43. Meeting with Neil Tennant
"Did you see me coming?
Was I that obvious?
For all of a sudden
There were just the two of us "
(Pet Shop Boys Neil Tennant / Chris Lowe, "Did you see me coming")
"Ordering drinks at the bar
Looking for love, and getting
Nothing that's worth regretting
But wondering why we travel so far "
(Pet Shop Boys Neil Tennant / Chris Lowe, "To speak is a sin")
On Sunday, 29.11.2009. The morning I went to see at the train station to see what is the train that runs from Zagreb to Budapest, my plan was to go after a performance in Zagreb to Bratislava via Budapest.
Then I went to Mass at the cathedral, and previously I was, of course, walked around the Hotel Esplanade. The cathedral was beautiful, I remember the interesting part of the sermon on the Frenchman who in difficult moments of his life žireve planted in the hope that some of them bear, in the end made a vast beautiful forests. I stayed in the cathedral after Mass, I began to follow and the next mass yet I soon left.
Again I walked towards the railway station and of course I wanted a moment to look around the hotel Esplanade again. Moving from street called ULICA LJUDEVITA GAJA I saw a man walking slowly.
It was Neil Tennant! He came to me just made, I hoped that I would (then) see. We crossed the road through pedestrian crossings, each in his direction, acted as though we'll pass. Of course I did not want to allow.
"Hello Mister Tennant, do you want drink with me in some bar?"-I have spoken quite normal welcoming him and inviting him to drink.
"Oh no, no" - he responded by rejecting my suggestion.
"Welcome in Zagreb" - were words of welcome that I have still managed to say.
He laughed, at least something. It's better than nothing, I supposse.
Then he summoned a nearby taxi. It was not the first time that I met the singer Pet Shop Boys, but this meeting was special because no one (as is often the case in Zagreb at about noon), except for us it was not. Only Neil and myself.
