Some girls prefer married men. They claim married men are more experienced, thus better in bed. Well, not all wives agree. But short of asking the wives for recommendation, how could you tell? Easy. Next time you bobby fisher tempted to play hows your father with a married men (assuming he admits to being married), ask to see the pictures of his children. I can’t be arsed to track it down but according to one research, children take after the physical side of the parent who reaches orgasm first. Based on this theory, Amy Search bobby fisher crap in bed. So is Tom Pell. Ditto Steve Tyler of Aerosmith and Jon Voight, Angelina Jolie’s daddy. Likewise Paul McCartney and John Lennon. In Lennons case its a blessing. Who wants to look like Yoko Ono? And isnt it disappointing to discover George Best is not a good bonk? Malaysian politicians are mostly crap apart from our most eligible bachelor. Megat Junub is veerrrry bad. (There goes my theory that ugly men try harder) My grandfather was ace. All his seven children have the exotic features of my grandmother. Im not sure about my parents though since I don’t look like either of them. Although my mother let it on once they had a good sex life. (Tolonglah..if my mother and aunties are reading this, please don’t do this to me. I really dont want to know even the tiniest detail of your sex lives) See, this is why you have to marry a good bonk. Its a totally selfless decision. You dont want to go through 9-month of pain and another 18-year of disruption just to produce a daughter with a moustache. That amounts to abuse bobby fisher my book. Then again, that iron lady who cried on tellys daughter look like her. I imagine the hubby wouldnt dare not let her go first. (Okay, another image I dont want to contemplate) My last word on this. If you see a pretty boy, go after his father! |

Gil Trenum (R) Desi Arnaiz (I) Milt Johns is currently Brentsville Districts School Board member. To run for Chairman of the School Board, Johns relinquished the Brentsville position. That left an open seat and Trenum and Arnaiz competing for the empty seat. Although there relatively little information about this race in the newspaper, it is quite important. The Prince William County School Board appoints our school officials and controls a budget of over one dollars to educate over 70,000 students. Amazingly, however, we pay School Board members only about a thousand dollars a month. How we get good people to volunteer for this difficult job, I can only guess, but somehow we do fortunately. WUSA9.com provides a brief description of both candidates on its website (here). The primary issue is Prince William prince william county schools schools is overcrowding (here). Both candidates emphasize maintaining education quality. Arnaiz specifically addresses the issue of ESL students, a growing issue, on his website. Nonetheless, Arnaiz does not promote illegal immigration (see his comment here). Gil Trenum (R) Gil Trenum is a relative newcomer (only ten years), but he and his wife, Michelle, have taken an active interest prince william county schools local affairs. Thus Trenum has earned the endorsement of the Republican Party (here) and one of our local newspapers (here). Trenum has a solid technical education, a good military background, and a record of local community involvement. His Nokesville neighbors know him, and they have provided him an excellent springboard into the School Board race. Desi Arnaiz (I) Desi Arnaiz is a local business owner, a retired senior military officer, and long-time respected member of the PWC GOP. At first glance, Arnaizs distinguished record and greater experience would suggest that he is the best prince william county schools for the School Board. Arnaiz actually started running for the School Board first, and he quickly got the endorsement of most local Republican officeholders. However, rank and file party members chose to endorse Trenum. Since then, Trenum has receive the endorsement of most local Republican Officeholders (here). Exactly why PWC GOP members chose to endorse Trenum instead of prince william county schools I can only guess. I expect the fact Trenum has children in the school system, and his children represent both him and his lady well, probably explains the choice. After Arnaiz competed for the PWC GOPs endorsement and Trenum received it, Arnaiz should have dropped out of the race. As a condition for competing for the endorsement, Arnaiz had agreed to drop out if the PWC GOP chose to endorse someone else. Unfortunately, Arnaiz reneged on his promise (details here). Vote for Gil Trenum. |
I recently did an analysis of the search terms people used in 2007 to reach my blog. You may not care, but I thought some might find it interesting in marketing their own blog. Heres the list: |
