12.2017 XDOS Activation: via Startkeycenter
This is the Startkeycenter I used to activate 12.2017 Xdos with old keys. Move the folder to C:>PROGRAM FILES(x86)>MERCEDES BENZ. Launch startkeycenter from folder. Insert keys for xentry only. For DAS you should move the LIC.SLI file to C:PROGRAM FILES(x86)>MERCEDES BENZ>DAS>BIN which will activate it with no timeout. Blacklist is self explanatory which folders they should go in. I don't claim any of this files......

Also No problem with old keys. Xdos 12.2017 installed and activated ...Fully working..... I even did a transmission program and scn coding on a 221. For old keys all you need is a modified startkey center folder. Copy toC:Program Files (x86)Mercedes-Benz. After key installation you can erase folder. Of course you will need 2221-45 and 3.91 error fix, Das timeout fix and blacklist.

Which one is better Lonsdor k518ISE or obdstar X300 DP (key master DP)?
Today we share the difference between Lonsdor k518ISE Key Programmer and obdstar X300 DP (key master DP)

obdstar X300 DP (key master DP) feedback: I have the Key Master and its Ok works 50% of the time and the rest it fails to communicate.
Lonsdor K518ISE Key programmer vehicle coverage has no feedback yet, this one looks interesting but only time will tell. From what you’ve read, you will find this Lonsdor k518ISE is a little better than AVDI for a lot less the money. It is also twice the money of OBDStar X300 DP and Xtool tablets.
It claims to work on Volvo, LR, BMW FEM and CAS4, VAG IMMO5, etc…
There are some videos on the most used European cars from Ford, PSA, Fiat, Opel, VAG, Renault…as well as American cars, Asian cars etc, judging from CI600 reputation K518ISE should work.

Purpose: Program new keys to Renault cars (when all keys are lost)
You need:
tools to disassemble the anti-theft/immo box
VVDI-Prog to read EEPROM data
Lonsdor K518ISE Programmer to program keys
THE MOST IMPORTANT NOTE:
1you can directly program a new key to pre-2010 Koleos;
For post-2011 Renault models, you need disassemble the anti-theft box to first read the backup EEPROM data, then program keys (when all keys are lost)
2"Anti-theft system 2" generally only for Koleos.
if it fails, go to "anti-theft system 1"for cars before the 2010 year (password advice:first select Group 4)
"Anti-theft system 1": for other Renault models
Incorrect password:
If the password is wrong, please turn on the ignition and wait for 1 minute or so to try another group of password again. The error message is "login failed" or "system does not support login operation".
3 Megane password advice:first select Group 2;
4 Load.bin file into Lonsdor K518ISE:
use the USB cable to connect the K518ISEand the computer, find out and open internal memory of the K518ISE device , put the.bin file in the the folder "customfile" .
NOTE: .the bin file suffix "bin" must be lowercase;
the file directly into the folder (DO NOT create a new folder)
How to do:
Part 1: match the smart card
1 press the start button, open the driver door;
2 the system tries to get the password
if the model can be read out, please select the password. If the vehicle password cannot be recognized, please read EEPROMdata and put it into Lonsdor K518ISE. Then do as follows:
` with the USB cable to connect Lonsdor K518ISE programmer to the computer, the computer will display K518 host internal storage;
a copy the .bin (lowercase) file of CPU data to the Lonsdor K518ISEhost's customfile directory;
b return to the smart card match operation, select the import file for secret read.
3 insert the smart key need to match . the first key match is completed; please follow the pop-up to continue to match another keys;
4 remove the smart key if you do not continue to match keys
Renault key programming is complete.

Step 2:VVDI Prog read EEPROM data

You will see “customfile” folder on K518 software

Re-install BCM from car
Connect Lonsdor K518 key programmer with vehicle via diagnostic socket

Lonsdor K518ISE shows unable to identify pin code automatically.

