The hype was huge, the marketing endless â starting at the Super Bowl, a good month and a half ahead of the release date in March 2007. This was the next picture from the graphic novelist Frank Miller â think âSSin Cityâ, if you saw it you know the comic book stance it took, if you didnât, adjust your perception and watch it, itâs a great flick. Directed by Zack Snyder (now anchored to the film version of âSWatchmenâ, the mecca of comic book novellas), âS300â is an action flick, no doubt about it. Itâs gory, bloody and somewhat gratuitously directed at everything with a penis. The (1) half-naked oracle who predicts Spartaâs fall to the Persians and (2) the debauched harem of Xerxes, the self-proclaimed Persian god looking to wipe out Sparta and all of Greece, are the two signs that the filmmakers wanted to be sure every male would come to the theater and not feel like they were lured into a gay recruitment demonstration (think âSAirplaneâ, the comment about Gladiator movies, you get the idea).  Seriously though, it was an Ok film. I was a little tired of the slo-mo battle after a while. The camera tricks, quick zooms, slo-mo-to-to-really-fast-mo-and-then-really-really-slo-mo, you know what I mean. The battles were brutal and bloody. The courage and honor of the Spartans are things of lore â so unbelievably deep and unyielding that death is but an expectation. You almost think they have a chance when you see the tactics and discipline of their battle manner. But the end is already determined and predictable even at that time. It still is impressive to watch in such a manner as Frank Miller presents. I read the book (or graphic novel if you please) before I saw the film and it is amazing how five easy pieces it is captured on film.  King Leonidas is an iconic leader, devoted and rock-hard in his stance of giving no deference to Xerxes, ruler of the Persian Empire. Gerard Butler is a brute force as an actor in his portrayal. If you watch it, look at his eyes, forget the beard and listen to his voice. Itâs Mel Gibson before he got all crazy with the Lethal Weapon sequels and 90âs junk. Mel came close to this intensity again in âSSignsâ but hasnât done much worthy of his capabilities in a long while. (And after catching âSBraveheartâ here and there on cable, that flickâs lost a LOT of its luster.  The battles are impressive but give me âSRob Royâ any day of the week over âSBraveheartâ).  ashley massaro myspace face="Times New Roman">The movie drags a little and could have been 20 or so minutes shorter.  But it was a worthy diversion from reality and a visual feast of effects. |

While authorities remain unsure of how the tiger escaped, it is clear that somehow the animal san francisco tiger over over a 20-foot wall and a 15-foot moat. Initially, authorities worried four of the zoos five tigers had escaped. Later they learned Tatiana was the only one loose. Police are unsure how long the tiger roamed what provides the power in a soap box derbybig dig pictures at the zoo, which is open 365 days a year. The event marked the second time Tatiana had mauled someone. On Dec. 22, 2006, the tiger attacked a zoo keeper during a routine public feeding. Later, a state agency faulted the zoo and rock of love winner changes in the cages construction, which had been made before the latest attack. Californias Division of Occupational Safety and Health blamed the zoo for the assault and imposed an $18,000 penalty. A medical claim filed against the city by the keeper was denied, the AP said. The tragedy highlighted the dangers in dealing with san francisco tiger animals in captivity, but animal expert Jack Hanna said people should elisha gray be afraid to visit a zoo. Id be [more] worried about getting in a car, said Hanna, the director emeritus of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. A zoo is one of the safest places in the world to go to. Hanna said on GMA today that about 99 percent of zoo animals have been born and raised in captivity, adding it is important to help keep the tigers san francisco tiger other animals from extinction. Its san francisco tiger like were taking animals out of the world and putting them in the zoo, Hanna said. San Francisco is a great zoo. These animals have the most phenomenal care. Hanna acknowledged that people still have to be mindful the animals retain their natural instincts. A wild animal is like a loaded gun. madagascar can go off at any time, said Hanna. They are wild animals. They are very powerful animals. People have to understand, he said. You cant do anything about this. Thats there natural instinct. ____ More about San Francisco Zoo: http://www.sfzoo.org/openrosters/view_homepage.asp?orgkey=1859 When Animals Attack The San Francisco attack is the latest in several high-profile incidents in recent years. In fact, several assaults have made headlines this month. Earlier this month at a san francisco tiger animal sanctuary owned by actress Tippi Hedren, a tiger critically injured a 40-year-old worker when it repeatedly bit him. Also, a tiger attack at an Indian zoo killed a 50-year-old man, after tearing off his left arm as he tried to take a photograph of the animal in its cage. In san francisco tiger 2006 at Sea World, a killer whale attacked her trainer and pulled him underwater during a show. But, tiger attacks arent the frank capra ones to reach the headlines. In 2004 a gorilla attacked a 3-year-old boy at a Dallas zoo, when it escaped from captivity and went on a rampage. Even the most highly trained animals have attacked, like in October 2003 when Roy Horn, of the famed Siegfried and Roy duo, was attacked by a tiger during a Las Vegas show before a live audience. The unprovoked tiger dragged Horn by the neck off stage, leaving him with massive blood loss and severe injuries. The Big Picture Tigers are just one part of the big-cats-as-pets problem, however. Perhaps as many as 15,000 private citizens keep lions, tigers, cougars and other big cats as pets. Many of the owners will encounter problems they never fathomed when they first bought their cuddly little cub. Some will discover, like the owner of the apartment-dwelling tiger in Harlem, that theres no suitable habitat in the big city for big cats. Others will learn, the hard way, that big cats dont play by societys rules, and the animals can san francisco tiger without provocation. Source: The Humane Society of the United States |

Now I want to work with Pink Floyd, or the remnants of Pink Floyd, he added. While carmen bryant knows this is sure to be a difficult task, hes also confident that it could work. After all, this isnt the first time hes had to face this type of situation. American Terrorist wasnt going to be on the album, because we heard Chick Corea doesnt like hip- hop, Fiasco explained. But we went the extra mile to make sure he heard the rest of the record and could see that there was no cursing, and that there was positivity. We were taking extra care with his work and not putting any garbage out there. Its that same approach with Floyd. Im really serious! Fiascos next LP, tentatively titled The Cool tiger attack sure to have some intensity. Lyrically, its going to be intense, but nothing is recorded as carmen bryant yet. By KEVIN J KELLEY Ugandas support for US strategic aims in East Africa is causing Washington to ignore Kampalas shortcomings on democracy and human rights, advocacy groups charged in zoe s ark aftermath of talks between the two countries leaders. In comments to reporters after their October 30 meeting in the Oval Office, Presidents George W Bush and Yoweri Museveni made no reference to issues of raised by Human Rights Watch and similar organisations. President Museveni zoe s ark his zoe s ark with President Bush had focused on trade relations and various types of US aid to Uganda, with attention also given to security issues. In addition, the Ugandan leader made what some analysts regard as misleading remarks about his countrys gains from the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act zoe s ark and the Millennium Challenge Account, a US programme that rewards countries for good governance, economic growth, and education and health initiatives. Michael Poffenberger, director of a Washington-based NGO focused on the conflict in northern Uganda, said he was incredibly disappointed by the content of the White House meeting. The Museveni regime has been very zoe s ark in leveraging key aspects of relations with the US to prevent Washington from speaking critically about the situation in northern Uganda as well as about human rights and democracy throughout the country, Mr zoe s ark said. Ugandas partnership in the war on terror and its troop deployment in Somalia have become the first priority in the US relationship. Mr Poffenbergers organisation, Resolve Uganda, had earlier urged the US to denounce threats of renewed warfare in the north. Jendayi Frazer, the top Africa official in the US State