Dragi moji,
A sad malo detalja.
Gospodin Rohatinski neće sniziti eskontnu kamatnu stopu. To gladnim financijskim tržištima nije bilo dovoljno i sad traže još 0,75%.

PAUL B. FARRELL
A mind-blowing machine
In America, land of the bubbles, the next pop will be the biggest
By Paul B. Farrell, MarketWatch
Last update: 1:12 p.m. EST Jan. 29, 2008

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. (MarketWatch) -- Three cheers! Wall Street's got a new rally song: "I'm dreaming dreams, I'm scheming schemes, I'm building castles high."
Actually it's the 1919 tune that launched the roaring run-up to the '29 crash and the Great Depression. Remember the lyrics: "I'm forever blowing bubbles. Pretty bubbles in the air. They fly so high, nearly reach the sky. Then like my dreams they fade and die."
And it still fits today! Listen to venture capitalist Eric Janszen's scary new paradigm in "The Next Bubble," a Harper's Magazine report: "That the Internet and the housing hyperinflations transpired within a period of 10 years, each creating trillions of fake wealth, is, I believe, only the beginning."
Translation: The next bubble is already expanding. Now listen very closely as Janszen makes the single most dangerous prediction of 2008: "There will and must be many more such booms, for without them the United States can no longer function. The bubble cycle has replaced the business cycle."
After the collapse of the 1990s dot-com bubble we laughed at all the hype they had spewed: "This time it's different." "New paradigm." "New economy that only went up."
Well, stop laughing: The new, new came true, says Janszen. Seriously, the economy and the stock market can no longer function without an ever increasing series of bubbles, one after another, rapidly expanding then bursting, with all the manic trading, risk, uncertainty, hypervolatility and distortions that come with it.
Janszen traces bubbles through history: From the 1720's South Sea Bubble to the housing-subprime bubble. Bubbles are accelerating, becoming more frequent, a frenzy feeding on itself: "Nowadays we barely pause between such bouts of insanity. The dot-com crash of the early 2000s should have been followed by decades of soul-searching; instead, even before the old bubble fully deflated, a new mania began to take place."
What's so scary is not that the subprime bubble was happening so fast on the heels of the dot-com bubble, not that the pundits, the public and the policy makers all appeared to be ignoring it. What's really scary is that our best and brightest leaders in Washington, Wall Street and Corporate America wanted to create a bubble! They even threw jet fuel on this raging fire with cheap money, favorable taxes and minimal oversight.
Of course the Treasury and the Fed will never admit it, but they saw the housing bubble as a healthy economic necessity in their warped ideology! In their myopic minds, the housing bubble was the messiah "saving" America from a big, bad bear/recession.
Publicly they denied the bubble's toxicity, dismissing it as "regional froth." Privately, they conspired to create a massive new bubble driving America deep into debt.
'New economy' morphs into out-of-control robot
This new ideology is extremely dangerous: It assumes the American economy can no longer be managed by politicians or Wall Street quants. The "new economy" has a life of its own, a "Terminator" from a dark future, an "I, Robot" from Asimov's sci-fi world.
Yes, our economy has become a self-sustaining "bubble-blowing machine" inventing new bubbles at warp-speed even before the last is buried, in endless reincarnations of Schumpeter's "creative destruction" cycles.
What's next? More asset-backed bubbles. The dot-com '90s created $7 trillion in market value. The housing boom created $12 trillion in "fake wealth." Janszen predicts the next great bubble will be a $20 trillion "alternative energy" bubble. In fact, Wall Street's already hustling biofuels, solar, wind, nuclear, geothermal and hydroelectric as the new alternative energies destined to replace oil, gas and coal in this next new economy.
Timing? The new "alternative energies" bubble will last about 8 years, from a 2005 launch till a peak around 2013, when it will "creatively destruct," when all possible "fake wealth" is squeezed out, when investors wise up to the scam, when that new bubble pops.
In his finale, Janszen admits that when the "alternative energy" bubble finally self-destructs around 2013, "we will be left to mop up after yet another devastated industry," while Wall Street "will already be engineering its next opportunity."
But be warned: Even before we near the end of the "alternative energy" bubble, the law of unintended consequences could trigger a meltdown, not of the bubble but of the "bubble-making machine" itself! The machine will implode, taking down Wall Street, Washington, Corporate America ... and with it, the "new economy," the "new paradigm" and the "bubble-making machine!"
'Black Swan' self-destructs 'shadow banking' derivatives
The trigger? A "black swan" off the radar and invisible to the quants managing the world's derivatives.
The brilliant supertrader and risk manager Nassim Nicholas Taleb says a "black swan" is an extremely rare, improbable event (like 9/11) that cannot be predicted, yet has catastrophic impact. Black swans are events outside the vision, experience and technology of the world's derivative traders' geniuses.
What will the black swan destroy? How about the derivatives market that spreads so far beyond subprime loan obligations.
Pimco's Bill Gross warns that $500 trillion of derivatives are hiding in a "shadow banking system" that "craftily dodges the reserve requirements of traditional institutions and promotes a chain letter, pyramid scheme of leverage ... with no requirements to hold reserves against a significant 'black swan' run that might break them."
Derivatives have become a renegade army of "I, Robots." "According to the Bank for International Settlements ... total derivatives amount to over $500 trillion, many of them finding their way onto the balance sheets of SIVs, CDOs and other conduits of their ilk comprising the Frankensteinian levered body of shadow banks."
Shadowy? Pyramid schemes? Frankenstein? Terminator? Black swan: Gross paints a much darker future than Janszen: "The last two decades alone have witnessed pyramid schemes involving savings and loans/junk bonds, the small investor/dot-coms, and now global bonds/subprimes ... in each and every case the originator of a surefire 'can't miss' concept collected huge premiums from a willing investment public, only to see the pyramid collapse either of its own merits or from the lack of additional gullible investors. There will be more to come, much like a regular university that welcomes a never-ending stream of new 'students' who pay annual 'tuition' to be 'educated.'"
Higher truth
Never-ending: Gross and Janszen agree on that. But they're both wrong. The biggest flaw in Janszen's argument: "Given the current state of our economy, the only thing worse than a new bubble is its absence."
Wrong, wrong, wrong! Remember, this new paradigm assumes that the only way the American economy can exist in the future is if Wall Street's greedy "bubble-blowing machine" keeps feeding on itself, creating an endless, accelerating succession of ever-bigger bubbles.
Folks, that's one of the dumbest economic theories ever, silly "new age" magical-thinking touted as a scientific basis for the new self-indulgent ideology of Wall Street, Washington and Corporate America.
There's a higher truth: The best (not worst) strategy would be to let the "bubble-blowing machine" implode, live with the absence of a new bubble for a while, then quietly step back and reassess our unsustainable "growth-at-all-costs" economic policies that are secretly designed to benefit the self-interests of Wall Street's insiders who profit by endlessly blowing bubble after bubble ... after bubble ... after ....

