xhorse MQB48 Adapter to get data without soldering at first.

Step1. Get Encrypted Data File
1) Disassemble the MQB module from the vehicle. Plug XDNP83 solderless adapter into the MQB board, then connect to Multi-Prog.
2) Open Multi-PROG software to read & save immo data. Be noted the data is locked.

Step2. Decode Encrypted IMMO
1) Disconnect and connect to VVDI2.
2) Open VVDI2 software, VW >> Key Learn >> MQB platform instrument immobilizer >> Instrument with locked NEC35xx(MQB48, VDO) >> Load file(saved in step1) >> Decode immo data >> Yes >> Selected the saved file

Now the new MQB48 file was unlocked.

Step1. Read & save VVDI MLB Immo Data
In this step, we can get its VIN and key information with the Xhorse MLB Tool.



Step2. Program Key
Follow the prompts to operate:
Number of learned/ total number of learning keys: 1/2
Please keep the key 2 close to sensing coil, then click OK

Warning: before learning is completed, please do not turn off the ignition
(Do not press the start button)!!!

The matching is completed!

Please take the device out of the car and test whether the key's intelligent function is normal, otherwise interference may occur.

Test the new key, it can normally work.
Perfect done.

This tutorial is on adding a 2015 Buick GL8 smart key with Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus. Prepare a working key and XM38 Smart Key. Let's get started.

1. Generate Key
Put the new key into the VVDI Key Tool Plus key slot.
Remote program >> All brands >> Buick >> GL8 >> GL8 ID46 button type 2 >> Generate
Generation is successful.

Now the smart key has been generated.

2. Read Pin Code
Immo programming >> All brands >> Buick >> Read PIN code >> Type3 (BCM) >> Start programming >> Read PIN code

For the mechanical key, please switch the ignition off and remove the key, then insert the key and switch the ignition on!
For the smart key, please click the start button once.
Click "Yes".
Click "OK" to confirm VIN.
Password has been read out: 1610.
Note:
1. Please take a photo to record this password, do not read the password continuously, otherwise the password cannot be read normally!
2. After reading the password, it may cause the vehicle state error and other function communication to fail and need to power off.


3. Add Smart Key
Buick >> China >> GL8 >> 2011-2017 >> Smart key programming >> Start programming >> Smart key adding
Please turn on the ignition switch(Don't brake, press the start button and hold it for about 8s, until the instrument is lit completely).
Please put the working key in position, and push the button to start the vehicle.
Click "OK" to continue.
Put the new key in the key slot.
Click "OK".

The system saves 5 keys, whether to add a key? Yes
Please enter 4-digit password: 1610
It's performing the requested operation but still needs to wait 9 minutes...
Please click the start button.
The current key was programmed successfully!