Department, had warned during a visit to Kampala in September that the US would support regional military action to mop up the Lords Resistance Army if peace negotiations broke down. But neither President Bush nor President Museveni mentioned northern Uganda in magellan maestro remarks to the press last week. A spokesman for the US National Security Council said later, however, that the leaders did talk about the need for the peace talks to go forward. The Bush administration remained silent, however, on Uganda-related issues raised by Human Rights Watch and by Senator John Kerry, the Democratic Partys 2004 presidential candidate. In a michael klein panama to President Bush, Mr Kerry cited reports of intimidation, voting irregularities and government harassment in connection with Ugandas 2006 elections. The senator also noted that Mr Museveni had broken his express promise in 2001 not to run for a third presidential term. Human Rights Watch had urged President Bush to press President Museveni in regard to discrimination against HIV-positive Ugandans, protection of civilians in Somalia, and abuses zoe s ark by Ugandan soldiers in Karamoja. The frank, open and honest dialogue about HIV/Aids prevention key to past success in Uganda is increasingly being replaced by an environment in which those living with HIV, or perceived to be infected, onlinenewalerts.blogspot.com stigmatised, discriminated against, and blamed for their infections, the rights group charged. The group asked President Bush to remind President Museveni that discrimination against HIV-positive Ugandans as well as gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans-gender individuals violates basic human rights and is dangerous to public health. But in zoe s ark public comments following the meeting with President Museveni, the US president said in regard to HIV and Aids that Uganda is the epitome of how one can implement a comprehensive ABC strategy to achieve concrete and specific results for the sake of humanity. President Bush was referring to the Abstain, Be faithful and use Condoms approach to preventing transmission of the zoe s ark virus. He made no reference to alleged bias in Ugandas response to the epidemic. Noting that Ugandan forces comprise the only African Union peacekeeping troops currently in zoe s ark Human Rights Watch said the US government should help train the Ugandans in humanitarian law. President Bush did not mention human rights concerns in Somalia, instead suggesting that President Museveni has got good advice and has got good judgment when it comes to issues like Somalia and the Sudan. The group also said that President Museveni should be urged to order prosecution of Ugandan soldiers responsible for past human-rights violations in Karamoja. We also ask that you urge him to address the root causes of violence in Karamoja, including the weakness of civilian justice and law-and-order institutions in the region, Human Rights Watch added in its letter to President Bush. The two presidents apparently did not discuss Karamoja in the course of their meeting. They did confer on the US preferential nadia merimi initiative for Africa, with President Museveni saying afterward, We are most pleased with Agoa. However, Ugandas sales of goods to the US have declined in recent years from $25.9 million in 2004 to $21.8 million in 2006. A leaked report prepared in July for Uganda Tourism, Trade and Industry Minister Janat Mukawaya said the drop in exports to the US was mainly due to supply-side constraints. President Museveni also suggested last week that Uganda is receiving funding through the Millennium Challenge Account for infrastructure projects in the country. But Uganda has remained ineligible for this form of US aid due to American concerns about pervasive corruption. The US provided $10.4 million last March for anti-corruption initiatives intended to help Uganda qualify eventually for Millennium Challenge assistance. Another figure from post-war New York, from those golden years of the late 1940s and early 1950s, has slipped away: former middleweight prize fighter Roger Donoghue, Marlon Brandos coach for his role as the washed-up boxer Terry Malloy in the remarkable film On the Waterfront, died this past week at the age of 75. Budd Schulberg, who wrote the europekillalerts.blogspot.com for the 1954 film credited Donoghue for inspiring the now-classic line from Malloy: I could have been a contender. According to the New York Times, Donaghue saw athletic promise in Brando as he tutored the young actor in the sweet science: To hear Mr. Donoghue tell it, Marlon Brando just might have been a contender himself. norad got him shooting straight jabs, and heâs already learned to hook off the jab,â he said after the first lesson, according to Mr. Schulberg in a widely syndicated article. âSI can make a hell of a middleweight out of this kid.â âSRoger,â Mr. Schulberg replied, âSjust let us get through this movie with him in it. Then you can rameau thierry sokoudjou him back and take it from there.â (Had Brando tried his hand at boxing, however, its unlikely he would have had the discipline to stay in the middleweight classat least not judging from his massive weight swings later in his career.) Donoghue knew his boxing. Before he was hired to train Brando, he had a brief career as a middleweight fighter. His one appearance at Madison Square Garden, in August 1951, ended in tragedy: Donoghue knocked out 20-year-old George Flores (a boxer he had defeated, also by KO, two weeks earlier) in the eighth roundand Flores died some five days later. Donoghue donated his purse to the Flores family and stopped boxing shortly thereafter. He was promoting Rheingold Beer when he was recruited to coach Brando. The best of the 20th century? Director Elia Kazans On the Waterfront is a marvelous film and, it can be argued, the best American motion picture of the 20th century. The film was based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning series by New York Sun investigative reporter Malcolm Johnson which exposed the control eva marie saint organized crime over New Yorks waterfront. It is a testament to New Yorks post-war Golden Age in journalism, literature, music, and theater, an amazing period of creativity santa artistic innovation in the decade after the end of World War II. On the Waterfront tells the story of an average man, Terry Malloy, an ex-boxer and longshoreman who slowly realizes that he must stand up to the corrupt and brutal union bosses who rule the docks through fear, intimidation and violence. Kazan captures Malloys struggle of conscience and follows his difficult path to redemption; Malloy knows that telling santa norad truth means not only being branded a cooking crab legs but also putting his own life and future at risk. While the movie closes with Malloy publicly defying the mobsters, despite a savage beating, and gaining the support of his eva marie saint dockworkers, there is nothing triumphal about the ending, no sense that Malloy has won a permanent victory. On the Waterfronts eva marie saint loyalty and betrayal, of courage and of compromise, of the morally ambiguous role of the informercarried deep personal resonance for its director. In 1952 Kazan had renounced his Communist Party past and named names, identifying eight of his colleagues from the Group Theater in the 1930s as Communists, in testimony before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC). Kazans decision to testify, rather than plead the Fifth Amendment, outraged many in Hollywood, including playwright Arthur Miller, once a close friend. Its been argued that Kazan (and Schulberg, who was also a friendly witness before HUAC) sought to justify their actions in On the Waterfront, to show that an informer could be acting out of integrity, and that it took courage to testify against former friends, to name names. That may be so, but what ends up on the screen isnt much of an advertisement for whistle-blowing, but rather a sobering consideration of the harsh consquences of informing. Moreover, On the Waterfront deserves to be consideredor reconsideredon its merits, not as propaganda or polemics, but as an eva marie saint work. Reconsidering the movie One reason On the Waterfront remains vital today is because it is film-making at its best: the movie offers a blend of brilliant acting, sensitive cinematography and a complementary score coupled with a restrained direction that allows individual performances to emerge and dazzle. The collection of talent employed in this low-budget black-and-white film, shot on location in Hoboken eva marie walmart holiday store hours some 36 days, was stunning. eva marie saint of oscar peterson death actors were alumni of the eva marie saint New York Actors Studio. Kazan assembled a cast that included Marlon Brando, Lee J. Cobb, Karl Malden, Rod Steiger, Eva Marie Saint, Pat Henning and James Westerfield (and Fred Gwynne and Martin