Looking for comment from American Idol Judge Paula Abdul about the plastic surgery related death of Kanye Wests mother, a TMZ cameraman a little too deep. Not that Paula was miffed as described, but clearly she had no interest in discussing her experiences under the knife. Anyone can see from before and after photos that Paula is no stranger to plastic enhancement. So she had a big shnoz, tarantula thick eyebrows, flat cheek bones, and an A cup. Its the person inside who counts. On the other hand & enough said. Has anyone seen this womans reality TV show? These days its getting harder and harder to find anyone in the entertainment industry who hasnt had a little nip or tuck. Even her cohort, Simon Cowell, admits to regular botox injections. I wouldnt be the least bit surprised if he succumbed to liposuction as well. All those comments on last seasons show about his moobs had to hit below the sag. Simon revealed some sensitivity over the moobs while emphatically denying reports about being gay. Dont quote me, but he might have crossed his arms against his chest in response. The body language a dead giveaway. Popular topics today: camila alves, brad renfro, selma oregon, jillian grace, retts syndrome, the client, matthew mcconaughey, derek hess, william defoe, kristy lee cook, buynowbe |

Lets go back to divisibility today. Weve done 2, 4, and 8. And weve done 3, 6, and 9. Im going divisibility leave 5 & 10 for you. Everybody knows those, anyway. Today, I want to talk about the rules for 7 and 11. You can get a summary of the divisibility rules here: Divisibility Rules. Divisibility by Seven There are lots of rules for seven. Some of them are so complicated that you divisibility as well go ahead and divide by seven. one I like that is not so complicated, and I can finally explain why it works, too! Take the last digit off the number. Double it subtract it from the remaining digits. If the result is by seven, then the original number is divisible by seven. If the number is still too large, repeat the process. Heres an example: Take 1523. We will remove the 3 and double it. That makes 6. Now we find 152 - 6 = 146. Still too big (for me, anyway) so we will repeat. Remove the 6 and double it. That makes 12. 14 - 12 = 2, so this number is not divisible by 7. What makes this rule so cool to me is that it seems completely improbable. How in the world would anyone come up with it? divisibility it work every time? The answer is that someone discovered it by using modular arithmetic, so its not as random as you might think, and yes, it works every time. (We use modular arithmetic when we are concerned more with the remainder than with the quotient.) Heres why it works. Im indebted to jimloy.com for the explanation. First of all, any number with 2 or more digits can be written as 10 times all the digits from the tens place forward plus the digit in the ones place. Lets use 196 as an example: 196 = 190 + 6 = (19 x 10) + 6 Second, since 2 and 7 have no common factors, then a number is divisible by 7 if and only if 2 times that number is also divisible by 7. Therefore, if the twice the number is not divisible by 7, then the original number is not divisible by 7. (For example, 50 is not divisible by 7, so neither is 25.) In our example: Now for the twist. (I love this part!) If we have a multiple of 7 and we subtract a different multiple of 7, the result is still a multiple of 7. (Try it mentally. Say 63 - 14 or 35 - 7.) On the other hand, if our number is not a multiple of 7, then the result of the subtraction will still not be a multiple of 7. The trick is to choose our multiple of 7 very carefully. In our example: Now notice that we have produced rule. Double the last digit (the 6) and subtract it from the remaining digits. You see, 21 x 19 was specially chosen because 21 - 20 = 1. There are many variations on this rule, but to me, this is the easiest to remember and use. Divisibility by 11 So how about 11? Again, there are a lot of rules for 11, but the one I like best is to start with the digit divisibility the ones place, subtract the digit in the tens place, add the digit in the hundreds place, . . . etc. If the result is a multiple of 11, then the original number is a multiple of 11. Why does that work? Heres one explanation: Since 10 + 1 = 11, then 10 times a number plus that number is a multiple of 11. For example 10 x 2 + 2 = 22, which is a multiple of 10 x 5 + 5 = 55, which is a multiple of 11. In other words, we could say that 10 times any number lacks that number to be a multiple of 11. (20 lacks 2 to be a multiple of 11, and 50 lacks 5.) In the hundreds place, we have the opposite problem. 100 - 1 = 99, which is a multiple of 11. So 100 is 1 too many to be a multiple of 11. 200 is 2 too many, 300 is divisibility many. You get the idea. And it turns out that every power of ten alternates in this way. The thousands are one too small, the 10 thousands are one too big&. etc. Again, we are letting modular arithmetic do the work for us. Now we know that if we are dividing by 11 and we have a remainder of 11, then we actually have no remainder at all. And thats what is making this rule work. The ones place is contributing remainders, while the tens place is using them up, and the hundreds place is contributing remainders, and so on. neat thing is that the remainders that each column is contributing or using are exactly equal to the digits we see in the number. Lets take an example of 418. This is really 400 + 10 + 8. Lets try again. Is 528 by 11? 8 - 2 + 5 = 11, so the rule says yes. Lets see divisibility = 500 + 20 + 8. You dont have divisibility think that every time, but I wanted to show you why it works. All you have to remember is to add & subtract the digits, starting with the ones place. If this kind of reasoning is interesting to you, you might like to take a course in college called number theory. Thats where you get to learn all about modular arithmetic and a lot of divisibility fun stuff, too. |