Part 1: GM MDI or Tech 2
Tech 2 scan tool has become obsolete for shop use as of late. It still has a lot of capability and will do anything you need for the older platforms but it needs the CANdi module to work with any of the new stuff. The MDI is a 1 shot deal for all the newer PCMs and will still work on the older stuff too. I sold my Tech 2 and bought an MDI last year, haven't missed the Tech 2 since. Then again I've got a Genysis scanner I use for all my typical diagnostics & probing.
However, the MDI requires a GM log-in with monthly access to GM's website. That's it's only draw back for the enthusiast who wants a GM caliber scanner. The Tech 2 can be updated within itself and doesn't require the internet, the MDI does.
If you're running a shop, get an MDI. For the garage warrior or enthusiast, get a Tech 2. Just don't fall for these $350 pieces of garbage.
You can say that, Tech2win is a pain the the butt. It never updates security correctly for the 30 day window and that using GM computers and login info. The tech 2 is great for code reading, viewing data. The MDI is pretty much only used for programming but its needs on certain 10+ platforms and all 15+ to view data through GDS. All MDI functions require a GM subscription.
Part 2: Tech 2 original or clone?
First, How to find the original or fake.
It is very simple. The first thing I look, it's the memory card slot, open it up and look at the cover, if you see the stamp of the body exactly original. Next, the original at all wires and Candy use aluminum. As different numbers on the back cover, the photo you will see the difference. Sometimes it comes and all labels need to glue yourself.
Second, worth to have a Tech 2 China clone?
In short, that is a nice piece of equipment to have, very nice!
Aside from working beautifully with OBD2, the tech2 is the scanner for GM OBD1 to use. with the right software (plug in chips like nintendo cartridges) it’ll do some daewoo/suzuki, GM medium duty (meaning bigger than 3500 using non automotive OBD2 standards), and other in the GMdistant family tree too.
In addition to codes (P0000-P0999) It’ll do all the proprietary GM codes (P1xxx), actuators, and systems. you can also view fuel trims, emissions readyness (beyond a green LED for all OK) and It’ll talk to ALL the modules rather than just the ECM (and if you get into the $250+scanners, ABS) like BCM, SIR, entertainment, EVERYTHING on a GM. At school I used one with a 91+ cartridge on my 87 S10, so going back further is hit or miss but posible.
To adjust shift points and fuel consumptiona and Speedo, forget it.
The TECH2 can’t do any sort of modding/tuning, only upload GM flashes. At least with legitimate software. I’m sure someone has custom software to do it but there are easier ways nowadays.
Is it worth if you just want to read/clear codes on your own car once in a while, heck no. If you’re doing a lot of work on GMs or want to get a lot more in depth with your car, it’s worth the money.
No comment on China knockoff quality, I mean a working tech2, Chinese made or not.

First, what’s the difference?
This is a chart of GM Multiple diagnostic interface comparison: GM MDI 1 vs. GM MDI 2 kit.
Therefore, it’s easy to find that the GM MDI 2 multiple diagnostic interface only improves in hardware design and running speed.
But the price ($12000) of MDI 2 is 4 or 6 times as MDI 1 ($150-$300).
So, no matter it’s used for DIY fun or professional repair work, a GM MDI clone of high quality is definitely no issues. Note that there are different versions of GM MDI china clone; and the quality may vary coz they are produced in different factory, especially PCB design. And it would result in various prices. But you will get what you pay for.

The MDI came ready to use with the software installed. It worked since I already had Tech2Win, GDS2 and GM MDI Manager installed on my laptop. It works extremely well and I have no problems with it. The product image at the time I order showed the cable keeper, A/C 12 volt adapter and multiple diagnostic interface user’s guide CD which is used to install the MDI manager software on your laptop. These items were not included. It also said it was Wifi but did not come with a wireless card but with a wireless interface instead. There are two versions of GM MDI interface on China market, cheaper MDI less than US$180 with only USB connection and the other more expensive with wifi wireless connection.
The product would work excellent if you had the MDI manager software already on your laptop.
My device tested with many cars for 4 months.

Added a wireless card to that one too, same flawless performance.. Only issue for me is that they all have the same serial number.. So using 2 of them in the same shop with wireless would be impossible..
compared boards from a genuine to this clone, almost identical.. multiple layer pcbs, same tracers, didn’t see any difference except the board labeling was missing on the clone.
Wifi GM mdi good, interface works online. update mdi 100%. offline not that good for new cars.
Nissan Consult III Plus Ver.46.30 works on MDI interface as well (this is not tested by me, your are on your risk).