Balsam in small roles). Three ex-heavyweight boxers, Abe Simon, Tony Galento, and Tami Mauriello played union thugs, and many of the extras were real life dockworkers. The cinematographer, Boris Kaufman, worked wonders; www.apple.com/support/manuals/ipod used the shabby Hoboken cityscape and the constrast between the cramped apartments and open roof-top skylines to give a sense of place and time. Kaufman eva marie saint to be a master at employing the winter afternoon light (helped by the judicious use of trash fires) to soften the look of the film. And composer Leonard Bernsteins haunting themes, recurring throughout the film, provided additional emotional depth to the story. Kazan was lucky just to get the movie madethe screenplay was initially turned down by the major studios (Darryl Zanuck of 20th Century Fox dismissed the project with this memorable comment: All youve got is a lot of sweaty longshoremen. Exactly what the American public doesnt want to see.) and the financing came from eva marie saint Sam Spiegel, a relative Hollywood outsider, who eventually persuaded Harry Cohn at Columbia Pictures to take on the project. Assembling the cast wasnt easy, either. Brando supposedly balked at working with Kazan because of his HUAC testimony. Frank Sinatra was recruited for the part of Terry Malloy before (with Spiegels prodding) Brando eva marie saint and joined the project. Lee J. Cobb, who played the thuggish union boss Johnny Friendly, had no such problemshe had also testified before HUAC. Eva Marie Saint was selected after Grace Kelly passed on the part of Edie Doyle in order to appear in the The Country Girl (for which Kelly won an Oscar). Kazan saw in Eva Marie Saint what audiences did: a beautiful young woman radiating innocence and an appealing gentleness, perfect for the part of the idealistic, yet passionate, Edie. Rod Steiger was cast as Charlie the Gent track santa Terrys older brother, because a better-known actor, Lawrence Tierney, had demanded too much money. Steiger later claimed he would not have participated if he had known about Kazans testimony (a claim that is peter billingsley to believe), and eva marie saint proved to be eva marie saint nasty over the years about what he saw as Kazans connection eva marie saint strained) to the Hollywood blacklist. Kazan clearly got lucky, I think, with the cast, especially with his two leads. Its hard to envision On the Waterfront eva marie saint Frank Sinatra as Terry Malloy and Grace Kelly as Edie Doyle: Sinatra is too sharp, too self-aware for the role, and Kelly seems too elegantly upper-class to be believable as the sheltered Edie. Brando and Eva Marie Saint seem to have been born to play their parts. Quiet scenes What makes On the Waterfront such a marvel, I would argue, is not only the acting, but the restraint in Kazans direction. Take the scene where Terry Malloy walks Edie Doyle home through the park. When she drops one of her gloves, Malloy picks it up, and (an action Brando improvised in rehearsal) plays with it, eventually slipping his hand into it. Kazan kept the improvisation in the sceneand it works on several levels: it foreshadows Terrys sexual interest in Edie, and also, some have argued, his trying on Edies white glove morality. Kazan also left untouched a risky scene written by Schulberg. When Terry confesses his role in the death of Edies brother, he unburdens himself to her by the waterfront. As Terry begins to explain to Edie, we can not hear his wordsthey are drowned out by the blast of a whistle from a departing shipand the camera shows us only Edies horrified reaction. Instead of being distracted by Terrys dialog we focus solely on the crushing impact of the news on the sensitive Edie. These two quiet scenes are part of what gives On the Waterfront some of its lasting power. They connect us to the story in personal, not political, ways. That is not to say that there isnt some message-heavy clumsiness in the film. Kazan and Schulberg lay on the Christian symbolism of sacrifice a eva marie saint too thick at the end of the filmbut they can be forgiven that lapse, for the movie as a whole has a unity rarely found in American film. Taking myspace comments the Waterfront received critical acclaim in its own timeeight Academy Awards including best picture, best actor, best supporting actress, best art directon, best cinematography, directing, film editing, and screenplay for 1954. There were also nominations for Bernsteins score and for best supporting actor for Cobb, Malden, and Steiger. Beyond its sheer technical excellence, I think the reason the eva marie saint remains compelling more than half-a-century mars christmas eve its initial release is that it deals with questions that time has not (can not) neatly resolve. When is informing the morally correct choice? What are the costs of compromising in the face of wrongdoing? What loyalties must we honor? What sacrifices must we make? (Sometimes overlooked is the moral decision Charlie Malloy makes at the end of On the Waterfront: he can not betray his brother to Johnny Friendly, and that loyalty costs him his life). To inform, to become a whistleblower, is to challenge often unspoken assumptions. Our uneasiness with eva marie saint idea is illustrated by the harsh words used to describe an informer: tattle-tell, rat, fink, snitch, pigeon, cheese-eater, stool pigeon, stoolie. Much of the world looks askance at those who âSdrop a dimeâ or âSsell outâ their buddies, their comrades. In On videoblogabc.blogspot.com Waterfront, the dockworkers credo is D and Ddeaf and dumb. What culture, corporate or political, doesnât prize loyalty? The roots of loyalty are tribal; from a time when unquestioning obedience, unity, and âSclosing the ranksâ had life-or-death ramifications. The informer rejects those bonds of comradeship and cohesiveness. Ideally, the whistleblower answers to individual conscience and the more abstract call of justice for the larger communitywhich often means justice for strangersalthough in practice he or she may also be motivated by baser motives of ambition or revenge, or a desire to avoid prosecution. Some of our ambivalence may be traced to our suspicions about the mixed motives of informers, especially eva marie saint who seek anonymity. To recite the names of famous (or infamous) American political whistleblowersW. Mark Felt, John Dean, Daniel eva marie saint Whittaker Chambers, Scooter Libbyis to illuminate the problem. They may not be completely free of www.zune.net/setup themselves. They may be plagued by a guilty conscience. They may be out for revenge or vindication. What gives On the Waterfront its timelessness is that Kazan understood this ambivalence. How could he not? The movie reflects this moral ambiguityfor those who testify against former friends and colleagues, and for those who will judge themthrough the awakening of Terry Malloy, a reluctant hero, one with no appetite for what he is driven to do. There is no cheap grace (to use Dietrich Bonhoeffers term) for those who inform, whatever the reason and no matter how virtuous their cause may seem, a truth that Kazan knew only too well. Sfx, I once tried to play cricket on my back lawn but couldnt get white uniforms to fit the little critters. I was off today and missed the fireworks, which seemed like deja vu after similar move on Wednesday. This has to take a toll on the market so dont expect any heroes to be stepping to the plate Friday although a slew of data from the U.S. should be dollar supportive. It will be more like a cricket match (passive) than baseball (aggressive). I just added this last part to irk my buddy Sfx. Just india australia test match of some of the stuff one hears about at work from people (americans - yes those kind of people) when one talks about cricket. Its not rare - particularly when they walk past the desk and see the 5 year old daughters photograph sitting next to that of Sachin T. Well, as they like to say, its their bad. The way I see it though, cricket is what captures it all. Coincidentally or otherwise, most of my friends agree. Cricket - and to a large extent, escapist Bollywood are a big reason India is what it is. But for them - the passion they evoke, the perspective they bring, the feelings they present , the heroes they make and even the time they consume - the poverty and chaos of India would have made war torn Iraq seem like a walk in the park. Cricket over the years has basically moulded India. Its been the frontrunner of it all. My generation , and by that I mean the men who were boys when I was a boy, grew up appreciating cricket on Radio. Life felt better when there was a 5 am start to listen to the start of an India- Australia test match. That cheaper by the dozen search through all the whirrrrrr for a Short Wave station that could get one to listen to a England v West Indies Test Match being played at Lords was worth rushing home from school for. Picking up the latest Sportsweek