I'm not religious but I do think there's a need for balance. There's a + and a - in everything in nature. When something good happens eventually something bad will be in the picture. The positive upside is the fact that when all shit goes down you can expect a better day soon. Whatever we do, we can't have it good all the time, we can just try to make it that way :)

kak bi rekla moja frendica:" ne možeš bit ovca i imat novce"...translation: not everything can be great... true, sometimes u'r more lucky, and sometimes u'r less fortunate, but that's the way the world worx, u cant change that... all u can do is concentrate on the good things happening to u, and try to avoid the bad things... sure it's no fun if something bad happens to u, but when u think about it, it wouldn't be fun if everything was so peachy all the time either, don't u think so? my point: u can't change the way the world worx, but u CAN choose not to give up when u'r feeling down, and to go on... pozdraF

Well, I'm not quite sure what your point is. There's balance, and always has been. But on the question of why children die, well, they die just the same as everyone else dies! In theological context, you might really be asking are they being punished by death? And the answer is no. People of old testament used to believe that when something bad aflicts them, that they were punished becasue of their lack of faith or because they did something evil. But Jesus clarified this, and said that one has no relation to the other. Some people just get sick, have bad luck or what have you.

On question of life, I think we are here for a reason. If you have no faith in God, then your life might as well be all about making the most of it now, while you're alive. If you do have faith then you'll realize that you are here to prove yourself worthy of another life, to show God's love to others around you and to live your life to the fullest potential the way God wants us to (which is not so selfish). And no faith is not about happiness, which is what most people seem to ask, when they hear you have faith. Is it going to make me happy? Faith is much more than that, and at times may require sacrifice. But of course that is not the lifestyle being promoted by the sinful world today. It's all about instant gratification, about wanting more, and throw-away everything from things we buy, to people we meet.

Perhaps evil and good do have equal chance, but before we look at the world and judge it, we should look within ourselves. What is reining with in us. Is it faith in good God, or is perhaps evil taking root. Didn't Jesus say this, accept the good news and behold, the kingdom of God is within you? You may not be able to change the world, but you can change yourself.

    Just a few thoughts.

i would like to comment mario's comment... yes, a faith can ba a sanctuary, while it does require sacrifices. but it is hard to believe when believers are being led by fools and ignorants. i am a chatolic, but i feel more and more dettached from my faith when i see what religion is prommoting. for example, the pope, who is incarnation of pure evil in my opinion, announced that people involved with abortion in any way will be excommunicated. i am against abortion, but that is ludacris! also, he "revealed" that contraception is evil, sex is evil, gay people are evil, even thinking about sex is evil and u will go to hell if u don't repent your sins... and that kind of "man" is the head of religion with, i don't know, about 1.5 billion believers! also, there are the muslim, who are also being led by extremists who prommote violence, killings, wars, etc. i'm not sayin that religion is bad by default, but i'm tryin to say that people believe in wrong things. if there is a god who would sent me to hell just because i used a condom, than i'm not sure that i wanna believe in that god. u know what i mean? maybe we should all just try to be a good person and do good things, instead of blindly following the words of the mad man... i hope i didn't offend anyone with this critique of faith...

Kelj-affa I. D Magnificen: I think you are mistaken quite a bit actually. No one in Catholic church is saying that sex is evil or that gay people are evil. What is being said is that sex was ment for procreation. If you start perverting God's intention of things and start using sex for pleasure only, that then eventually leads to prostitution and abuse of women, commercialization of sex and all the wonderful things this world has produced. Even at personal level, having sex just for pleasure often leads to broken relationships and abuse, because deep down we all want more than that. We want acceptance, we crave love, we crave fulfilment, and in the end we don't get it.

Abortion is killing of another human being. You don't even have to be christian to believe that since there's nothing to believe, it's a human being with a beating heart.

I think you are horribly misinformed about your own faith, what it teaches and what it professes. And that my friend is leading you astray. You are too "in this world" (and we know who rules with it), to see the truth and how the things were meant to be. This is why God's view seems too crazy to you, and "the man" that stands for it, as a defender of faith seems like a lunatic to you. But, seek the knowledge, and always question where is it coming from. What is the agenda behind it. What is Gods perspective on this and why? What is the world's perspective and why?

And remember anything that's not sinful is spiritual.

first of all, mario, i said i'm against abortion, but to excommunicate people because of it is hypocritical... it is a murder, just like any other, but i don't see regular murderers being excomunnicated, do i?
and if i wanna have sex just 4 pleasure, who is the pope to tell i'm gonna burn in hell? just because he can't have sex, it doesn't mean that the rest of us have to suffer to... i have a lot more to tell about this topic, but i prefer to remain silent... pozz