VERTE

‘an idealist without ilusions’…

Bush: US Should Have Acted on Auschwitz

Oliver Stone uskoro počinje sa snimanjem filma o Georgu W. Bushu (LINK). Stone tvrdi da će to biti "a fair, true portrait" of Bush, focusing on such areas as his relationship with his father, President George H.W. Bush, his wild youth, and his conversion to Christianity."It will contain surprises for Bush supporters and his detractors,"
What goes around, comes around. Usually from behind.

Bush: US Should Have Acted on Auschwitz

By ARON HELLER – Jan 11, 2008
JERUSALEM (AP) — A teary-eyed President Bush stopped in front of an aerial photo of Auschwitz on Friday at Israel's Holocaust memorial and said the U.S. should have sent bombers to prevent the extermination of Jews there.
Yad Vashem's chairman, Avner Shalev, quoted Bush as saying the U.S. should have "bombed it." Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Bush referred to the train tracks leading to Auschwitz, not the camp itself, where between 1.1 million and 1.5 million people were killed by Nazi Germany.
The issue of bombing the Nazi death camps or the rail lines leading to them has been debated for years — and the lack of action was interpreted by some as a sign of Allied indifference.
The Allies had detailed reports about Auschwitz toward the end of World War II from escaped prisoners. But they chose not to bomb the camp, the rail lines, or any of the other Nazi death camps, preferring instead to focus all resources on the broader military effort.
Some experts note only late in the war did the United States have the capability to bomb the infamous camp in occupied Poland, and also faced a moral dilemma since such an operation could kill thousands of prisoners. Even Jewish leaders at the time struggled with the issue and many concluded that loss of innocent lives under such circumstances was justifiable.
Bush twice had tears in his eyes during an hour-long tour of the museum, said Shalev, who guided Bush through the exhibits.
Upon viewing an aerial shot of Auschwitz, taken during the war by U.S. forces, he said Bush called the decision not to bomb it "complex." He then called over Rice to discuss President Franklin D. Roosevelt's decision, clearly pondering the options before rendering an opinion of his own, Shalev told The Associated Press.
Shalev quoted Bush as asking Rice, "Why didn't Roosevelt bomb it?" He said Rice and Bush discussed the matter further and then the president delivered his verdict.
"We should have bombed it," Shalev, speaking in Hebrew, quoted Bush as saying.
Briefing reporters later on Air Force One, Rice said Bush was talking about the rail lines to the camp.
"We were talking about the often-discussed 'Could the United States have done more by bombing the train tracks?'" Rice said. "And so we were just talking about the various explanations that had been given about why that might not have been done.
"It was an exhibit about the train tracks. And so we were just talking about the various explanations because, you know, there are three or four different explanations about why the United States chose not to try to bomb the train tracks," she said.
Rice did not detail those reasons.
Later Friday night, asked about Rice's remarks to reporters, Shalev told the AP the president was not specific about what the Allies should have bombed.
Tom Segev, a leading Israeli scholar of the Holocaust, said Bush's reported comment, which appeared spontaneous, marked the first time a U.S. president had made this acknowledgment.
"It is clear now that the U.S. knew a lot about it," Segev said. "It's possible that bombing at least the railway to the camps may have saved the lives of the Jews of Hungary. They were the very last ones who were sent to Auschwitz at a time when everybody knew what was going on."
At the dedication of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington in 1993, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel famously asked, "Why weren't the railways leading to Birkenau bombed by allied bombers? As long as I live I will not understand that."
At that same dedication, former President Bill Clinton said that the West has to "live forever with this knowledge ... (that) far too little was done," and that "rail lines to the camps within miles of militarily significant targets were left undisturbed."
