The purposes of ITC (International Theosophy Conferences, Inc.) include support for the Three Objects as expressed in the writings of H.P. Blavatsky; and the fostering of intercommunication among all Theosophical traditions. The 13th and 14th annual ITC meetings, held at respectively Julian in California and Olcott in Wheaton made it clear that Theosophists from all traditions can respectfully meet on a shared platform. This year, the 15th annual meeting will be held in the city where it all started in 1875, New York. The theme is: “How to Awaken Compassion? H. P. Blavatsky and the Eternal Secret Doctrine.” There will be a number of workshops while renowned and well-versed speakers with a solid Theosophical background will explore the conference theme of compassion. Among them are: S. Ramu, Jan Jelle Keppler, Ken Small, Ed Abdill, Michael Gomes, Joop Smits, Ananya Rajan, Ruth Richards, April Hejka-Ekins and ULT students. Among the special guest speakers is Dean Radin Ph.D., who will speak on his new book: Supernormal: Science, yoga and the evidence for extraordinary psychic abilities. From the Editor's Desk Dear friend, We present the second quarter 2013 issue of Theosophy Forward. Well underway in its fourth year of service, the magazine is still expanding its action radius. It is encouraging to see that the number of readers is constantly increasing, while many all around the world are contributing with reactions and articles. That is how it should be. Theosophy Forward is not the mouthpiece of its editor or coworkers. The magazine impartially underscores the necessity for all Theosophists to come together and it is not affiliated with any of the existing organizations, but solely wants to serve the Theosophical cause. The various Societies are mere outer forms; the spiritual unity which binds us exists on a higher level. Theosophical unity on that level is not a dream or an unrealistic aim. Unity was there from the very start as a basic Theosophical principle. Our fragmented thinking and human failure caused that we drifted apart, simply ignoring the fact that we are all from the same root. Unity is the state of being undivided or unbroken; therefore the concept as such is not difficult to comprehend. Unity acknowledges all universal truths and respects the desire of each Theosophist to follow her or his own Theosophical Path. In this brand-new issue, in the category “Medley” we recommend a piece written by James Colbert entitled “Abortion and the Reincarnation of the Soul,” which deals with a debated subject. In the category “Theosophy,” for those interested in historical material, the article “Revelation or Realization: The Conflict in Theosophy,” written by the Dutch Theosophist J. J. van der Leeuw is of great interest. The Vasanta Youth Lodge in Adyar took our invitation to participate in our series of mini-interviews quite serious and changed the mini interview into a maxi one, very inspiring. The interviews are to be found in the category “The Society.” There are four short articles in the new series “Our Unity,” pointing to the importance of achieving unity among all Theosophists. You’ll find them also in the category “Theosophy.” Our Newsletters are always composed with the greatest care. Some email providers don’t display them properly. If you encounter any problems, make use of the View In Browser option on top.
