What I failed to mention is that, of course, these friends help me in many and various ways even though they ae not always aware of it. Some of them are somewhat embarrased by my apparent (but never true) "monetary solvency", but that's not my problem. This month I still have some money to throw around, next month my salary goes down for 25%. It's gonna be FUCKIN' DIFFICULT to survive on netto 500 euros for month, in a country where two deciliters of watery beer costs 2 euros... down from 1,400 netto (after all expenses) euros per month.
But it's going to be an extremely useful exercise of responsible fiscal practises, that's for sure. I should have been able to save a shitload of money in these ten years and still I've only managed to reduce my debts to 13,000 euros. Of course, the fucking contractor still haves my 26 grand, but has spent it on other shit. I just get fucked and fucked and fucked from all sides this year, but I think there's finally the LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL, and unlike the first time earlier this summer, I don't think it's another Train Coming to run me over.
I saw again the integral version of the Apocalypse Now yesterday and now identify strongly with Marlon Brandon's character, Col. Kurtz. In the documentary about "the making of..." they refer to his character as being crazy. The guy is not crazy, he's a genious!!! The fact some people have problem recognizing (or better: appreciating) his genious is not his problem, it's exclusive theirs.