Segev said the question of a bombing was not so clear cut, noting that it wasn't certain the United States had the ability to carry out such an operation.
In a response to a request that U.S. forces bomb Auschwitz and the rail lines, John J. McCloy, Roosevelt's assistant secretary of war, laid out the U.S. rationale for inaction.
"Such an operation could be executed only by the diversion of considerable air support essential to the success of our forces now engaged in decisive operations elsewhere and would in any case be of such doubtful efficacy that it would not be warrant use of our resources," he wrote in an Aug. 14, 1944, letter.
Holocaust scholar Michael Berenbaum said the photo presentation at the museum, and Bush's reported comments there, do not reflect the difficulties in bombing Auschwitz.
"It would have been a much more complex decision than what is presumed here," said Berenbaum, who teaches at the American Jewish University in Los Angeles.
Berenbaum said the aerial photos that Bush saw at the museum were not developed from the negatives until 1977, nor were they taken purposely to depict Auschwitz. U.S. intelligence forces took them during a bombing campaign on a German chemical plant nearby, which they carried out in August 1944.
But he also said there is no question that had the Allies been interested, they could have bombed Auschwitz and saved lives. By the time the idea was raised in summer 1944, they could have bombed the camp and the railway tracks leading to it using air bases in Italy or, if they had wanted to earlier, from Soviet territory.
"The Americans flubbed it," Berenbaum said. "The bombing could have weakened the infrastructure and made it more difficult to kill with the efficacy with which they killed."
In an article Berenbaum wrote for Encyclopaedia Britannica, he quoted Wiesel, who was a prisoner at Buna-Monowitz, the slave-labor camp of Auschwitz, as saying that inmates were "filled with joy" over the August 1944 Allied bombing of an adjacent plant. "We were no longer afraid of death; at any rate, not of that death," he quoted Wiesel as saying.
The David S. Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies in Washington issued a statement praising Bush's reported remark.
"The refusal to bomb Auschwitz was part of a broader policy by the Roosevelt administration to refrain from taking action to rescue or shelter Jewish refugees during the Holocaust. Tragically, the United States turned away from one of history's most compelling moral challenges," said Rafael Medoff, the institute's director.
Eliezer Schweid, a professor of Jewish Thought at Israel's Hebrew University, said the question of a bombing is irrelevant in retrospect.
World Jewish leadership "was afraid to ask publicly" for the Allies to bomb the death camps, believing that would turn the conflict into a war for the Jews, Schweid said.
Bush was accompanied on his tour by a small party that included Rice, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Israeli President Shimon Peres.
At the compound, overlooking a forest on Jerusalem's outskirts, Bush visited a memorial to the 1.5 million Jewish children killed in the Holocaust, featuring six candles reflected 1.5 million times in a hall of mirrors.
At the site's Hall of Remembrance, he heard a cantor chant a Jewish prayer for the dead. There, Bush, wearing a yarmulke, placed a red, white and blue wreath on a stone slab that covers ashes of Holocaust victims taken from six extermination camps. He also lit a torch memorializing the victims.
"I was most impressed that people in the face of horror and evil would not forsake their God. In the face of unspeakable crimes against humanity, brave souls — young and old — stood strong for what they believe," Bush said.
"I wish as many people as possible would come to this place. It is a sobering reminder that evil exists, and a call that when evil exists we must resist it," he said.
The memorial was closed to the public and under heavy guard Friday, with armed soldiers standing atop some of the site's monuments and a police helicopter and surveillance blimp overhead.
It was Bush's second visit to the memorial. His first was in 1998, as governor of Texas. The last sitting U.S. president to visit was Clinton in 1994.
In the visitors' book, the president wrote simply, "God bless Israel, George Bush."
Associated Press writers Diaa Hadid in Jerusalem and Lily Hindy in New York contributed to this report.

