How it all began in 1963
Joybells there almost as long as there is a gospel music in Sweden.
1963 Youth of the Church of Emmanuel in Orebro was to create a choir led by Bengt Hallebi. Gathered together by the young people had one desire - to bring a bright pulse of the good news of Jesus Christ. It was then that spirituals was chosen as the direction for worship. This African-American direction was totally alien to the Swedish people.
Early meeting with American gospel music.
In the bud Chorus JoyBells, when he was still just called "Choir of Immanuel Church," there was a fateful meeting. Church of Sweden visited the Gospel Choir of the Church of Liberation in Chicago under rukovdstvom Pastor Ralph. Then a meeting with the team from the United States began a revolution in the work of many JoyBells and determined their future path.
"Joybells - ringing in my heart"
The name came from Joybells primerono since 1968, it was taken from a song Goodpasterurs, "Joybells - ringing in my heart," as sung there. The same date was the date of the first international tour as Joybells.