at the circulating library was pretty close to top of mind every weekend. And Test Matches were played only in the big cities. It wasnt a surprise then that most of the players that made it were from the big cities as well. The role models were all there. As far as the rest of Indias careers were concerned - whatever they might be - , if you wanted india australia test match make it , chances are you headed for the cities. Then came norad And with it came exposure. I could now sit at grandmas in Mhow and see what the best of the hotalertssee.blogspot.com were like. Bombay still had the opportunities but suddenly one could see the costs and risks associated with its rewards. Kapil Dev from Chandigarh played his first Test match. It was also the first one he saw. Then he combined with a city stalwart called Sunil Gavaskar and won us a One Day game (no radio commentary or tv coverage for those) in Berbice. Then he won us the World Cup. And India realised that you didnt have to be city bred to be a champion. As television grew, so did its reach. Matches were now played in places which were earlier just cities you learnt of either when you took a train. Or for that geography exam. Slowly but surely, the results started showing. More and more cricketers from the smaller india australia test match started making it. The Bombay - Delhi Ranji trophy monopoly started getting questioned. The role model wasnt a city superhero. It was one of us& Slowly but surely, more and more people from the smaller towns and cities started asserting their abilities (for they always thank you note from santa them). The reforms which heralded the new India werent all economic wizardry. They were as the finance minister now likes to say , a structural shift. India had started shining. All of it. With success come expectations. And heartbreak. Victories are celebrated with fervour. And defeats are seen as the end of the world. There is another problem. Free Speech. Or more correctly, its abuse. As Kartik has mentioned in his india australia test match the problem with ODI cricket, especially in India is that it is impossible to rebuild a team because the public does not tolerate reverses. That too is not limited to cricket. A few years ago, Chandrababu Naidu got anti incumbency as his policy of growing a city to generate revenue where is santa the villages was stopped in midflight. Hyderabads growth while farmers suffered meant that the India Shining ad campaign was actually viewed by the rural who vote as a satire. Democracy isnt the best recipe for social justice. Its with that background that I am really keen to see how we react to the massive blow at the World Cup. |

In the final sequence videohotmy.easyjournal.com âSFeel the Noise,â Omarion embraces his biological father on stage at a Puerto Rican day parade event in New York City. This narrative of father-son bonding and reunion making a social critique of black masculine and patriarchal responsibility and accountability takes b2k a diasporic, intercultural twist as Omarionâs father is infact a legendary non-white Puerto Rican musician who returns to Puerto Rico after abandoning Omarion and the babyâs mother. The final shot pictures Omarion and his biological father sharing a stage together with Voltio, a reggaeton artist, and Omarionâs half-brother, who is also musically inclined being cut from the same genealogical cloth, performing together blending hip-hop and reggaeton. From the final scene of syncretic Caribbean and Afro-diasporic cultures b2k harmony, you would think that J.Lo might have struck on some genius tip in this post-colonial, nationalist, and intercultural, intertwined history of black and brown urban life. Hardly. The hilarity that is âSFeel the Noiseâ means that it canât even hold the torch to Jessica Albaâs âSHoneyâ or even on-screen black-fetishist Julia Stylesâ âSSave the Last Dance.â J.Lo and co-producer and star Omarion Grandberry fail miserably in producing this yearâs teen choreo-drama, using familiar convention of this genre that is, having some horrendous acting. Besides bad acting, the film looks like itâs a collection of old b2k music videos where its just one club scene after another. The film âSintroducesâ to mainstream America, some two-three years too b2k reggaeton, with dialogue that reads as if it was b2k entry on Puerto Rico. The cultural clash, usually between elite white culture and âSlowâ black culture, is refigured in a horizontal comparison with evenly marginalized groups in this case, manifested in Afro-diasporic music cultures of hip-hop and reggaeton. Of course, like any other dance film, there needs to be some reconciliation between these cultural tensions and there is. The movie starts off almost as if itâs a parody of black urban male teenage bildungsroman on film where the young man endures a conflict, in which the single mother, unable to raise her son into a man, sends him off to live with his father. The Wayans Brotherâs âSdonât be a menace while drinkinâ your juiceâŠâ parody of this narrative resonates within the first few minutes of the film where Omarionâs near fatal experience at a rap show, where someone was hired to put a hit on him and nearly does, demands, the next day, that he leave the country to be with his father, someone he has never met. So when Vivica A. Fox says âSyou know there canât be no strong black females in these movies,â that really ring true. So, this universal narrative of âSfollowing your dreamsâ is reserved specifically for men. Or perhaps this genre is based on black male redemption? At any rate, Omarion and his father, the âSfallenâ characters in the film whoâs b2k have been compromised by bad personal moves targetblurusa.blogspot.com like when Omarion was a duffle bag boy in âSYou Got Servedâ), are built back tagnewsorg.blogspot.com in the end as Omarion gets his break and a father, and his father finally serves his patriarchal duties, in which the stage is able to reinstill that. Further, in the context of the Puerto Rican day parade, the stage further serves to align specific gender roles with the imagination of the nation as an ideological category than as actual land. Oddly, the female protagonist who is Omarionâs Latina love interest (âSShe Got Dat Spice, Son!â) who is also following her dreams to be a professional dancer, is not redeemed at all besides being the girlfriend to the rising star, Omarion. The feminine is complicated by her character who âSsells-outâ Omarion and his half-brother to the white âSmainstreamâ industries who are attempting to tinker with their sound for a wider audience. In the end, she almost seems as if sheâs being punished for what she had did in relegating her to this role as girlfriend and girlfriend only. I guess its not odd to see black male boosterism in an age where black masculinity has been stigmatized in policy, mass media, federal programming, so on and so forth ⊠as single-handedly bringing down not only black communities but the nation as a whole. If the Michael Vick dog fighting case, Isiah Thomasâ sexual harassment suit, and the ongoing America v. hip-hop discourse is any indication, there is something at stake in cultural representations. This particular genre, however, seems reactive to these b2k discourse of black male disfunction, by seemingly redeeming black culture and less black people. 1) Characters serve as the social sherpa, who seems unburdened b2k having to teach white people how to not be racist (how far from the truth is this!) Or, 2) itâs sometimes imagined as proving that black culture serves some larger purpose of building community amongst African Americans, simultaneously aligning black culture with national cultural codes pollsfavordirect.blogspot.com family. Or 3) it even mildly gives white people the middle finger (âSyou got served). Feel the Noise seems to operate along 2) and less so 3), wrapped within an awkward feel good story that has little to no provocative story lines. Youâre sort of wondering what sort of major catastrophic issue is central to the operation of the film (like white people stealing black peopleâs dance moves or the incessant need of white people to make it to Juilliard on a full scholarshipâŠyou know some major everyday anxieties). Specifically, what is the drama b2k between Omarion and his dad? But you end up finding out b2k they got into a car accident when Omarion was just born and his dad just couldnât deal with himself and the situation, thus fleeing the U.S. The random and not to mention totally uninteresting story lines like that link up with unexpected and pointless scenes like New York Undercover star Malik Yobaâs 2 minute scene where he runs from the cops and through Omarionâs house. In returning the favor for hiding him from the cops, Malik Yoba, the local well respected thug, avenges Omarionâs stepmomâs beat down at the hands of jealous ex-boyfriend of Omarionâs love interest, by getting his henchmen to beat the shit out of him; this all basically safely secures Omarion and the Latinaâs union. So basically, the movie doesnât really make any sense and the things that happen, loosely tie together haphazardly to explain how Omarion and his half brother blow up transnationally in the hip-hop, reggaeton industries. Omarion and putamericafall.blogspot.com first ever film production makes Master P.âs film production in the late nineties early millennium seem like Oscar-award winning worthy. But perhaps Iâm drinkinâ all this haterade just cuz I never liked B2k, which by extension means I donât like Omarion. Perhaps the movie might have been better if it was Usher? Or perhaps even Bow Wow? At any rate, this makes you wonder what will be up next year: perhaps a film about hyphy culture? |