DEFICITARNO FINANCIRANJE

'Rescue the IMF and the World Bank'... nekoliko postova niže, knjiga 'The End of Poverty' - Jeffrey Sachs

DAVOS, Switzerland (MarketWatch) -- The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum moved toward a close Saturday, with powerful policy makers calling for global efforts to prevent a U.S. slowdown from turning into a worldwide catastrophe.
In a speech, Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda warned of an increased risk of a global economic downturn.
"There is no need to take an excessively pessimistic view of the current situation, but at the same time we do need to have a sense of urgency as we engage in coordinated actions while each country also implements necessary domestic response measures," Fukuda said.
Fukuda said the issue would be on the table when leaders of the Group of Seven industrialized nations -- Japan, the U.S., Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, France and Canada -- meet in February.
Just before Fukuda's speech, International Monetary Fund Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn threatened to steal the show, urging in a panel discussion that emerging economies and other nations with sound fiscal balance sheets should begin running temporary budget deficits in a multilateral effort to pump up domestic demand and offset an expected U.S. consumer spending slowdown.
Central banks aren't equipped to address the financial woes on their own, he said.
"I don't think we could get rid of the crisis just with monetary tools," Strauss-Kahn said.
The IMF chief was applauded by fellow panelist Lawrence Summers, the former U.S. Treasury secretary, who termed the call a "mildly historical event," given the IMF's past tendency to urge fiscal tightening in the midst of economic crises.
Like most economic discussions at Davos this year, the morning panel was a gloomy affair. John Thain, the man recently tapped to run Merrill Lynch in the wake of devastating subprime hits, painted a pessimistic picture for the U.S. economy and the mortgage market.
"I unfortunately think there is more downside in the mortgage and mortgage-related market," Thain said.
Those problems are likely to continue to spread around the globe to other financial institutions that hold mortgage-related securities, he said. On top of that, pressure on U.S. consumers could translate into problems in other credit markets, including credit-card debt.
On the plus side, Thain said the ability of troubled banks forced to write down billions of dollars in subprime-related holdings to recapitalize themselves by attracting foreign money is a "good sign" that the world hasn't lost confidence in the United States.
Meanwhile, French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde said a strong euro presents tough challenges for European economies and urged the European Central Bank to consider easing interest rates.
The ECB has been criticized for holding rates steady. ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet, who is making the rounds at Davos, has insisted that "price stability," or the fight against inflation, is the central bank's sole priority.
Asked if she wished the ECB was more like the U.S. Federal Reserve, Lagarde replied: "That's a lovely understatement."
The elite event in the Swiss Alps, which this year attracted around 2,500 corporate chiefs, financiers, politicians and others, began in the shadow of a steep plunge in Asian and European stock markets and the Federal Reserve's surprise three-quarter point rate cut. It was further buffeted by news of a rogue trader's multi-billion dollar loss for French bank Societe Generale.
While critics say there is plenty of blame to be spread around for the subprime crisis and the resulting credit crunch, this year's Davos gathering saw an increased focus on regulators.
A Friday session had participants concluding that the collapse of the U.S. subprime mortgage market and the spread of the crisis to other countries underscored the need for coordinated action by regulators around the globe.
"The balkanization of regulation" was a key factor in the crisis, Malcolm Knight, chief executive of the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, said in a Friday panel discussion.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown earlier this week lamented that international financial institutions aren't set up to deal with the current crisis and argued that the IMF could take on the task of establishing an economic early warning system.
Strauss-Kahn said Saturday that the institution would indeed be well-suited to providing "multilateral regulation and surveillance ... not only for the crisis we're living, but for coming years."

