Turnip soup

I had this turnip forever!!! (ok, maybe a bit less than that; 2 weeks)
I know I shouldn't have cooked it that soon (as I had turnip few days ago), but really had to finish it. Perishable stuff need to be used, lol

So, here is the soup:

1 turnip (approx 500gr in weight)
2 carrots
5-7 cloves garlic
4 cm ginger
dried chili pepper

Clean turnip and carrots, and cut them in smaller pieces. Clean ginger and cut it in smaller pieces.
Add 1/2 l water (or more if needed, depends on how think you want it) and let it all cook.
After 20 minutes, 1/2h, check if turnip and carrots are soft. Then add that garlic and pepper and let it cook for another minute.

After taking off the heat, add ginger. Take the blender and blend it all in a nice smooth soup.
When serving, I served it with ham and/or baked bacon. And eat with bread.

Bon appetite!

Brussel Sprouts-2

Today was an easy day!

For breakfast as usual the buckwheat flakes with 20ish hazelnuts and some pineapple (from day before yesterday, wanted to finish it)

And right now i am having my lunch and it is simple and delicious!

500gr brussel sprouts
200gr dried shrimps (I bought mine in Chinese shop)
chopped pineapple (unfortunately, I put too less, next time at least 200gr!)

Clean the outer leaves on bs, and then put them to steam for 5 minutes on high flame. Add shrimps to the sprouts and let it steam for another 5-7 minutes.
Take off the heat.
In the mean time, clean the pineapple and cut in small pieces.
Put a spook of ghee (clarified butter) into the frying pen. Let it melt.
Put pineapple into the pen, and let it fry a bit. Add some red chilli pepper (not too much, otherwise it's too hot).
After a minute or two, put it all together and stir.
Bon appetite!

Pizza!!! Yuppi!

I had pizza today!

Ok, it was supposed to be buckwheat day. So, I have taken those last five pancakes from the freezer (need to bake a new batch!).
So, in the morning, there was a nice porridge with buckwheat, no flakes simply buckwheat grains cooked in some water and the last 1dl of coconut milk.
I ate it with two kiwi's.

As my breakfast was rather late (at 13.00h), my lunch/dinner were at 17.00h.
So, firstly I thought of something with buckwheat, but then after good search in my fridge, I've fond the bread dough!!!
And it can't stay that long, so I've made my pizza!
Now, if you remember form the last time, I have added some coriander seeds to my dough. Well, this time, it was way TOO much!
So, I spread the dough on the baking paper (on baking sheet), and put it to the oven for 7-10 minutes. Then took it out and put all vegetables I wanted to get rid of, like tomatoes, green peppers, onions, even some pineapple, anchovies, cappers, chilli pepper. Put everything you want.
And then put it back to the oven for another 20-30 minutes. The temperature was 175 C.
And it was delicious!
I ate first part around 17.00h, and thought of having the rest tomorrow morning.
No way. I ate the rest around 19.00h (although I am not into the late feeding, lol)
Oh, boy...
It was delicious...

Going!

101, ali vrijedan :D

Today is my turnip day!

For breakfast I made millet porridge with 1/2 banana.
Firstly, I left millet to soak for 1/2 hour, then I let it cook in the water that it's been soaked in. In the end, added 1dl cocount milk (as I have had opened the 1l pack a few days ago. or was it yesterday?)
When cooked, I added banana and mashed it all together.
Very delicious.

For lunch, I had one slice of bread a few cloves of garlic and two tomatoes (yes, I know it stinks, but I'm at home and sick, so who cares. You search for something suitable.)

For dinner (and I am cooking as I write), there will be mashed turnip (I simply cooked it) with a spoon of ghee.
And I made a hamburger:
1 chopped onion
200gr minced beef
1 egg
Mix it all together and shape it. Put a spoon of oil in a cooking pan, fry.
Btw, I've added so much chili pepper that I'll be blown right up there under the sky once I eat it, lol.
(*Added*) I've forgotten to add some chopped garlic. You don't! It'll taste even more delicious!

Oh, and I'll have green salad (lettuce) with it. Seasoned with salt, olive oil and lemon juice.
C'est tout.

I trully hope tomorrow I'll be able to go to work. It's getting a bit boring over here.

Ho ho ho, and a Bottle of Rhum (Ha, 100th!!! Congratulations to me, lol!)

No, the title has nothing to do with me, or alcohol. I simply thought of that "ho, ho, ho" part and had to share it, lol.
Hi girls!
Haven't written, I know. I was sick, and really, really tired for the past four days. Felt like doing nothing except reading and sleeping (and eating, btw). :)
These days I try to eat as healthy as possible, especially because I got the dry skin again on my hands. And my face itches. If I may add I am not amused!
Plus, I've eaten way too much potatoes. Baked, cooked, and as crisps. The crisps part bothers me the most.
As you know, I try to eat as less processed food as possible, so these last few days and a few bags of crisps didn't help. At all!

So, today I have decided to do the rice day.
In the morning I had my delicious breakfast (check the link on the side). To sweeten it, I used pineapple.
For dinner I had the same rice, but with kiwi's.

For lunch, chicken soup. Easy day today.

