An authentic iridescent ocean blue Roman glass chip, (from the Roman Period, approx 2000 years old) is wrapped in fired copper. Combined with natural aquamarine and blue flashing labradorate, sterling silver beads and a swirling sterling silver toggle clasp. The measures of the glass chip are: 1-7/8inch x 1-1/8inch (47mm x 30mm) The necklace is 42cm (16-1/4inch) I used 0.4mm solid copper sheet to wrap the Roman glass. The beautiful patina is achieved by fire. No chemicals were used. I burnished the copper to a nice shine. The copper is left untreated, and will continue to develop it's own warm patina trough aging.