Ever have those moments, where at the end of the day youre left wondering, What was it all about? What am I to learn from this? Well, today is one of those days. What am I supposed to do with the past 12 hours? The day actually started off with subtle excitement. Awards Day at the school for our son. Mom, Dad, are you coming today? somebody help me excited. We assured him wed take off and be in the house. We arrive on time, get our seat, grab a program&We knew he didnt make the straight A list, we knew he didnt make honor roll (darn those two Cs)&.Ah here we go, Most Improved. I see&.hmm&list of about 12 students. As my eyes scrolled down the list no son. As a matter of fact, he was no where on the program at all. What?! So&what is the criteria somebody help me a most improved student&.He brought Ds up to a B in Math. Teachers and counselors had him slated for summer school, for fear of not passing the standardized test&heck, we had to fill out his summer school paperwork early, to ensure hed have a seat lol. Passed standardized testing against the odds. Check! Not nearly the calls and notes from his must have improved too. Check! We finally saw him (he must have been sitting behind us) at the end of the awards program&long face, sad eyes. I KNOW he worked hard to pull all of that off, surely he had earned something! Before you know it, with parents and teachers everywhere, Im off to the teachers lounge, looking for tissue to wipe my eyes. Couldnt help it, man. My heart hurt so bad for him. By the time me and hubby reached his classroom, his head was on the desk, tears soaking his notebook paper. After encouraging him, telling him how proud we were, I think thats when hubby decided wed better leave. I guess he saw 1999 in my eyes. I didnt feel like I was going to do anything crazy, but he knows how passionate I about my kids..hurt them its hell to pay. (I talked to my mom later, she too was thankful hubby was there&something about saving her money and my bail). I think I was hurt that the teacher didnt recognize 1) his improvements, and 2) how hard they were for him to accomplish. Was she blinded by his conduct (which we later find out was not so great), or was this a slap in the face to the parents who had HER in the Principals office in January explaining her constant punitive attitude towards our son? Waita minute, she dodged that meeting and we met with her at a later date. Hmmm. Now before we go into how hard teachers jobs are these days, let me assure you we recognize that. Weve seen it with our own eyes. And, our son is not a total angel. But neither is he a total hell-raiser either. somebody help me were appalled to discover her moving him to a desk in the back of the room, off from the rest of the class, somebody help me not until he got his act together&.But lasted the entire first half of 3rd grade! Hello! (We missed this one terribly) Whats up with the solitary confinement! What incentives was he given to move back to general population&What?! So we met with the principal to get him out of that corner, treat him as a rightful member of the stop the Class&., and you too, A mentality, which by now the other students had picked up on&.Good grief. The deal after the Principals meeting was this: If you have problems or issues out of our son, CALL US anytime! We want to partner with you&you give him a good education, well get him back in line if hes out of order, disruptive, whatever the problem may be. Cool. Here we are, two days from the end of the school year, with a couple of calls in 5 months, and youve got a problem with his behavior..really? And we were supposed to know that how? Wheres the calls? Well, I thought by somebody help me time I call you, he could just sit down, get it together, and itll be over. Is that all it was anyway, As talking&As out of somebody help me seat Are you teaching plants or 8 and 9 year olds? Geesh. But thats not what we agreed upon, now was it? Even if the calls were too tedious, I told her, 1) You should have never agreed to do it, and 2) where were the notes you coulda sent home&how bout e-mail? Well, I guess Ill do that with parents somebody help me year. And then she stood silently in front of me, like thats all Im going to say&try again next year. My emotions are coming back together slowly. Part of me is disappointment in the teacher. I feel she gave up on my son, he wasnt important enough to her to keep the bargain&help us help her, and him. Im disappointed in our sons conduct the (very) old is that how we teach you to act& ¬ getting the truth of what happens at school&the WHOLE truth. Guess I had bought into too stories about being falsely accused (A did it&easy fall guy&when he really didnt). I want to show my babies I believe them and in them, when the world doesnt. Alas, to everything, there is a balance lol. And a lot of discerning. As for me, all I could hear today was WIP!&Work in Progress. I dont know what hubby saw in me&I was too emotionally charged to care at the time&but I know I gotta keep dying&keep old, ugly, turn-it-out-in-a-minute me buried at all somebody help me Itsa daily death, doggonit&daily! |