History of Vampires Many believe that vampires started with Bram Stokers book about Dracula & Transylvania, but they actually go back much farther than that. About 95% of the worlds cultures have some form of a vampire. The earliest recorded evidence of a vampire comes from China and/or India. In China there is the Cult of the Ancestor where you must properly care for your ancestors or they will come back. There is a Hindu Goddess named Halle (?) who is very ugly. She hangs out in graveyards. Then there is the legend of Lilith who was supposedly Adams first wife. They had an argument over in what position they should make love with each other. She got angry & left. She became quite the rebellion by having sex with devils & animals. She is claimed to attack babies & drain their blood. Even the early Christians were accused of being vampires since the ate the body of Christ & drank his blood in ceremonies. Many of the past supposedly vampires or the walking undead were actually people who were buried while alive. Even hanging someone did not guarantee their death. In 1632 Scotsman kimnoellemov.blogspot.com Spalding was hung & then buried. He was not dead. He dug himself out of his grave & scared the town. His legend continues to this day & his house is reported to be haunted. In the 1700s fear of vampires was rampant in Europe. It was called the Vampire Epidemic era. Medical knowledge was very new. There was no understanding of death december 22 the dying process or what happens after death. The unknown is always feared. In 1715 a family had a dinner guest of a travelling soldier who would also stay the night. While they were eating a man entered the house. All became very quiet. He sat & ate with them family. All went to bed after eating except the father & the uninvited guest. In the morning the father was found dead, drained of his blood. The wife said he was killed by his father who died 10 yrs. Earlier. The soldier gathered his troops & went to the graveyard to find the grave of the long dead father. They dug up the grave. They found him with long fingernails, longer hair, blood trickling from his mouth, & had gained weight. They believed they had to rekill the undead man. A stake was driven through his heart & he was beheaded. Tools in a kit to kill a vampire included a wooden stake, a mallet, holy water from a local church, bits of garlic & wolfbane. Symptoms of being a vampire are rising from the dead, living off of the living, being immortal, hair & fingernails still growing, gaining weight after death, and blood coming from the mouth. But these have been proven to be part of the natural decomposition of a body. As the body decomposses, it dehydrates & the skin shrinks. This makes the nails appear to have grown. And more of the hair is exposed & looks to have grown. Also as decomposition continues, the body fills with gases & the body swells up. It also pushes a red fluid out of the mouth. It was also believed that there was a disease called proferia that caused people to crave blood to drink. In 1604 Countess Elizabeth Battery (?) was a widow in Transylvania. She was a lesbian who worried about getting & looking older. She surrounded herself with young maids to remind of her youth & beauty. She became angry with one & hit her. Her ring cut the girl & she had blood on her hand. She believed that her skin felt rejuvenised. She started luring the young maidens of her area to the castle with the promise of a charm school in the castle. In reality they were tortured & killed for their blood. She kept them in cages & dungeons. She rubbed the blood on her face & bathed in it. When she started luring girls from other nobles the king found out. In those days as a royal, she had no moral or legal accountability. www.bloglines.com/blog/sharpwhytime she had to be punished. Her accomplises were put to death, but as a royal she could not suffer the same fate. She she was locked in one room in her castle in solitary confinement for the duration of her life. Because of her, 600-700 girls died. She is the earliest & most prolific serial killers. Dracula by Bram Stoker was written in 1897. He is a composite of several legends, including Elizabeth Battery. His original name was Count Vampire (vahm-peer). Then he read of Prince Vlad Dracula of Romania. He thought the last name was just evil so he changed the name. Vlad fiercely protected his kingdom. He was nonwhynews.easyjournal.com & most of his enemies were Muslim. His choice of punishment was to impale them on stakes. It was an extremely punishment & they took days to die. He enjoyed watching them during his meals. There is no evidence that he ever drank their blood. Today Vlad Dracula is a national hero. Sort of like Robin Hood. The legend of the vampire is an insult to Romanians. But, there is vampire stuff everywhere. It makes a lot of money! And his castle is a tourist attraction. Blood rituals continue today with voodoo. They believe that blood has powers. There are animal sacrifices. But in Europe drinking blood is considered a mortal sin. In the paperblogonly.easyjournal.com 100 years vampires have become a symbol of strength, especially with teens who are loners & feel powerless. And they have become heroic figures & even cartoon characters. And they have become sexy. Now there is a vampire role playing game. Most of those who play are social outcasts, outsiders, etc. who have found a way to connect with others like themselves. The game is not dangerous per se unless there is someone who cannot distinguish between reality & fantasy. Then things can get out of control. www.bloglines.com/blog/freediggpolls 1996 Rod Furnel (?) was a teen who appeared normal but got in trouble in school. He became obsessed with the vampire role playing game. He had a gang under him. He eventually came to believe he truly was a vampire. His girlfriend complained about her parents. Rod took a high dose of acid & then he & 3 of his disciples drove several hundred miles to her home. He killed her father & stepmother. Then he drank their blood. They were captured not long after that. He is in prison for life with no parole. He still thinks he is a vampire. Bram Stoker started the trend of a sexy vampire & Anne Rice continued the trend. And then today there is the tv series Moonlight. A vampire attacking their victim has always symbolised another human activity that slid under the compass of the Victorians. In New York there is an underground vampire society. It was very secretive. Then clubs had a back room where you needed a special sign or gesture to get in. Inside Sonny was sexual activity, drinking each others blood, bondage. In 1996 a reporter Susan Walsh infilltrated them. She even fell for one of them & became one of them. She tried to have her article published but it was refused. Shortly after that she complained of being stalked. Then she disappeared. There has been no trace of her but dozens of theories. Another reporter went underground to find evidence of her but found nothing. Some even think she is still alive. Now that vampire underground is going public. They have a handbook called The Black Veil. Part of coming above ground is because of the internet & also the fear of hate crimes against them. There are psychic vampires who feed off of the life force of others, like Rasputin. There are sanguine vampires that drink blood. But these two kinds are supposed to ask permission first. The vampire life style is a romantic idea of vampires eternal youth & beauty. The vampires of today dress & wear makeup in the goth style. This is something to think of while watching the sexy, made-over vampire of Moonlight every friday nite!!! |

