Croatia I sent a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs on 25 October, raising concern about the case of journalist Zeljko Peratovic. He was detained on 17 October for one day, in connection with his alleged revealing of state secrets. If charged, Peratovic will face up to three years of imprisonment. I asked the Minister for details of this case, and reiterated the need for new laws that can secure that criminal liability for disclosing secrets applies only to officials in charge of protecting classified information.