HOMO HOMINI LEPUS

THE KILLER RABBIT

updated by Angelino:
I Don't Want A Bunny Wunny
(Tom Paxton)

I don't want a bunny wunny in my little row boar
In my little row boat in the pond
For the bunny might be crazy and he'll bite me in the throat
In my little row boat in the pond

President Carter got into his boat
Wasn't in a hurry, wanted to float
Think about the country, think about sin
Along swum a rabbit, and it tried to climb in
And what did Jimmy say

Look at him swimming, look at him fly
Ears laid back and a gleam in his eye
Hissing through his front teeth, swimming like a seal
If you were the President, how would you feel
You'd prob'ly say

President Carter saved the day
Splashed with the paddle, rabbit swam away
Jimmy was a hero, felt it in his bones
Said in the words of John Paul Jones

Jon Norgaard
‘Give Me A Hope’

I´m looking, looking for the heart that I´ve broken
Couldn’t see it, just couldn’t see the love that you opened

Now I´m caught in between the present and past
Can I get to where I was?
Will you give me a chance will you try once again
Being just the two of us

Give me a hope, give me a sign girl
`Cause I´m loosing you in my world
I can´t go on, thinking about you, come on, give me, give me hope

Something happened, I didn’t think you had to worry
But you left me, and everything in such a hurry

I´m sorry about the way that I was, I just didn’t treat you right
Now I know how close you came to my heart
Baby, tell me where you´re hiding

I always seem to get it wrong
You don’t know what you got until it´s gone
Give me just a second chance, baby, please

Sometimes A Dream Comes True

Baby I have failed to understand
Why you didn’t leave me, for another man

Tell me why, you never said a word
Why you never questioned, the things you heard

Now you know, that it´s true, nothing happened that night
I just couldn’t imagine my life without you by my side

`Cause sometimes a dream comes true
That’s why I´m here with you, believe you can do it, look at me
Let the love lift us up, may our hearts never stop
Baby, sometimes dreams come true at night

Don’t let go, just listen to your heart
Hold on to the love that just may break apart

`Cause I´m right here by your side, what I did then, was right
I was always meant for you

As far as I understand, the emotional issue concerning Jon Noergaard and his ex girlfriend revolves around this critical event:

'Something happened, I didn’t think you had to worry'

The event in question was so traumatic that Jon most probably finds it too painful for himself and too cruel for his ex loved one to elaborate to his audience the
exact nature of that 'something (that) happened'... he knows, she knows, her girlfriends know, his drinking buddies know, local priest knows and beyond any doubt the NSA, the CIA, the MI6 and the Mossad do know too, so going through all that all over again, just for the sake of lyrics transparency, would be sheer emotional self mutilation.
And this is poetry that we are discussing, not accounting or medications labeling... transparent lyrics could blow away the gentle veil of mystery covering that boldly asserted 'something happened' accident and loose that momentum of collective 'acting-out' episode when audience projects it's own spectrum of infinitely diverse but almost without exception traumatic psychological experiences, otherwise repressed to sub consciousness.
By simple omission to clarify the 'something happened' accident, poet sends 'an open gate' signal to his juvenile admirerers, who let out their darkest fears and secrets to surface, safe in that surrounding of their equals and protected by compassionate hero on the stage who shares their pain and allows them to freely express that pain, what ever it's nature might be - for 'something happened' does indeed cover everything, from waking up in the basement with face and hair all glued up in a thick mass of glue that they had sniffed before loosing consciousness to the sexual harassment that usually follows the excessive glue sniffing if glue abusers do manage to remain fairly oriented in space and time, enough to locate and identify their similarly impaired objects of sexual prey.

'Baby I have failed to understand
Why you didn’t leave me for another man'

Admission that failure of ability to understand did take place, whether at some given moment or even throughout the entire duration of poet's relationship with his loved one, by no means represents clear sign of mature emotional intelligence and willingness of the poet to face his own cognitive disabilities. At some point during their relationship, poet obviously expects his partner to leave him for another man. The common assumption among the critics and researchers is that this expectation must have a causal link with 'something happened' accident. Since the contence of above mentioned accident remains a mystery, we are once again faced with wide interpretative possibilities of poets firm belief that his loved one was contemplating to abandon him for another man. If considered in relation to his understanding failure, one must suspect that poets inconsistent and poorly argumented statements, that are unfolded before us in an nonlinear temporal manner can be nothing else but a severe consequence of both extensive and intensive abuse of glue and/or other types of organic dissolvents. Poor self-esteem. that is common symptom of all addiction related psychological dysfunctions, caused poets deeply felt loss of his love one's trust even though she never clearly expressed her discontent with his glue problem. The poet's ability to articulate his expectation of being left, most probably, was far beyond his mental capabilities so his giving up on his loved one never appeared to have happened. He hasn't directly and explicitly told her anything about his intention to leave her because of his irrational, guilt driven assumption that it was she who would leave him to another man due to his passion for glue sniffing... but he was sending subliminal signals and as we all know, women take such signals much more seriously than verbal or written statements. So she left without any explanation.