Badtrip! It echoes through my head na parang isang sirang plaka kaya it was really hard for me to go to sleep kahit na alam kong sobrang pagod akoh. So I just stared at the ceiling hoping na baka biglang lumabas dun ung hinahahap kong answers sa mga questions sa utak koh pro bowl nagpapagulo ngaun ng buhay koh. While staring sa ceiling biglang nag ring ung phone, nag dadalawang isip pa nga akoh at first kung sasagutin koh eh, pro I decided to answer it na rin baka kasi importante. Still staring at the ceiling inabot koh ung phone sa may bedside table and answered it. Pare are you there?!â sabi nya, hindi kasi akoh agad nakapagsalita eh. âSoh heyâ sabi koh, parang un lang kasi nakayanan kong sabihin eh âScongratz nga pala ha, A Perfect Murder moh kanina ah.â Sabi nya happily pro I could tell in his voice na parang malungkot xa na whatever, ung parang pinipilit lang nya ung sarili nya na maging masaya as he had always been kapag may problema kami. âSah un, thanks.â Sabi koh tapos wala ng nagsalita. It was followed by a very deafening silence. Hindi koh na kasi nagawang magsalita eh. âSsayang hindi na tayo nakapas usap kanina.â Sabi nya bigla âSoo nga eh,â sabi koh trying to hide from him the fact na Iâm crying, knowing him for sure mag aalala un kapag nalaman nya na umiiyak akoh. âSI was going to tell you something pa naman.â Sabi nya, hindi pa rin akoh nakapagsalita, I just touched ung bracelet nya while silently crying. âSI was looking forward to talking to you pa naman.â Sabi nya tapos another deafening silence. Di koh na kayanan, nagsalita akoh, âSano ba ung sasabihin moh?! Was tyna marie robertson about the pregnancy of twinx?! â sabi koh sa kanya trying my best to hide my tears, kahit na talagang sobrang sakit. âSuhmm, wala lang un. Iâll tell you in time na lang. Kala koh kasi ready na koh kanina eh, un pala hindi pa.â helena bonham carter nya âSso, it was about twinxâ pregnancy?!â sabi koh na lalong naiiyak âSno, I also had no idea na buntis pala xa.â Sabi nya tapos bigla xang Natigilan, feeling koh naiiyak na din xa eh. âStalaga?!â sabi koh na mejo nagulat din âSyah, I was just as shocked as you were.â Sabi nya, now I know kung ano ung tinatago nya sakin, heâs hiding the fact na natatakot xa sa current situation. I donât know why but its clear na takot xa. âSokei lang yan.â Sabi koh âSnu nga pala ung sasabihin moh sakin?!â ask nya, hindi akoh agad nakapag salita. âSdiba you were going to tell me something?!â ask nya ulit âSjust forget about it. Next time na lang din siguro. Kala koh din ready akoh eh. With all the things happening right now, I think its not yet the right time.â Tapos silence ulit when neither one of us were talking na dun na talaga tumulo lahat ng tears koh. Parang biglang lumabas lahat ng sama ng loob koh, all the hurt and disappointments. Nagpapakiramdaman lang kami. Nasabi koh na lang sa sarili koh, âSI love you so muchâŠâ then I fell asleep na, holding the bracelet close to my heart. After that, I have decided na umiwas na lang muna kay pare. Parang I still have trouble believing the fact na when everything seemed so right, something happens that nothing could ever change. Parang itâs a sign. Ewan koh. Hindi koh alam&masakit. He tried calling me and stuff pero umiiwas na lang akoh. Parang dati. Hindi koh pa talaga kaya eh. Parang dati, sinubsob koh ung sarili koh sa work. By day, im a very hard working doctor, lecturing in seminars and stuff, just to keep me occupied. Si doc, as usual, patiently waiting for me. Kaya whenever I go home at night, and all alone, thatâs when I let it all out. Iâd cry silently and just let all my feelings out and cry myself pam anderson sleep. For so many nights, it had become a routine for me. It was the only way for me to sleep, I have to cry. Pero dumating din ung time na I no more had tears to cry. As much as I wanted to cry, kasi feel like meron pang natitira sa loob koh, I canât kasi naubos na lahat. Wala diem brown talaga. Then sa wakas mejo nakayanan koh na. Bumalik na koh sa dati. I begun to enjoy things more. Naging fair na rin ung treatment koh with doc. Hindi koh na xa tine take for granted. Even he was a bit shocked with the changes pro natuwa naman xa eh! Wahehehe⊠Tapos ngaun, kaya koh na rin kausapin si pare, I accept some of his calls now pro Iâm still not ready to face him, not muna siguro ngaun. I still have the bracelet. Hindi koh pa binabalik. Parang ayaw koh na ibalik eh. Kasi parang ewan koh, itâs the only piece of him na I have. I donât have his heart na nga tapos pag binigay koh pa ung bracelet, Iâd have nothing. Parang ewan koh, the bracelet gave me the will to move on, parang ganun. Di koh alam eh, mejo naguguluhan pa rin akoh ewan koh. Basta! Happy na koh ngaun. Iâd be contented with I have and not take anything for granted. Iâve know learned how to be happy. Now, I can experience happiness once more in the arms of doc. Weâve been doing great. And now, I think I have finally moved on. Kasi, I can now talk to pare like before. Hindi na koh umiiwas, I feel comfortable again. Once again, I could say that my life was perfect. So un nga, ayos na lahat. Iâm okay, docâs okay, pareâs okay and Twinx and the baby are also okay. I think it was a boy yata, ewan koh. Okay naman sila and dun sila sa hospital nagpapacheck-up, dun sa friends namin. Everything is fine. One night, doc took me out to dinner. Kala koh usual date namin, ung hang out lang tapos watch lang ng movies and stuff like that. Kaya lang this time, where going out on an actual date. As in sa labas. We havenât done for quite some time now kaya mejo nagulat akoh. And unlike before he asked me to dress formally, you know, like to wear a gown or something. Akoh naman, just said yes and dressed up. He just told me to meet him up sa lobby ng isang hotel. When I got there, he was already waiting dun sa lobby. âSkanina ka pa?! Sorry if I took too long.â Sabi koh sa kanya after I greeted him with a kiss on the cheek. âSno naman, youâre just in time.â Sabi nya. âSdonât worry, I wonât do anything to you. Just relax okay.â Sabi nya, obviously noticing na mejo nagpanic akoh. With what he said, hindi na nga akoh msyado nagpanic. When we got into the elevator, he pushed the very top button. I just looked at him curiously. Nu kaya meron?! Baket kaya?! Ewan koh. When we got to top floor, eh di nag open ung door nung elevator tapos I just followed him. Tapos pagliko namin sa may corner, I was surprised with what I saw. It was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. On the rooftop, as in rooftop talaga nung hotel, there were rose petals na parang pathway leading dun sa table sa may gitna na sobrang perfect ung table sitting. Tapos a waiter was standing sa tabi ng table holding the menu, tapos may band na tumutugtog nung mga sobrang mellow and romantic tunes. The ambience was so romantic. I canât even say the right words to describe it. I was just in awe. âSwow!â was the only word I managed to say. Speechless talaga akoh sobra. âSyou like it?!â sabi nya then he escorted me to one of the seats dun sa table. I was in the verge of tears na nun. Kasi biro moh ba naman, diba?! Ung ganung effort, everything around you, was all done to please you. Everything around you was all done just for you. Ka flatter kaya yun. Tapos nun, we started dinner na, after awhile bumalik na rin akoh sa sarili koh kaya nakapagusap na kami ng matino, holding each otherâs hands almost all the time. It was so sweet nga eh. Grabeh!! Tapos, when dessert was served na, biglang nag iba ung atmospehere. Parang ewan koh. Tapos the band was playing a more mellow tune. Pamatay! Tapos si doc, he started to get nervous or something na whatever. Ewan koh ba. âSwhatâs wrong?! May sasabihin ka ba?!â ask koh xa âSuhmm wala, kei lang akoh.â Sabi nya. So hindi koh na pinansin. Tapos biglang, âShindi, I have something to say pala.â Sabi nya, then tumayo xa and also pulled up to my feet gently. Kasi ewan. For a while we danced muna with the music. It was a very lovely night. Unforgettable. Then bigla, nag mellow ung music and then nag stop xa sa pagsasayaw, eh di nagulat akoh, kala koh napagod snapnewssharp.easyjournal.com xa or something. Tapos bigla nya hinawakan ung kamay koh. I canât explain why. Basta ganun. He cleared his throat then un. He started talking na, âShon, weâve been together for quite some time na. With you, I experienced how to be happy and young again. You brought happiness back into my life. I never thought I could love someone more than my life but then you came along. We had our good and most recently, our bad times, but we still made it through.â Sabi nya and he just stared deeply into my eyes. I think I know where this is going but still, itâs so surreal. âSyou know na Iâm not really good with words, but. All I can say is that. I know that we barely talk about this but I think now would be the right time to do this. â He continued. Tapos he reached for his pocket then may nilabas syang little blue bow. When he opened it, there was a beautiful diamond ring inside. When I saw the ring, thatâs when it all became all clear to me what was happening. Tapos he kneeled down and held my hand, and thatâs when he popped the big question. âSwill you marry me?!