I phoned my dad to tell him I had stopped smoking. He called me a quitter.

Sitting in the back of that Hummer, my head in a hood, my hands lashed behind my back, lurching back and forth while the bruises swelled up on my head, terrorism suddenly felt a lot riskier.
You cannot run away from a weakness; you must sometimes fight it out or perish. And if that be so, why not now, and where you stand?
The trick is to make sure you don't die waiting for prosperity to come.
Good taste is the enemy of comedy.
Keep cool and you command everybody.
It felt like they used a baton or something -- it was harder than anyone had ever hit me in the head before.
It is curious that physical courage should be so common in the world and moral courage so rare.
