It is credited only to "The Woofers and Tweeters Ensemble," but even this obfuscates the most important point about this deservedly unappreciated genre - the best Singing Animal Records are those in which there are in fact no animals at all. The Beatle Barkers success (if in fact there is any) is derived from the fact that, unlike other Singing Animal records, the animal noises are in fact samples made by human beings.  Arctic Monkeys proglašeni su najboljim britanskim bendom na dodeli NME nagrada koja je održana 23. februara u Londonu. Arctic Monkeys su osvojili tri nagrade za najbolji novi bend, najbolju pesmu ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ i najbolji britanski bend. The Kaiser Chiefs, koji su bili nominovani u šest kategorija, dobili su samo jednu nagradu i to za najbolji album. Franz Ferdinand su osvojili nagradu za najbolji live act, dok su Oasis dobili nagradu za najbolji spot za pesmu ‘The Importance of Being Idle’. Ian Brown, nekadašnji frontman sastava Stone Roses, dobio je Godlike Genius nagradu. James Blunt odneo je nagradu za najgori album ‘Back to Bedlam’. Najbolji internacionalni bend je The Strokes, Solo umetnik Kanye West, najbolji muzicki DVD Live8, dok je Bob Geldof proglašen za heroja godine.  Posle nepunih 7 godina našeg truda i isto toliko godina ’komplikacija sa strane’, došao je trenutak za promenu. Neizvesnost koja je postala sastavni deo našeg radnog elana, uskoro će biti razrešena – Zakon o radiodifuziji će uskoro stupiti na snagu i samim tim RADIO 949, kao drugi, muzički program Studija B prestaće da postoji. Za sada je izvesno da se za nekoliko meseci više nećemo emitovati na 94.9fm, s obzirom na to da će ova frekvencija biti dodeljena nekoj drugoj regionalnoj radio stanici. O tome kakva je sudbina ovog radio programa koji je zahvaljujući viziji Slobe Konjovića i entuzijazmu svih njegovih saradnika od kojih je više od polovine volontera, javljaćemo vam, kada budemo imali neke konkretnije informacije. Ova situacija otvara prostor za ozbiljnu javnu raspravu o budućoj ponudi programa u lokalnom etru – uslovima i šansama za njihov opstanak, te o onome što je najvažnije, o sudbini nekomercijalno orijentisanih sadržaja u svim medijima. U nadi da nećemo biti samo kolateralna šteta čvrste ruke srpskog zakona, radimo na tome da ideja ovakvog one-man-show programa opstane, sa nama i vama kao aktivnim realizatorima te ideje.