I feel tired. Going to bed.
Kusjes!

P.S. You may congratulate me! This is my 100th post, lol

Celeriac Stew

Good morning,
I feel very, very tired and kind of out of space (I think it comes with this "being tired" feeling :D)

Anyway, I am getting lazy, my dears.
Today was already the FORTH day that I've eaten buckwheat porridge. With banana.
I know I shouldn't, I know it is not supposed to be like that, and I still do it.
Need to bake some bread, don't I? :D

The stew I cooked for lunch:
I started yesterday by cooking bacon a bit (I cut that bacon in pieces, to have it cooked asap). "A bit" was good 30 minutes. And around 80gr.
This morning I skimmed the water (took off as much fat as I could) and then added 1 carrot, cut in cubes and half celeriac, also cut in cubes.
Then, I added 2 tomatoes (cut, as well).
Put some fresh pepper and let it cook for 45 minutes.
No idea how it tastes, but it did smell lovely.

And I know that most of these ingredients are highly allergenic. Wait, all of them are!!!
Well, let's hope for the best, lol.

Going to make some tea. I think my last week was way too eventful and I didn't get enough rest, so I'm catching some of the viruses my colleagues emit, lol.
Kusjes!

Brussel Sprouts

Last night I made a very nice and fast meal (I was really, really hungry).
1/2kg brussel sprouts, pruned
100gr walnuts
3 smallish tomatoes
100gr bacon

Steam brussel sprouts. In the mean time, put the walnuts on the frying pan and fry for a few minutes on a LOW heat. Put the heat up and add sliced tomatoes. Stir for a minute, then add ham. Stir a bit, and then put the heat down and cover it for 4-5 minutes to cook in its own juice.

In the end, mix it all together.
Very delicious!

Celeriac day

I am discovering some vegetable sorts that i have never used before!

What I've done is a celeriac salad with cooked barly. Then I added some cappers and small cherry tomatoes, rucola salad, added some lemon juice, anchovies and then mixed it all together.
It was divine!

Pasternak day

Ok, after my usual buckwheat porridge (lol), but this time with dragon fruit (transaltad from Dutch) and 1/2 banana, here is the lunch.

I'm eating it now, btw and it's delicious.

So, a few days ago I made soup with beef, but didn't finish that beef.

Beef stew with pasternak
200gr beef (already cooked)
1 pasternak (20ish cm long)
1 onion
garlic (as much as you want; don't forget to add some in the end, when the heat turned off!)
2 tomatoes
salt pepper, a few mostard sees

So, this time I have cut that beef (approx 200gr) in small cubes, and put it on a spoon of oil to fry a bit. Added onions, garlic and let it fry a bit more, or at least until the onions get a bit softish.
Then add pasternak, cut in pieces/cubes, 2 tomatoes, cut, add water (about 1cm less than the level of the vegetables) and let it simmer.
Do not forget to add lots of pepper and some salt. And garlic in the very end.
I took me 1h to have almost all water evaporate. But the result is delicious.
Oh, and serve with fresh coriander leaves!
Bon apetit!

Pasta (buckwheat) day

Ah, I'm late. Actually, I'll write it tomorrow.
See ya!

Ok, here it goes.
For the past few days (actually weeks, with the exception of that one bread day) I eat porridge with some kind of fruit - kaki fruit in this case as I needed to finish it.
Yesterday, too. It was my last one.

Lunch/dinner:
I made pasta with tomatoe sauce.
How:
7-9 tomatoes
1 onion
garlic, 3-7 cloves

Put onions to fry on 1 spoon of oil for good 10 minutes. Then add some garlic (or you can add it all, whatever you want; if you add some, you'll add the rest at the very end of the cooking). Keep on stirring.
Cut tomatoes in pieces and add that too. Stir a bit, add pepper, salt.
Cover and let it simmer on a very low heat for another 15 minutes (or until the tomatoes are being cooked and the peel is peeling off). Add some oregano, rosemary or any other kind of dried/fresh herbs, let it simmer for another minute and voila!
In the meantime, cook pasta.

I mixed pasta with sauce in the pan where I cooked sauce, let it cook for another minute and turned it off. Serve.

Bread day!

After loooong (way too long) time, I have finally baked my bread (yesterday evening).
This morning I had that lovely bread with 4 (yes, you read it right, four) eggs, and it was delicious, despite I added no salt. I guess I missed it so much.

While baking, yesterday, I also baked leek-cottage cheese muffins.
Here how:
1 egg
approx 1/2kg leek (the more the better)
approx 1/2kg cottage cheese (this was the rest I had from Paris, if you remember, I bought 1kg fresh cottage cheese - goat)
I wanted to get rid of the cheese, as it took space in the freezer and it is something to eat when bored, lol. Comfort food.

Today, after the visit to the museum I'll bake pizza (left some dough) with cheese and vegetables. Need to finish the peppers. And onion. And some garlic. Well, maybe no garlic. Going out with my friend tonight, :D

Ok, muffins:
Firstly I cut leek into tiny pieces, and washed it. I tried to get it as dry as possible. After that I used hand-blander to make it smooth. Added one egg, and added cottage cheese. Mixed it.
I forgot to add any herbs, but now, I see I could have added some chili pepper, maybe oregano. Ah, well...
Kusjes and see you!