â I was overwhelmed with what he said. I was speechless. Hindi akoh nakapagsalita agad. There was something in my throat na nakabara or something. I just stood there looking at him looking at me waiting for my answer. After a while di pa rin akoh makapagsalita then naiyak na lang akoh. Tapos nag worry yata xa kasi bigla xa tumayo. He wiped my tears and just hugged me. Akoh naman, para paring statwa, just stood there. âSI know itâs sudden and we never really talked about it but I just thought that now is the right time. But if youâre not yet ready, we could always have a long engagement until you are.â Sabi nya while hugging me. When he let go, I just wiped my tears and sat down. Parang ayaw kasi I-digest ng system koh ung proposal nya. Nabigla akoh sobra. I thought about all the things that weâve been through. Ung mga things na nangyari samin. Are we really ready for this?! Then, bigla koh naisip si pare. Then I knew, why there was hesitation in me to say yes. It was all because of pare. Nakapag move on na nga akoh but I was moving on slowly para if ever he changed his mind, mahabol nya pa koh. But it seems like wala na talaga. And naisip koh rin na he has his own life right now, with twinx and the baby and everything, hindi nya na maiisip na habulin akoh. And I donât want to grow old alone and doc has always been there for me and mahal koh rin naman xa eh, un nga lang mas minahal koh si pare but my love for him could grow pa naman. With that in mind, I have made my decision. âSdocâ sabi koh sa kanya, and I looked n his eyes. Kinakabahan xa sa isasagot koh. Then I smiled and he felt relieved. âSyou mean?!â ask nya sakin. And I just nodded. Tapos he kneeled down in front of me katulad kanina and asked me once more. âSwill you marry me?â âSIâd love to.â I answered, then he slipped the ring into my fingers and stood up and hugged me. With all that, this is definitely one of the greatest moments of my life. The very first one without pare. After that ang saya koh sobra kahit thereâs a part of me na sobrang lungkot. But it was okay. I donât know how Iâd tell pare, pro later koh na lang siguro poproblemahin un. Right now, I have to think about our wedding. We have decided not to have a long engagement. I wanted to get this wedding over with before I could change my mind. Kaya after that very memorable night, we decided to tell our parents na and inform everybody about our plan. We immediately talked about the www.bloglines.com/blog/tagtodayfavor about the wedding. livingcatchtime.easyjournal.com knew about the wedding. Everyone except pare. I still donât know how Iâd be able to tell him about it. Parang di koh kaya eh. Ewan koh. Bahala na. Sa hospital alam na ng lahat about the wedding. Everywhere I turn, people are congratulating me about it and wishing me luck. Lalo na ung mga administrators sa hospital. Gusto daw nila, lahat sila ninong or ninang. Lahat approve sa wedding. Itâs sobrang overwhelming. Weâve been very busy after that. With all the work in the hospital and the wedding. My gosh! Ka stress sobra! One night, doc came over sa house. We were talking about ung mga involved sa wedding. Kung sino ung best man, maid of honor, bridesmaid, the entourage and stuff like that. âSso, eric would be one of the groomsmen,â he said and continued on naming names of people. I just nodded and disagreed about some people whom I never really liked and suggested some who I liked. When we got to the part of the maid in honor and the best man, we had a very long list of who it would be. âSwhy donât we just ask Jessica to be the maid of honor?!â he suggested. In case your wondering, si Jessica ung long long longtime friend namin way back from med school. She was also responsible for this two people you are hearing about right now. Yupz, she was the one who hooked us up. âSsure, why not. Sheâd love that.â Sabi koh. I just see her now pag dating sa wedding. âSoh the fruits of my labor.â Sasabihin nya. She is such a match maker. âSwhat about the best man?!â sabi koh. âShuh?! Kala koh ba si pare na un.â Sabi ni doc. Wow! That took me by surprise. Masyado akoh ng worry kung pano koh sasabihin sa kanya, that I have forgotten to include him sa ceremony. âSreally?!â sabi koh, di rin akoh makapaniwala eh âSyah, I thought youâd like that. Lam koh naman na it would be incomplete for you kung wala si pare eh.â Oh, how sweet of doc nman. Grabeh, tlaga. Heâs so sweet. Kaya nga hindi xa mahirap mahalin eh. The whole night, inisip koh kung pano koh sasabihin kay pare. Ewan. It has already been a month since I have been engaged and still, hindi koh pa rin nasasabi kay pare. Humahanap pa koh ng tymepo eh. And I have been really busy kaya ganun. One night, asa house lang akoh, nagiisip nung mga things for the wedding. Itâs a good thing na wala akong scheduled major operations ngaun. Kung hindi, nabaliw na siguro akoh. I was in my room, fixing things. Nang biglang may nag doorbell. So, I went down to see who it was. Xmpre sobrang curious akoh noh. Diba?! Tapos when I opened the door, I was a bit shocked when I saw who it was. It was pare. I forgot, pasok ka.â Sabi koh, finally letting him inside. Masyado kasi akoh nabigla sa pagbisita nya eh. We went straight to my room kasi nga ang dami koh pang ginagawa for the wedding. Oh my God! The wedding! Hindi koh pa nga pala nasasabi kay pare ung tungkol sa north korea flag Siguro etoh na ung right time. Ah basta! Kwentuhan, catching up with all the things thatâs been happening. He did most of the talking kasi nga iniisip koh pa ung speech koh kung pano koh sasabihin sa kanya na Iâm getting married na. Tapos biglang moment of silence. Naubusan na ng kwento. He just stared at the sky and looked at the stars, kung meron man. I laid my head on his shoulders. Grabeh. Naiiyak akoh! This could be the last www.bloglines.com/blog/directukbegin na ganto kami ni pare. âSso, howâs the baby?â ask koh, di koh na nakayanan ung silence eh âSokei naman. Weâre having a girl.â Sabi nya na napasmile. Heâs obviously happy about the baby. âSso, whenâs the big day?!â I asked him âShuh?!â he asked âSwell, hindi ba kau ikakasal?!â âSfor the sake of the kid?! No.â he said âShuh?!â now Iâm the one confused âSI mean, we already talked about it and we decided not to get married just for the kid. Kasi up to now pa rin naman, weâre still not sure kung kami ba talaga. I mean, we just donât really click and what if our marriage wonât work, kawawa naman ung bata. Ayaw koh mangyari sa anak koh un.â âSwe decided to you know just keep on going. Kung hindi mag work out we will remain as good friends. Weâd keep a healthy relationship the same as to the custody of the kid.â He said tapos silence ulit. think this is the right time na. Here it goes. Wish me luck. I took a big sigh Lost Voyage then. Then I didnât have to tell him na kasi na feel nya ung engagement ring sa kamay koh. Then he just looked at me. Grabeh! Naiiyak na talaga akoh! Ayan na! Feel koh na ung tears! Shiyet! âSis this what I think it is?!â he asked ulit, tapos ung boses nya parang trying to be happy na hindi moh maintindihan. I donât know kung namalikmata lang me or what pero parang I saw pain in his eyes when he was saying those words. âSuhmm, pare.â Sabi koh then isa pang big sigh, âSIâm getting married na.â Finally nasabi koh din xa! âSI know. Twinx told me.â Sabi nya then smiled at me. âSuhmm⊠pare, can I ask you a favor?!â sabi koh sa kanya. âShuh?! What is it?! Anything. Lamoh naman na kahit ano basta para sa pare koh eh.â Sabi nya âSwould you like to be docâs best man?!â I asked him nervously. âShuh?! Akoh?! Baket naman akoh?! Diba ung best man ung best friend ng groom?!â sabi nya âSwell, yeah kaya lang kasi we decided to switch. Ung maid of honor koh ung best nya from med school. Xmpre kailngan koh pa ba pumili ng best man?! I looked at him awaiting for his answer. âSsure. Basta ba para walter h. g. lewin Sabi nya. âSthanks. Pare!â sabi koh then I hugged him. âSpare, congratz.â he said the he hugged back so tight. As if he never wants to let me go. We stayed like that for a while. Then he whispered sa ears koh, âS I wish I had never let you go.â Naiyak na koh dun. Grabeh. âShuh?!â I wana hear it again. To be sure. âSwala.â Then with that I rest my head on his shoulder, his arms around me, keeping me warm as I silently cried in his arms. After so many months of preparation. Itâs the eve of my wedding na. Grabeh kinakabahan akoh. I was staying at the hotel cos of the I was in the hotel room na, trying to sleep when my phone rang. âShello?!â âShey hon.â It was doc âShey, oh bat ka napatawag?!â sabi koh âSI just missed you.â âStoh naman. Magkikita naman tau tomorrow eh.â Sabi koh na mejo natutuwa sa kanya âSnga pala, I prepared a little surprise for you tomorrow. Hope you like it. I love you.â Sabi nya then binababa nya na para hindi kohna xa makulit about dun sa surprise na sinasabi nya. Lalo tuloy akoh naexcite. Canât wait for tomorrow. Itâs the big day. Iâm prepared na. While getting my make up done, may lumapit sakin na assistant nung make-up artist. May inabot na letter. âSmamaya nyo na lang daw poh buksan.â Sabi nung nagbigay âSwhoâs it from?!