Stranglers - Peaches - The Very Best Of The Stranglers (2002)
The Stranglers are one of those bands that are hard to describe, they have a sound that is distinctly their own. Part of the punk movement of the seventies, they were more advanced musically and lyrically than most of Britain's punk bands. This superb collection contains such gems as "No More Heroes", "Straighten Out", "All Day And All Of The Night" (remember the original by The Kinks? Well The Stranglers do a great job covering this classic), "96 Tears" (another classic originally a hit for the sixty's group "? And The Mysterians", "Golden Brown", "Dutchess", "Always The Sun", "Skin Deep", and "La Folie" plus more. The only song missing is "All Roads Lead To Rome". The remastering is excellent with crisp highs, increased midrange and extended output. Highly recommended!..H.Star
