We require from buildings two kinds of goodness: first, the doing their practical duty well: then that they be graceful and pleasing in doing it.

Bear in mind that you should conduct yourself in life as at a feast.
Only dull people are brilliant at breakfast.
Temptation rarely comes in working hours. It is in their leisure time that men are made or marred.
I cannot believe that the inscrutable universe turns on an axis of suffering; surely the strange beauty of the world must somewhere rest on pure joy!
Feeling grateful to or appreciative of someone or something in your life actually attracts more of the things that you appreciate and value into your life.
Beware the pull on your heartstrings -- it's often the pursestrings that are actually being reached for.
Feet, why do I need them if I have wings to fly?