Beans/millet day

Today I started eating my lunch around 10.30.
It si so simple, but so nice and spicy, mmm.

Breakfast, first.
Buckwheat porridge with kaki fruit (I am still out of any nice and interesting ideas).

Lunch (and half breakfast, as it is 12:00 now and I am about to finish it, lol).

Put beans into the water. It needs to be in at least a few hours. As I cook in the mornings, I put it in the evening, so they soak for 7-8 hours.
Throw away that first water, add fresh (to prevent/reduce gasses).

Cook 50gr millet in 1/2l water until all water evaporates.
Put your beans to cook, too.

In the meantime:
1 onion, chopped
5 cloves garlic, chopped
100 gr white beans (in water since yesterday evening to get them nice and puffy)
coriander seeds,
salt, pepper, red chilli peppers

Put, onion and garlic in the frying pan (or wok, even better!) with a spoon of oil. Fry.
Add cardamom seeds. When nice and yellow, add cooked beans, salt pepper and fry for a while.
Eat it with millet. Oh, add some fresh coriander leaves to the top.

Nice and spicy. Pity I haven't added some ginger. It would go well, qua taste.

Dinner?
No idea. Something with millet, anyway, lol.
Oh, I might make millet cooked on coconut milk, with cinnamon. Mmmm that sounds delicious.
See you!

P.S. I bought fresh coriander on the vegetable market. As I knew I wasn't going to use it all I put it into the fridge. Hmmm... Not too nice.
I think next time I do that, I'll chopp it and then put in the freezer.

Some vegetable day

It has been a very hungry day today, as I don't have that many things to eat.
Ok. I had cookies for breakfast (was hungry after my breakfast, lol).

So breakfast:
buckwheat porridge with one kaki fruit

Lunch/dinner:
Leek stew
5 leeks, cut in 1-2cm pieces (and washed!)
meat (I have all the skins from the bacon I ate)
pasternak (a small one, approx 15 cm long)
2cm ginger (grated)
buckwheat flour
red pepper powder
1 spoon of oil

So, put the meat (bacon skins) to cook in 0.75l water.
You'll have to keep it cooking for good 20 minutes. Add pasternak cut in cubes (not too big) and after 10 minutes add leek.
Let it simmer for another 15-25 minutes.

Five minutes before taking it off the heat:
pour one spoon of oil in the baking pan, let the oil warm up.
Add one spoon of flour and stir until it gets nice and golden.
Pour a glass of water, FIRST!
Add the red pepper powder to the flour in the baking pan, stir a few times and add water SLOWLY, constantly stirring to prevent clogging of the flour.

Add the flour mixture to the soup, let it cook for another 5 minutes.
Done.

The flour part is for the a-colour, b-thickness, c-not feeling hungry as there is no bread on the side.

Snacks:
Mandarins, baked chestnuts.

Buckwheat day

Today I need to stay longer at work, so I made two meals (lunch and dinner).
BTW, I woke up at 6:45, and was late 1/2 hour at work!!! (I start at 9:00h)
Don't ask. It just happened.

For breakfast, I had a buckwheat porridge with 1/2 banana and two mandarins.

Ok. Here it goes.
Cook 100gr buckwheat

Meal one:
3 big peppers, cut in small(ish) pieces
1 onion (I had a half in fridge, so I used that half only)
a spoon of oil

Put the cut onions on the oil and fry it. Add cut peppers and keep on stirring.
Oh, I've added a clove or two of garlic (as I like it), in the end, add 1dl water, close it and let it simmer a bit. Don't forget salt and pepper!
Ready in 30 min.
When serving, put buckwheat, the peppers and on the top ad some fresh cut coriander.

Meal two:
100gr sea weed (it looks like green tubes)
3-5 cloves of garlic
So, I fried my garlic on ghee. Then in the end added sea weed, stirred for another minute and turned it off. No salt needed!

Yesterday I baked!!!!
So, I made goat cheese-spinach muffins
(Goat cheese - fresh, spinach, two eggs, salt and pepper, and I added quite a lot fresh coriander!)
They were quite good! Will try to make them again.

Also, I made cakes!
1 egg
desiccated coconut
1 kaki fruit (not sure what is it in English), btw, it is sweet and soft and juicy
Baked it all on 200C for 20 minutes.
Delicious!

And today the day is gloomy and I am a bit tired.
Need to think what to make tomorrow.
Kusjes!

P.S. I'm worried!!! I have some kind of a rash on my cheeks and it is a bit swollen and red, and it feels like it felt long tome ago when I had that huuuuge swollen up head (pity I have no photo's, it was... ridiculous)
Anyway, it's itchy and I'm not happy!!!

So, maybe I should start eating simple food again.
Because I am not sure what could be the trigger now...
Is it the Wiena apple strudel in combination with Chai Latte in the Starbucks, or is it the nuts I've eaten a few days ago (might have been baked in the soy oil), or the shrimps, also might have been baked in the soy oil.
DARN!!!!