'Now you know, that it´s true, nothing happened that night'

By my humble opinion and by opinion of good deal of respected scholars who engaged to solve the mystery of 'something happened' poem, as it is referred to in academicals circles, the poets attempts to win his loved one back took place after a long period of rehabilitation. It is common knowledge that toxic impact of psychoactive substances in glue (as well as one of all the other substances in glue) by far exceeds all the other neurologically damaging substances, unlike other addictive drugs like heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, amphetamine that all use already existing brain chemistry mechanisms and by their effect stimulate or inhibit mostly dopamine and serotonin pathways, glue achieves it's desired effect by destroying neurons and releasing large quantity of inner cell fluid rich with all kinds of neurotransmitters which start to block remaining, still functioning transport. Therefore, neural damage done by glue is like that of brain stroke, extensive, nonselective and irreversible. Even after rehabilitation period the poets mental abilities would never match those that he had before his misfortunate glue-adventure.
The verse quoted above, the one asserting that 'nothing happened that night', without even a hint what night might there be in question or what might be that nothing that happened that night or, let's but it bluntly, what was supposed to happen that night? Poet never gave appropriate answer.
Fortunately, unlike the poet we are intellectually capable of reconstructive or regressive method in deconstructive analysis in poetry.
At the beginning of this essay, 'something happened' accident appeared lacking of any material or substance that could be even hypothesized as it's actual description.
At the end, we again bump into an phrase very much alike. This time 'nothing happened', as poet repeatedly claims.
We are faced with a contradiction that seems to have left us in a logical dead end. But to penetrate the mind of a genius we sometimes must resort to very accurate reconstruction of mental state of the man in question.
I have therefore asked for volunteers booth among the faculty and the students. My attempt was the first empirically tested poetical analysis based on double blind placebo tests that are major demarcation experimental tool in pharmacology. My objective was to establish the frame of mind of a glue abuser, at least by a modest degree.
Half of the volunteers were given strong and fresh glue proven to be very psychoactive and another half was given placebo, in this case a toothpaste mixed with acetone and paint thinner. After 20 minutes of experiment an objective observer gave us a signal to stop inhaling the fumes. The placebo group was unable to communicate with the staff in charge of experiment control and data register because my choice of mixing toothpaste with acetone and paint thinner turned out to be misfortunate one for chemical reaction that followed mixing of those ingredients released very powerful nerve gas but here I must stop with further details about the placebo group due to a very strict military ban on all the informations which were classified as top secret. But that is not relevant to our research.
The group exposed to glue fumes did respond exactly as I predicted:
-one half claimed that SOMETHING HAPPENED on the sealing, to be more precise they maintained that there were other people living on the ceiling and that they plot to exterminate us by nightfall.
-other half strongly objected to that claim and they very energetically held that NOTHING HAPPENED on the sealing, that there were no people at all up there but that there is a virus... a single giant virus, one of size of the watermelon and that it is hiding among the clergy and that it was of utmost importance to find the University parson and have him sterilized, in a sense that not a single living cell of his should survive.
The situation after the experiment was pretty ugly but as soon as the army personnel arrived and used rubber bullets things have come back to normal.
The conclusion is very simple. The poet was heavily involved in glue abuse before he even met his loved one. And that is not the final conclusion. Since the loved one has no part of dialogue... to put it precisely, monologue by the poet, we may without any doubt hold it as a proven fact that the loved one was spending the entire time of this 'relationship' on the sealing of poets room and that she was and maybe still is, a very vivid hallucination of the poet.
There... the mystery is finally solved and excuse me but I have got to hunt down the parson before the virus starts spreading among toddlers.

Thank you for your time and patience!

‘In March of 1935, Karajan's career was given a significant boost when he applied for membership in the Nazi Party.’

‘In 1971 the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe decided to propose adopting the prelude to the Ode To Joy from Beethoven's 9th Symphony as the European anthem. The Council of European Ministers officially announced the European Anthem on January 19, 1972 at Strasbourg: the prelude to "The Ode to Joy", 4th movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th symphony.
Conductor Herbert von Karajan was asked to write three instrumental arrangements - for solo piano, for wind instruments and for symphony orchestra and he conducted the performance used to make the official recording. He wrote his decisions on the score, notably those concerning the tempo. Karajan decided on crotchet = 120 whereas Beethoven had written minim = 80.'

Takozvano zlo?