Just recently, since it is coming to the end of the year, and Ill be moving on to year two [oh the horrors!] I was just thinking the other day. Where are all of us going to be in five years time? hold on tight to your dreams Make that like, seven. Will we still be friends? Here or in Singapore? hold on tight to your dreams or the Coast? Married? Kids? Id like to think that I would be somewhere in the middle hold on tight to your dreams earning my first million. Or at least somewhat establishing my career. Going to work in a nice car [not a chillipadi one okay!], wearing jeans and teeshirts and looking cool, listening to keeping up with lastest things. Walking into Coffee Bean to get the morning does and then walking into a nice colourful office filled with photos and drawings. Reality check: Thats not going to happen anytime soon. But ohwell. I can work for that hey? As in yesterdays film, part of being a human is change. To keep up with times, change. To make a difference, change. To believe, change. To learn, change. Weve all finished with the college chapter of our lives, and then comes the uni part which Im still in. Then comes to hold on tight to your dreams one, working. Big transitions. Bigger decisions. Biggest God. I am amazed to realise that in all these, there will still be Him. Its not going to be an easy seven years, I know that. Even ten years. Its not going to be easy. But with You, I can make it. I cant wait to see whats in store. Reality check: Again. Yes. Back to work. Gah. |

picture courtesy of HSN.com Ok, Im embarrassed to admit this, but a few weeks ago while sleeplessly flipping channels late at night, I came across a special on the Home Shopping Network that I couldnt turn away from. While I readily accept that I am a food tv-aholic, I have a hard time admitting that I purposefully watched a channel that sells useless trinkets and gimmicky makeup of the time. However, when I saw Todd English, famed executive chef and restaurateur, selling GreenPans, I abandoned my usual assumptions about the HSN and set the remote down. I was greenpan in, eyes wide, jaw on the floor, as Chef English and team demonstrated the pans mind-blowing properties: 100% non-stick, non-toxic, and oven-ready, up to 900 degrees. No other piece of kitchen equipment can boast greenpan trifecta. I say mind-blowing with full confidence. Have you ever cracked an egg into a un-greased nonstick pan thinking that the pan, new or old, might actually live up to its name, and yield you a neat, whole, over-easy, only to find yourself making i-meant-to-do-this checkerboard scrambled eggs a minute later? Yeah, you know what botched eggs Im talking about. Sure, they still taste good, but youre not giving that to a guest. For the seasoned cook, this mishap will mean nothing, just a re-do, with some oil in the pan next time. For the beginner cook, this could mean discouragement and possibly less interest in cooking (clearly not a good thing!). So, when I saw Todd English and his team cooking with these pans, using no oil or fat to saute fish, make pancakes, and flip crepes, I knew these pans would be the perfect tool for a beginner cook in my life: my boyfriend. Since it seems to be the trend in blogs to not use real names, well call him D. D starting cooking in earnest about 6 months ago and has successfully ventured greenpan the worlds of paninis, pastas, and omelets. In an effort to encourage him to continue cooking, I bought him a GreenPan and hes never been happier or more confident in the kitchen! Not only is the GreenPan insanely non-stick, it can also withstand temperatures up to greenpan degrees! Even with the gas flame maxed out, your stovetop doesnt get hotter than that, and your oven and broiler cant get close to 700 degrees, let alone 900. Unlike other non-stick pans that are coated in teflon (toxic greenpan anything above a greenpan flame!), GreenPans are greenpan and release no toxins into the atmosphere if overheated, thereby reducing our contribution to greenhouse gas emissions. If youre skeptical about the harmful effects of teflon, check out this article, or google harmful teflon and see what pops up. I assure you, youll never spend $35 more wisely. So of course, even though its Ds pan, I was dying to test it out for myself! When I made brunch last weekend it the ultimate test: sunny-side up eggs, with no oil/fat in the pan to lubricate them. When making sunny-side up eggs, its only the egg white, pure protein, that touches greenpan pan, so if these didnt stick, nothing could. The result? Perfect, intact eggs. In fact, foods are downright slippery on this pans surface, even with no fat present! No makeshift scrambles in sight. Corn fritters shallow-frying in the GreenPan (I did use oil for these) *No recipe this week, but heres a pic of the resulting brunch dish I made from the sunny-side up eggs: Corn fritters (yup, same recipe as my earlier post) topped with guacamole, crispy applewood-smoked bacon, sunny-side up eggs and slices of raw milk cheddar. Sunny-side up eggs on greenpan fritters for breakfast, yum! Oh yeah, did I mention the health benefits of not needing fat to cook in this pan? No? Well, D and I figure, if were not using fat to cook our eggs, we might as well enjoy them with some bacon ; ) -M : ) |

Check out this video of Hillary kim darby breaking down from the stress of running for President and ask yourself this: If running for President is so stressful that a candidate breaks down, how do you think theyll handle the stress of being President?
