KIMLE - The show must go on...

First of all thanks and big love to Andrea for making the big trip to rejoin
the team for the weekend :-)

This year's Kimle was up and down with some great high moments. Improved
roster size and sideline voice. Respect to newer players, who showed great
guts putting themselves on the line. Special respect to the women of FDKZ.

We'd like to see a new assistant coach or captain rise out of the women's
ranks…please give that some thought/discussion and come see me, Marko or
Dario about that to speak about yourself or make a recommendation of another
woman player.

A small sample of shining moments:

- Strong team effort in the final game
- Jan making a get-to-the-back, cut-to-the-cone score in the Kozmo game
- Nadine scoring multiple goals against strong defenders especially
against Bratwurst
- Josip coming up with a new term for that innovative strategy:
ride/drive the bike
- Vid scoring on away cuts and throwing a few too
- Vern making two or three blocks in the final game
- Chris and Andrea voice and leadership
- Sweet hammer from Zdravka
- Chie with nice catches on away goals
- Frki's reliable solid handling and leadership by example
- Vid and Dario getting each player to show up on time for the final game

We learned that we are capable of success and failure, and that the choice
is ours to make. Forgive me if I miss the numbers slightly, but I think
that we lost three games by a total of four points. I believe that we are
capable of winning that sort of game in the future if we want to.

The measure of whether we want to win that sort of game doesn't just come on
game day – it starts with early roster signups, goalsetting, training,
preparation, sleep, and what we put into our body. That being said, our
organization is much more concerned with character, integrity and teamwork
than a win/loss record. We showed a number of great phases of teamwork,
though across the board we didn't live up to our potential as a unit, and
that goes as well for me as a coach. Win or lose I hope everyone will agree
that process of preparing and developing as a team is far more important
than the result itself.