Lorenz joined the Nazi Party in 1938 and accepted a university chair under the Nazi regime. In his application for membership to the Nazi-party NSDAP he wrote in 1938: "I'm able to say that my whole scientific work is devoted to the ideas of the National Socialists." His publications during that time led in later years to allegations that his scientific work had been contaminated by Nazi sympathies: his published writing during the Nazi period included support for Nazi ideas of "racial hygiene" couched in pseudoscientific metaphors.
When accepting the Nobel Prize, he apologized for a 1940 publication that included Nazi views of science, saying that "many highly decent scientists hoped, like I did, for a short time for good from National Socialism, and many quickly turned away from it with the same horror as I." It seems highly likely that Lorenz's ideas about an inherited basis for behavior patterns were congenial to the Nazi authorities, but there is no evidence to suggest that his experimental work was either inspired or distorted by Nazi ideas.

No sense in war but perfect sense at home:

The sun beams down on a brand new day
No more welfare tax to pay
Unsightly slums gone up in flashing light
Jobless millions whisked away
At last we have more room to play
All systems go to kill the poor tonight

Gonna

američka kratka priča

'To bump into her... somewhere... whenever. To fall in love... fool her into falling in love with me... have a good time... good meaning continuing bliss of having everything so intensly that wanting anything else would be just a waste of time... get married... have kids... make decent people of them... have troubled times and have them remembered as times when we really were together... lay on the death bed saying to your kids that you're so fucked with that morphine drip that you feel like diving, having sex and getting a massage at the same time... have a friend of yours, a doctor, to end it all... you know, to have you discharged with your honour intact... something like that. I would like my life to be something like that.' – I thought as I bumped into her.
'You stupid fuck! Go back to the Zoo or find yourself a nice tree if you don't get it yet that other people walk around too... and they do manage not being at the same place and at the same time with someone else...' – she said, looking really angry
'I really am sorry... they changed my medications so I'm getting used to them... in a day or two I'll be able to remember events like this one...' – I responded with a smile.
She looked at me, smiled back and kicked me in the balls. I've never been kicked in the balls by someone who really ment to kick me in the balls. The pain was immediate and strong and getting stronger at horribly progresive pace. I found my self with my face on the pavement not believeing that all this was real. The policeman appeared in my sight, holding the girl under her arm... tightly... and asked if she was the one who hit me since he couldn't tell becouse the bus blocked his view for a momment.
'I don't know... what is going on... fuck!' – I answered honestly being temporarily mentaly disabled to deal with anything else but growing pain nesting among my guts like an iron snake.
'He is my brother... he is changing his meds... they said he might have seizuress but I didn't expect it to be so... oh, my God... what shall I do... can you call the anbulance, sir... please!' – she said almost histericaly, holding her face between the palms of her hands and looking completely lost.
'It's all right, officer... it's just an abdominal convulsion... there is no need for emergency, I should have stayed home, it's my fault...' – I responded quickly realising where all of this might end. I tried to stand up and she helped me eagerly.
'Oh, you scared me to death... mom sent me after you when she found out you were not in your room!' – she said with harsh voice. 'What a bitch' – crossed my mind as I improvised my safe way out of that potentialy horrible prospect of having a zero-ground in a police station...
'I'm back from Iraq... Basra... I'm not the only one from my battallion with simptoms like this... seizures, convulsions... first they thought it was PTSD... then something organic... or some kind of intoxication... I just want to go home... sis, help me please...' – I asked her grabing her firmly around her neck with my arm and starting to push her down the street.
'Thank you for your consern, sir... I go through this every day... not a problem. I'll be fine... I'll be fine...'
The policeman, young man of my age was silent for a while... and then he said –'I know you will...' – and saluted us in a military way. She saluted back as I pulled her away from him.
'OK... is it really meds or what...' – she asked without any intention to get loose from my gripp. I held her tight, slowly becoming able to bread normally and to straithen my back.
'I'm not gonna hurt you... I'm gonna kill you as soon... oh, fuck! Here it comes...' – I said leading her towards the bench at the edge of the park.
'What now? You have seisures or what? What is comming...' – she asked a little bit worried though I almost reliesed her from my hug.
'I dropped some acid... OK? I don't really know how much... it was in a liquid form... took one drop half an hour ago... and the onset is too fast... and too hard, so I took far, far too much... I don't wanna think about that. Fuck... ' – I said as my world started turning yellow and traffic lights began to melt...
'Oh... now I get it... ha, ha, ha... I would really like to read your statement about being brutally attacked by a girl... she turned on me, tuned me in and dropped me out... ha, ha...
this is good... and you're a freaky creature... Basra? Isn't that a British part... and I saluted a policeman... ha, ha... half an hour ago I found a condom in my boyfriends self help book... some tantra shit he was trieing to pull out... and I'm on pills, man... I'm on fucking pills, you get it? Name's Martha... so... I might stay and try to keep you out of trouble, OK... I mean... I did give you a kick start, ha ha ha...' – I heard her and her laughter somehow blew the fear away... and that was... oh, so good.
'I'm Harvey... I think' – I heard myself speaking at that very moment when time seized to exist as coherence label of my perception...
'Harvey? Don't tell me... you're a pooka, ha ha ha...' – asked a girl with caledioscop eyes.

