Eat Healthy, Eat Hearty
The rules about diner stops are clear: you're free to order any food item from the menu or the specials board, but you have to eat the whole thing. With ten diners on the route, I suspected that ten fried pork sandwiches would be incompatible with human life. So my basic algorithm for parsing menus was to look for small portions of healthy food.
"Would a banana count?" Rich asked tentatively. I scanned the page. Yup, "Banana" is right there on the menu, so it most certainly counts as a required food item. As for me, I was trying to balance my "eat healthy and in small portions" goal with a desire to try new things.
I can get a banana anywhere, so instead my eyes were drawn to the Fruit Cup. I couldn't remember the last time I'd had one (not even that stuff from a can that's packed in liquid insulin). Plus, the name certainly implied a modest handful of fruit, didn't it? With a glass of OJ -- a beverage is required at all stops -- I thought I'd chosen wisely.
Okay, well, it turned out to be more like a fruit salad. Fortunately, it was all intensely fresh produce and with my metabolism still pouting because I'd been up for two hours and still hadn't had a proper breakfast, I needed no encouragement to polish the whole thing off. It was probably more real, actual fruit than I'd eaten all month.

I've been eating healthy and exercising for the past two weeks. And with this being the start of the third I'm falling in love with my new lifestyle. I already feel happier(minus some bad feelings yesterday), healthier, stronger, and just good.
I've never really tried hard to eat healthy. I love healthy food, but it's hard when I still live with my mother and she buys very unhealthy food. But as of now I'm ignoring what she buys and only eating my food.
Like this yummy bowl of fruit and granola. This is my snack for today :)
oranges
strawberries
grapes
banana
and bits of a granola bar.
For those of you who think about eating healthy and starting exercise, I highly suggest starting right now. Don't say "Oh today i've already ate bad, I'll start tomorrow" Do it now. It's worth it.

B Vitamins And Weight Loss
- Weight loss, in the context of medicine, health or physical fitness, is a reduction of the total body mass, due to a mean loss of fluid, body fat or adipose tissue and/or lean mass, namely bone mineral deposits, muscle, tendon and other connective tissue.
- Weight Loss is a 2006 novel by Upamanyu Chatterjee.
- "Weight Loss" is the fifth season premiere of the American comedy television series The Office, and the show's seventy-third (and seventy-fourth) episode overall.
- Includes 8 water soluble vitamins that play important roles in cell function. For more detail on these click here.
- a group of vitamins important in cell energy processes
- (b vitamin) B-complex vitamin: originally thought to be a single vitamin but now separated into several B vitamins
B vitamins
B(eer) vitamins helps:
# Support and increase the rate of metabolism
# Maintain healthy skin and muscle tone
etc etc. according to Wikipedia. So there are lotsa reasons to drink this other than the fact, that it tastes absolutely wonderful.
This one is a triple from St. Feuillien (8.5%). It's not a Belgian trapist brewery, but they sure do make some fine beer. If you haven't had a triple yeasted beer before, it's about time that you go and drink one. The taste is so rich, and it's not like bad strong beers that they've just added alcohol to. Triples are the real deal. My Deloitte colleagues from Belgium can go on and on about these beers for hours, but I'll just stop here.

Drunk On B Vitamins
We discovered Malta (non-alcoholic vitamin brew made by Guinness) at a food court. It kind of tastes like a fizzy cross between molasses and Marmite. I loved it. Devon got one because he wanted the iron and B vitamins in it. Between the Malta and the massive glass of fresh squeezed sugar cane juice he had just consumed 15 minutes earlier, he was bouncing into the stratosphere for a while. The come down ain't pretty...

When I signed up, the default daily walking goal was 2,500 steps. I was able to meet the goal without much effort on the first day. At this point, I am ignoring the distance and calorie goals. I haven't set my stride information correctly, so distance isn't accurate. At this point, I'm just keeping it simple by counting steps.

