Houshin Engi picked up by VIZ + fic recs

VIZ has picked up Houshin Engi. Admittedly, my first thought went something like, "I wonder just how ugly they can make the covers", because goddamn, I hate the style of a lot of their covers. Besides, I can't really comment on what the quality of the translation will be like, since I'm not familiar with current VIZ translations, the most recent ones I've read being the flipped Fushigi Yuugi. However, if it attracts more people to the fandom, I'm all for it.I trawled the HE section of ff.net, and managed to weed out several fics I quite like. There was a lot of stupid humor fics and a crossover with Fushigi Yuugi which I originally thought could have had potential, but turned out to be so poorly paragraphed I couldn't follow it, but there were a few gems.Declaration, by hypertiaGen, hints of Youzen/Taikoubou. Youzen makes a statement that takes Taikoubou aback.Flat Flower, by Arashi1Gen, hints of Taiitsu Shinjin/Nataku. Shin had answers.It makes me very sad that it's so hard to find HE mp3s. I've managed to recover four image songs and a .wma version of Hi no Ataru Basho at 32 kbps, but that's it. I want Tenka's non-depressing songs. I miss my seiyuu version of Hi no Ataru Basho. I want 1 2 3 back. I want the silliness of Daijoubu ssa. Why does no one seem to have them?! *cries*... Now that I'm over that. I really love A PROOF OF BIRTH ~Tanjou no Akashi~, but the thought of Nataku singing it almost makes me want to burst out in nervous giggles. Since I've never seen the anime, I can't say how Miyata-san does as Nataku, but I listen to that song and I think that his voice sounds better suited to Raishinshi, not Nataku. And I wouldn't have picked Matsumoto Rika to do Raishinshi either. (I tend to associate her with Bakura, and Raishinshi ... is so not Bakura.)Also, if anyone wrote Sengyoku/Doukouson, I would think that was totally awesome.