How to Use CGDI PROG BMW program F31 smart key FEM

(this tool supports key matching and new key programming (when all keys are lost) of BMW CAS1, CAS2, CAS3, CAS3+, FEM, BDC)
The procedure:
Run CGDI PROG BMW software after finish all connection
Go to FEM/BDC key match
The current FEM BDC needs update the ECU program before performing key matching. Please ensure that the car battery has enough power. The programming process, please keep the equipment cable connection
Please remove the FEM BDC and then use the programmer to read and save data from the 95XXX EEPROM chip on FEM BDC computer board
Read the original car EEPROM data file

Lonsdor K518ISE Key Programmer help file basically includes 4 parts: Function, Operation, Attention, and Reference.
Function
1. Add key: please first make sure if the key is a new unused one;
2. All keys lost:please first make sure if the key is a new unused one;
3. Read CEM security data: dismantle & read CEM to backup security data (make sure to backup security data before programming);
4. Key identification and unlocking: to identify if the key is a new unused one. If the remote control is invalid after key programming (on condition that battery has been installed and the remote control frequency is correct), try to import the CEM safety data to unlock key, and program again after unlocking successful.
Note:
1. For "Plug-in sensor start key (5-button)", please be sure to dismantle & read the CEM, please refer to the "Operation Guide" or "Reference"
2.First time to use the adapter, you need to bind it with K518ISE. Go to the K518ISE home page and choose "Settings -> Binding adapter", following the direction to finish binding. One K518ISE host can bind up to 5 adapters, and the bound adapter can not be bound to other K518ISE hosts. Once bound, no need to bind again.
3. "Plug-in sensor start key (5-button)" only need to dismantle & read CEM in the co-pilot storage box and backup security data;

Operation
Read CEM security data
Volvo's CEM is basically located behind the storage box which is in front of the co-pilot seat
CEM boxes may have the same appearance, but the back of the circuit wire location is different, can be called type A and B .
Type A: open the lid, pay attention to the black columns in the blue circle on the back of the circuit board, those are four positioning points, stably match them respectively with the white columns on RN-01 board.
Note: The circuit board is coated with insulating glue, it is required to use the washing plate water to wash it off the blue area of the insulation coating in the contact point (solder joint) , or power can not go through, if the needle of RN-01 board is broken, it will need to wire in the corresponding locations.
(First time to use the adapter, please bind it with K518ISE host, please refer to"Function")
Type B: Its circuit is different from that of type B, it requires to wire to read immodata, please refer to below wire instruction:
Note: Connect power to read the data, it is required to separate RN-01 board to the motherboard to prevent conduction; welding line should not exceed 15cm.
Attention
1. When programming Volvo key, be sure to dismantle & read the CEM, as to CEM location and how to read, please refer to the "Operation" or "Reference".
2. It is required to bind the adapter when using it for the first time, you need to bind it with K518ISE. Go to the device home page and choose "Settings -> Bind adapter", following the direction to finish binding. One K518ISE host can bind up to 5 adapters, and the bound adapter can not be bound to other K518ISE hosts. Once bound, no need to bind again.
3. For 6 keys, during operation, you need to first insert the key into the key slot and then operate according to the directions.
4. For 5-button key, please follow the prompts to insert the key into card slot, if the key can’t be inhaled, please follow the prompts to click "Cancel", the system will prompt "Please pull out and in the key within 10 sec” , and then wait for the program to execute.
5. Check if the card is locked when it can’t be kept in the key slot, locked key can’t be kept, a new card generally will not be locked.
6. When install battery to Volvo models, please pay attention that the two batteries are overlapped, separated by a white paper in between, do not just replace the above one.
Disassemble is also very simple, remove the metal key, in the place where the key lies, please find a little knife with not too sharp blade, gently open it from the gap.
7. If the remote control can’t work after programming, that mainly because operational problems, click "OK"if yes, if click "cancel" and continue to follow the prompt to operate, such operation may cause useless remote. If this happens, please re-program (you can delete the already programmed key, as to the original car key and the key that has been programmed by the vehicle, once being deleted, can only be used to program this car).
