Bartens - Bakkeren pobjednici Cavendisha

Cavendish je gotov a senzacionalni pobjednici su Bartens - Bakkeren. Justin i Bob su dosta nisko ali ne možeš nazvati neuspjehom ako na turniru ostaneš bolji od Zije i Robsona. Justin oštri zube malo po malo. Još jedan junior je peti: Joe Grue, Ozrenov i Markov 'prijatelj' je odličan peti.

They say that bridge events are won or lost in the final session, and the 2006 Cavendish Invitational Pairs was no exception. From the second to the fourth sessions, Geoff Hampson and Eric Rodwell led the event by a comfortable, though not prohibitive, margin. But a disastrous fifth session, in which they lost 591.5 IMPs to average, saw them drop to second place. Meanwhile Huub Bertens and Ton Bakkeren of The Netherlands were the personification of slow and steady. Their first two sessions were big, totaling more than 1400 IMPs. But in their final three sessions they posted modest plus scores ranging for 47 to 391. In the final analysis their total of 2131.15 far outdistanced the field, Hampson-Rodwell being more than 500 IMPs behind at 1623.5. Gary Cohler and Howard Weinstein recovered nicely to take third place with 1623.2, jumping from tenth to third in the final session.
