Oh my god, that is amazing pizza. And it’s dominos pizza, and I’m eating it in Istanbul. Maybe it’s not New York Pizza but as I learned in Economics, the situation affects the value, and in Istanbul, when you have eaten kebab and cucumber tomato salad and doner until you’re ready to kick off, Dominos pizza, made with Turkish ingredients tastes like a slice, quite literally, of heaven. I had no intention of having American pizza mind you, it just happened. I mean, that pizza reached out and grabbed me. I was walking down the street between Sirkegi where I live (funny what constitutes where you live, anyway, where my hotel is) and looking for food. I was hungry and had 10 YTL (lira). Now even at the lokantas where working men eat, can’t eat for 10 YTL unless you’re in the outskirts, which I wasn’t, or you eat cheap. So I was looking for a cheap option or on option at which I could use a credit card. At that moment it occurred to me that dominos pizza I really wanted was a beer, not an Efes pilsen either, the local beer of Turkey which is kind of like Skopsko or Michelob but a Guinness.
