Once

Once, long ago, when I was in 2nd grade or something like it, I was handed a sheet of paper with instructions on it. The very first instruction was to "Read all directions before you do anything." Of course, I ignored that one. I proceeded to cut, color, and otherwise destroy my paper. The very last instruction was "Do not do directions 2-whatever." I felt like a moron.I felt the exact same way about 15 min ago when I realized that my canteen cup and E-tool are _supposed_ to be black. I just spent the last 3 hours scraping what I thought was carbon off of them, giving them a nice shiny finish. "Odd," I thought at the time, "this isn't very tactical. And how did this carbon on my E-tool get so uniform?"Now I know. It was paint.And so I get to spend some more of my time re-painting my gear for the turn-in tomorrow. If only I were a drunk actor/director and could blame this on the Jews...