Once they arrive, Regan is greeted with the news that the body of a young woman has been discoverd floating in the waters off Waikiki. Regan's inquiries into the girl's tragic death will take her all over the islands. Speaking of gluttony...
FGR's theme today was "the seven deadly sins, and my first thought was to do gluttony, since I am currently "off the wagon" (me and Oprah...) and eating like there was no tomorrow - and there may not be, if we keep eating this way... But, it's so damn good... Black-eyed peas over rice, with a good dollop of butter, and spicy pan-fried pork loin medallions... Pass the rolls, Honey-Pie! Mmmm-Mmmm.........
I heard the group that just beat the record to the Pole ate an average of 7,000 calories a day to stay warm and strong as they trekked across the frozen tundra. I figure, that's probably about what this plate had in it, so, if I decide to take off for the Pole - I'm all set...

Wendy #1 - 4/6/07
Believe it or not, the wound on her leg is slowly healing. The scab came off the other day and it looks godawful, but does seem to be filling in and does NOT seem to slow her down at all, or even really bother her. Short of a skin graft, which, even if it were possible, would require that she be sedated for 6 or 8 weeks ("taking it easy" is not something Wendy does well on her own), I'm told there is really nothing else to do but make sure she keeps it clean and keep an eye out for infection. In the meantime, she just keeps on being Wendy.
Baconator
Up close and personal shot of a Wendy's drive-thru menu. As you can see, all of the items listed are saturated in fat and calories. Here they offer, a 3/4 lb. Triple burger with cheese, a Baconator which consists of two hamburger patties, two slices of cheese, and 2 layers of bacon, and a Bacon Deluxe which comes with one hamburger patty, bacon, cheese and all of the toppings. If you are going through the Wendy's drive-thru for a healthy choice of a salad or baked potato; it's hard to resist the cravings with these juicy burgers pictured above.

low fat cookies recipes
When Dr. Lucy Gibney learned her child had severe food allergies, she got down to some serious medical research in the kitchen. Inspired by her son and encouraged by her husband, she put aside her career as an emergency physician to create great tasting foods for people with modified diets. She started by taking her mothera€™s time tested recipes and substituted her own gluten free flour blend. Next she meticulously experimented until she baked great tasting cookies without milk, butter or eggs. Most importantly, she knew the only way to make products in a protected environment and prevent unwanted ingredients such as peanuts or tree nuts was to control the process from start to finish. She has put all of her efforts into creating a dedicated bakery where her vision is now a reality. Today, Lucy's cookies stand as proof that no one ever has to be denied a good cookie. Every crispy, crunchy Lucy's cookie is baked without wheat, gluten, milk, eggs, peanuts or tree nuts. But you'd never know it. They taste delicious. Today, Dr Lucy continues to advocate for people with food allergies and special diets. Her vision unfolds daily with increasing demand for her yummy cookies and enthusiastic support from dedicated customers. Made from natural ingredients using no preservatives or trans fat. High quality ingredients are used in a carefully controlled bakery to be sure the products meet tight allergen testing criteria. Four classic flavors: chocolate chip, oatmeal, sugar and cinnamon. 100 to 120 calories per serving. Vegan and Kosher Pareve certified.

Week 39 - To Do List
If you are in need of some colour, this should give you a heavy dose. This turned out a bit eye-blasting. :)
My To Do list is very long at the moment, and I also have more than one on the go. I decided to create this week's self portrait around the idea of a REALLY long list of things to do because sometimes these things can get out of hand. When I am too focused on getting things done I feel a bit like a "human doing" rather than a "human being".
Do I really have to do this?
I made him. I'm a mean mama. He just wanted to take the beads off. So I bribed him with a mint.
Today is one of the days where he is asserting his independence. All he wanted to do was dart into the street, while I insisted that he had to choose to either hold my hand or be carried at street crossings. He finally rushed past me and off the curb and I had to put my foot down and pick him up. It sort of went downhill from there. *sigh* Happy Labor day :-)
