Xhorse VVDI Prog software installation tutorial

This article will guide you on how to install Xhorse VVDI Prog software, taking the latest version V5.2.0 as an example.

Step 1. Click the link below to download.

Step 2. Enter the password 123456 to open the file, then select "unzip" to unzip it to your desktop or other disk on your computer.

Note: Please turn off the anti-virus software on your computer before unzipping. If your computer system is Win10 or above, you need to turn off the real-time protection in the anti-virus software that comes with the system.

Step 3. After decompression is complete, open the "VVDIProg5.2.0" file, select "VVDIProg.5.2.0.exe" and double-click to open it.

Xhorse VVDI PROG Clone Mercedes SLK R171 EIS W211

Xhorse VVDI PROG is able to read & write Mercedes Benz SLK R171 EIS W211 easily. Need to remove original EIS module from vehicle and prepare a new or second-hand module to clone. Following I'm gonna show how to do.

Open VVDI PROG to check connection diagram:
Type: 4-IMMOBILIZER
Brand: BENZ
Chip: EIZ-W211(ST12)

For soldering method: connect with MC9S12 Reflash Cable.
For solder-free method: connect to Benz W211 ST12 EZS Adapter.

Step1. Backup EEPROM & FLASH
Connect VVDI PROG to original EIS.
Read EEPROM...
Operation success.
Save EEPROM.

Read FLASH...
Save FLASH data file.

Step2. Write to New Module
Connect VVDI PROG to a new module.
Open original EEPROM file, click "Write"...
Open original FLASH file, click "Write"...
Just wait until completed.

Install the cloned module back on vehicle for a test.
It can work.
Done.

How to use Xhorse VVDI PROG to repair BMW Mini Cooper FRM3 XEQ384? This is a quick guide on bench to show how it works. Need to solder wires with MC9S12 Reflash Cable.

Preparation
Remove FRM3 module from vehicle.

Open VVDI PROG software to select options:
Type: 8-OTHER
Brand: BMW
Chip: FRM-E-SERIES-XEQ384

To check wiring connection, click "Connection diagram".
Solder MC9S12 Cable to FRM3 according to instruction, and connect to VVDI PROG.

Read & Save Data
Change VVDI PROG software options:
Type: 2-MCU
Brand: MOTOROLA-MC9S12
Chip: MC9S12XEQ384_UNSECURED

Click "Read ID".
ID: C482
Click "New >> Read >> Yes >> OK".
Operation success.
Save D-FLASH file.
Write D-FLASH to new EEPROM.

Write Data
Select back
Type: 8-OTHER
Brand: BMW
Chip: FRM-E-SERIES-XEQ384

Click "Read ID".
ID: C482
Click "Write Partition >> Yes >> EEE: 16, OK".
Operation success.

Click "Open" to load new EEPROM.
Click "Write >> Yes".
Writing success.
