Fixed: Xhorse VVDI2 Reads BMW Motorcycle 8A Data Failed!

14.03.2023.

Problem: The Xhorse VVDI2 was unable to program BMW motorcycle 8A key learn. It always said:
"Reading data failed! Attention: make dealer key require unlock X_SLZ/X_EW first! Warning: coding was lost!!!"

And it was interrupted while trying to unlock X_SLZ/X_EWS:
"Target unit doesn't response, or response error command! Error:7F 10 12"

What's the problem? Please advice.

Solution
In this case, it's suggested to do coding with VVDI BMW BIMTool Pro Tool again. Then the problem will be solved.

How to use Xhorse Remote Tester V2

Xhorse XDRT20 remote tester is compact and cost-effective, easy to carry. It can support IMMO signal and door handle signal test, IR test and support frequency test including 315MHz, 433MHz, 868MHz and 902MHz.

This article will show you how to use this Remote Tester to perform these functions.

When you bring the tester close to the door handle or ignition coil, you will see the IMMO light flash and you will hear the beep.

And when you place a remote close to the Remote Tester, it will stop flashing.

The common frequencies detected by the device are shown below.

We have a 315 MHz remote.
You can see that this light flashes when the frequencies are in the range of 305 MHz to 320 MHz.

Followed by 433 MHz.
And this light will activate when the frequencies are between 430MHz and 436MHz.

And now we detect 868 MHz and 902 MHz.

This area is for IR signal detection.
The light turns on when it receives the infrared signal.

Xhorse APP "Image verification code is error"

Solution: It prompts "image verification error", so you must enter the correct code, as shown in your screenshot, you must enter verification code "22" instead of "23-1="

Xhorse Key Tool Plus Program 2020 LR AKL by OBD, Possible?

Can Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus program 2020 Land Rover Range Rover all keys lost by OBD? The answer is yes. There are 2 types of 2018- Land Rover keys to support:

Type1. Low-spec version key for few models, supports to perform key adding or all keys lost by OBD directly (copy key info by OBD, only support VVDI Key).

Type2. High version key for most models, need to program RFA with VVDI Key Tool Plus after new chip replacement(change RFA function).

How to distinguish 2018- Land Rover key type?
1.Try type1 first then type2.
2.If none of the above is supported, it indicates that the key is not supported at present.

What kind of key can program 2018- Land Rover?
VVDI key(coming soon) or any other special key.

Why to change car configuration function?
Most common master keys including VVDI remote are non-UWB keys. It may cause abnormal smart functions if programming them to a high version car directly. By closing the original UWB function to change car configuration, these keys can be used normally.
