Mirko blurbs + bbbmarc blurbs

Zagreb Airport - Mirko and his son Ivan on arrival
Now we've got 7 winners:
Minotauro Nogueira, Mirko CroCop, Fabricio Werdum, Josh Barnett, Kazuyuki Fujita, Mark Hunt and Hidehiko Yoshida, for 8 places in quarterfinals clash. Of course 8th place DSE are holding reserved for defending GP champion Fedor Emelianenko.
And now when Alexander, Fedor's little brother lost of Barnett – I think that we could expect Fedor to join in the competition. In my opinion - if Alexander stayed in the tournament Fedor would stayed out, and let his teammate Roman Zentsov to jump in., and probably he would wait till the end of OWGP and then face the winner on Pride FC NYE show, as was previously rumored. Mirko also had a comment on Fedor situation: - "It's kind of unfair (for Fedor to join in 2nd round) for rest of us who had to fight our way, then again – I'll be glad if he's gonna enter the tournament – cause without him some people would probably underestimate the whole OWGP – like; it's easy to win when Fedor was out."
When asked who'd like to fight or avoid in 2nd round Mirko said: - "I don't care, it's all the same for me – maybe it'd better to fight stronger opponent in 2nd round to clear out the way to finals. Ok, I'd like to avoid Fabricio, who's my teammate and training partner." Mirko comment on Werdum fight was: - "Fabricio wasn't in his best form, his performance was bad, luckly he won."
Back to start – 2nd round possible match-ups:
situation-A
via Pride FC likely expected brain-work:
Yoshida vs Fujita – This fight will bring in some huge ratings in Japan and will secure a place for japanese fighter in the final tournament.
Barnett vs Fedor – Barnett beat Fedor's little bro and called out Fedor – now the Champ should come and fight Barnett for revenge (and for GP belt)
Minotauro vs Werdum – This match-up could give us the answer on question; who is the best bjj-master among HWs in MMA today.
CroCop vs Hunt – Another question could be answered after this match-up; Whos the best striker among HWs in MMA today, plus they already fought and it was a very close fight – and judge decision left whole CroCop Team with a bad taste in their mouths.
situation-B
via my personal preference:
Yoshida vs CroCop – Judokai against Kickboxer, could Yoshida stand and trade with Mirko or is Mirko's groundgame good enough to excape from Yoshida's dangerous submission.
Hunt vs Fujita – Who is the toughest man in MMA, or who's iron chin is really unbreakable
Fedor vs Barnett & Minotauro vs Werdum – same reasons I wrote in situation-A
situation-C
via my blurbs about something:
Yoshida vs Werdum – Yoshida had easiest opponent in 1st round and Werdum had the toughest (in my opinon) – so let them fight each other now
CroCop vs Minotauro – this fight must happen, it's better now than in semis (or later), Minotauro hasn't fought anyone of top fighters for ages, and Mirko could prove 2 things (at least): that his ground-game is much better than it was in their 1st fight and to show was Minoutaro saved by the bell or not.
Hunt vs Fedor – Hunt also had an easy road to 2nd round fighting retireing mma-veteran and Fedor wasn't fighting at all – let them have each other
Barnett vs Fujita – Both of fighters had a pretty hard way to quarter-finals and they're by many considered as potential losers (of Alexander/Thompson) – but they proved themselves and both made an impressive come-back. They aren't among top contenders of the tournament – but they're good enough (and fully deserved) to fight for one spot in semis.
