New indexation of JSER in New Jour

Dear readers,
I want to announce you that we have new indexation in New Jour.
NewJour is the place to announce your own (or to forward information about others') newly planned, newly issued, or revised ELECTRONIC NETWORKED journal or newsletter. It is specially dedicated for those who wish to share information in the planning, gleam-in-the-eye stage or at a more mature stage of publication development and availability.

It is also the place to announce availability of paper journals and newsletters as they become available on -- move into -- electronic networks. Scholarly discussion lists which regularly and continuously maintain supporting files of substantive articles or preprints may also be reported, for those journal-like sections.

We hope that those who see announcements on Bitnet, Internet, Usenet or other media will forward them to NewJour, but this does run a significant risk of boring subscribers with a number of duplicate messages. Therefore, NewJour IS filtered through a moderator to eliminate this type of duplication.

It does not attempt to cover areas that are already covered by other lists. For example, sources like NEW-LIST describe new discussion lists; VPIEJ-L handles many matters related to electronic publishing of journals. SERIALST discusses the technical aspects of all kinds of serials. You should continue to subscribe to these as you have done before, and contribute to them.

New indexation of JSER in Scientific Commons

Dear readers,

I want to announce you that we already indexed Journal of Special Education and Rehabilitation in Scientific Commons
ScientificCommons is a project of the University of St. Gallen Institute for Media and Communications Management. The major aim of the project is to develop the world’s largest archive of scientific knowledge with fulltexts freely accessible to the public.

ScientificCommons includes a search engine for publications and author profiles. It also allows the user to turn searches into customized RSS feeds of new publications. ScientificCommons also provides a fulltext caching service for researchers.
ScientificCommons has no registration wall for searchers, but repositories that are not indexed can register by name and the OAI interface URL. It uses the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) to extract data. Currently, only OAI-compliant repositories and personal websites that are enhanced through Dublin Core in their HTML headers can be included in the index.

ScientificCommons strongly supports self-archiving, a legal way for authors to make publications from over 90% of scientific journals available, often called the "green road to open access". The maintainers suggest that scientists should refuse to publish with any journal which will not allow them to self-archive.

Apart from the metadata scraped from repositories, lexical and statistical methods are used to index keywords. Citations are also extracted from the bulk text. This data is used in the search engine and RSS feeds.

ScientificCommons has been designed to work with Zotero.

Because it was made in German-speaking Switzerland, the web interface is also available in German. The majority of the information is in the language of publication, however.