Will Brown (a black man who lived with a white woman) vs. Radical Evil

"If you must hang somebody, then let it be me." – Mayor Edvard Smith

That's how people grow up' - Morrisey

I was wasting my time
Trying to fall in love
Disappointment came to me and
Booted me and bruised and hurt me

But that's how people grow up
That's how people grow up

I was wasting my time
Looking for love
Someone must look at me and
See their sunlit dream
I was wasting my time
Praying for love
For a love that never comes
From someone who does not exist

And that's how people grow up
That's how people grow up

Let me live
Before I die
No not me
Not I

I was wasting my life
Always thinking about myself
Someone on their deathbed said
There are other sorrows too

I was driving my car
I crashed and broke my spine
So yes there are things worse in life than
Never being someone's sweetie

That's how people grow up
That's how people grow up

That's how people grow up
That's how people grow up

As for me I'm okay
For now anyway

GOD DAMN

Whatever good man is able to do through his own efforts, under laws of freedom, in contrast to what he can do only with supernatural assistance, can be called nature, as distinguished from grace. Not that we understand by the former expression a physical property distinguished from freedom; we use it merely because we are at least acquainted with the laws of this capacity (laws of virtue), and because reason thus possesses a visible and comprehensible clue to it, considered as analogous to [physical] nature; on the other hand, we remain wholly in the dark as to when, what, or how much, grace will accomplish in us, and reason is left, on this score, as with the supernatural in general (to which morality, if regarded as holiness, belongs), without any knowledge of the laws according to which it might occur.

The concept of a supernatural accession to our moral, though deficient, capacity and even to our not wholly purified and certainly weak disposition to perform our entire duty, is a transcendent concept, and is a bare idea, of whose reality no experience can assure us. Even when accepted as an idea in nothing but a practical context it is very hazardous, and hard to reconcile with reason, since that which is to be accredited to us as morally good conduct must take place not through foreign influence but solely through the best possible use of our own powers. And yet the impossibility thereof (i.e., of both these things occurring side by side) cannot really be proved, because freedom itself, though containing nothing supernatural in its conception, remains, as regards its possibility, just as incomprehensible to us as is the supernatural factor which we would like to regard as a supplement to the spontaneous but deficient determination of freedom.

Now we at least know the laws of freedom (the moral laws), according to which it is to be determined. But we cannot know anything at all about supernatural aid–whether a certain moral power, perceptible to us, really comes from above or, indeed, on what occasions and under what conditions it may be expected. Hence, apart from the general assumption that grace will effect in us what nature cannot, provided only we have made the maximum use of our own powers, we will not be able to make any further use of this idea, either as to how (beyond a constant striving after a good life) we might draw down to us its cooperation, or how we might determine on what occasions to expect it. This idea is wholly transcendent; and it is even salutary to hold it, as a sacred thing, at a respectful distance, lest, under the illusion of performing miracles ourselves or observing miracles within us, we render ourselves unfit for all use of reason or allow ourselves to fall into the indolence of awaiting from above, in passive leisure, what we should seek within.

What a beautiful day (hey hey)
I'm the king of all time
And nothing is impossible
In my all powerful mind.
It was the fifth of November when time it went back,
Some say that's impossible, but you and I never looked back.
And wasn't it incredible, so beautiful and above all
Just to see the fuse get lit this time
To light the real bonfire, for all time.
I was drinking in the night club
It felt good to be back
When Hepburn said I love you
And Flyn said, make mine a double jack.
Then we planned the revolution,
To make things better for all time,
And when the barman said that was crazy
And ordered up a bottle of wine.
In there on the big screen, every night I've seen
The way all things could be
For me, for me, for me........
The news broke after midnight,
That we pulled the temple down without a sound
But the generals they were hiding out
And the ministers, Well! They'd all gone to ground.
Wealth re-distribution, became the new solution
So I got a paper bag, but you got the one with all the holes.
That's because nothing is impossible
In my own powerful mind.

Godina 2008.