â I asked kaya lang biglang lumayas ung bakla. Tapos after about a century of preparations, Iâm finally ready and on my way na sa church. My cousin already called, and told me na everybody was there na daw and me na lang daw ung hinhintay. Nung nasa limo na kami, I remembered about the letter. Kaya on our way there, I read the letter. It was from pare. âSPare, Wow! Time does fly by.. Imagine youâre getting married na. I remember the very first time I saw you. Right then and there I fell in love with you. But I never had the guts to tell you about what I truly feel for you. Kasi we clicked and naging best friends tayo. You were the perfect girl for me. No wonder marami pumoporma saâyo. At least akoh, nakakalamang sa kanilang lahat kasi I was your best friend. Notice how Iâd always have something bad to say to your manliligaws. Kainis kasi sila eh! But sometimes, I knock myself back to earth and remember that I am JUST your best friend and thatâs all we could ever be, I never left your side. For me, kuntento na koh maging P.A. moh at least Iâm the only man in your life.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Prom time. I was so glad you asked me to be your date. Many girls were approaching me and asking me but I just said that I wasnât going, well I really had no plans of going until you showed up on my door and asked me. Well, what can I do?! Makakahindi ba koh sayo?! Thatâs when I decided to make my move. Kung alam moh lang kung gaano akoh nagprepare for the prom. I know nagtataka ka kung baket naging ganun ung proposal koh saâyo. I didnât want to lose our friendship kasi eh. Kasi I was thinking na if seryosong approach, baka sabihin moh hindi, eh di syempre magkakailangan na tayo nun, kaya I decided na ganun na lang, para if ever na sabihing mong hindi, it wouldnât really affect our relationship that much. Lamoh, you looked so beautiful that night. While we were dancing, for me, it was one perfect moment. You were the princess, and I was your prince. And when you said yes, my heart jumped with gladness. It was one of the happiest moments of my life. I have loved you with all my heart. You made me feel complete. Whenever Iâm with you I could be myself. I know youâre wondering, if I had loved you that much, baket akoh bigla nakipagbreak saâyo. Iwas hurting na kasi. I donât know what you truly feel for me. Masakit para sakin na after all weâve been through, you still saw me as a your bestfriend. Although it may seem na that night, that I wasnât affected at all, when I got home I felt numb. It was like there was a piece of me na nawala. It was the very first time I cried. I told myself that I need to move on. Kaya I started looking sa other girls. Then pumasok na sa scene si Twinx, she was nothing like you kaya nga I liked her, kasi she wouldnât remind me of you and I thought na it would help me on moving on. Pro you were the only one in my mind and in my heart. But I kept on telling myself that I need to move on and that I could learn to love again. I tried. Believe me. But I know na I need to remind myself, where I really stand sa buhay moh, kaya I just protected you as much as I could. Nung naging kayo, dun koh na hindi kinaya ung pain kaya Iâve decided, to you know, umiwas na lang and give you space. That was also the time I decided to forget about my feelings for you and start anew. But I always kept in touch with some of our friends to get some news about you para maka keep up naman akoh sa mga nangyayari sa buhay moh. I was so proud of you the day you got your PhD. I told myself na it would be better na ganto na lang. youâre there and Iâm here just looking at you. But you never left my heart. You were my inspiration in everything I do. Whenever Iâm with another girl, Iâd always think about you, and just imagined that it was you I was talking to. Eventually, I found someone like you kaya lang front lang pala nya yun. Kaya ayun. When I heard that you were at the alumni homecoming, I left my work kaagad and cancelled all my meetings for that night. I was on my way to the auditorium, kaya lang bigla akoh napanghinaan ng loob kaya naglakad lakad na lang akoh sa campus and it brought me back to our place. My face brightened kasi naalala koh ung mga memories natin. Then I saw you. I told myself, âSItâs now or never.â, kaya I approached you. You have no idea how happy I was to see you again. To touch your hands as soft as pillows, to see your smile as bright as the sun and hear your voice that always made me carry on. It was like fresh blood flowing through my veins, and giving me new life. From then on, Iâve decided to never let you go again. Iâd rather be JUST your pare and still a part of your life again than be nothing at all. The more time I spent with you, the more I loved you. But I know that it was wrong. Especially when I found out that I was going to be a daddy. It changed my world and turned it upside down. Then when I found out that you were getting married, I canât feel anything. Once more in my life, I felt numb. Iâm now going to be a daddy and youâll be a wife. Imagine that. I have dreamed of this moment before but in my dream, you were my wife and I was the daddy of our little kid, nangyari nga xa but may slight adjustments. You were someone elseâs wife to be. How I wish so hard to be the guy waiting for you at the end of the altar, but I know it wonât come true. I just want to tell you that I love you more than life itself. If I could only turn back time, I wouldâve never let you go. But whatâs done is done. Now Iâm letting you go to be happy with another man. Iâm writing you this letter para I could let you go and say na nabawasan na ung mga regrets koh in life and that was being able to tell you how I truly feel for you. I just want you to know that you will always have my heart and I will always be your taga-salo whenever you feel na hindi moh na kaya. You will always have me beside you no matter what. No vows or marriage could ever come between us. No vows or marriage could change 3c321 I really feel for you. ruin romo care always. I love you⊠This will not mean goodbye, itâs just a new circumstance that we have to deal with. And I promise you, we could get through this. And I will always love you.Always,Pare âSwhen I finally finished the letter napansin koh na I was crying na pala.Tears fell from my eyes. I didnât know what to do.Itâs all too late. Andito na koh and I canât turn back. Itâs a sacrifice I have to make. When they saw na I was already at the church they started the ceremony na. Alam nyo un, ung paglalakad sa aisle. When I walked down the aisle xmpre nag change ung music, then I heard a familiar voice. Someone was singing my favorite song. When I looked ahead, I saw who it was.It was pare who was singing. He was there at the end of the altar all groomed up singing for me. It melted my heart and me weak. This time I can no longer hold my tears. I was crying while I was walking down the aisle. Oh how I wish it was really him waiting for me at the end. How I wish it was him marrying me. When I got there, I hugged him so tight, then I felt his warm tears and I just cried. I never wanted to let go pro xmpre hindi pwede un. All through out the ceremony I tried my best to focus on the matter at hand, which is my future with doc. But in the back of my mind I canât stop thinking about pare and how it couldâve been us. Eventually, I got through the wedding. âSI now pronounce you man and wife. You may now I kiss the bride.â And The French Connection kissed me and everybody applauded the newly weds. I was happy yet sad. Mixed emotions talaga. Pagdating ng reception masaya naman. His family and mine are getting along so well. Everybody enjoying themselves. Tapos there was a little program na about the two of us, about our history as a couple and stuff. nakakatuwa. Wahehehe. It was fun looking back. After that, tumugtog ung band, and doc and I had our first dance as a married couple. After that song, biglang lumapit si pare. âSuhm, doc, pwede koh ba muna agawin ung misis moh?!â sabi nya na nakasmile. âSsure, basta balik moh yan ha?!â sabi nya and he handed me over to pare with a tap on the back of pare. We were dancing tapos na realize koh na lang na ung tugtog pala is our song when we were still together back in the days. âSthis would be our last dance.â Sabi nya âSit doesnât have to be. We could always dance like this whenever we want.â Sabi koh âSI have to return something to you.â Sabi koh then I rolled the sleeve of my gown and showed him the bracelet that I gave him on our 2nd anniversary. Yupz, tigas mukha koh eh. I was wearing it in on my wedding day. I couldnât let go, but I think now ung time na I give it back to him. âSI have been looking all over for this.â Sabi nya when he looked at the bracelet âSI never wanted to give it back, kasi I thought na it was the only piece of you that I could say that belongs to me.â Then I removed the bracelet and sinuot koh sa kanya âSbut now I can say na I have your heart and thatâs already enough for me.â I asked and hugged him again. âShave you read the letter na ba?!â he asked while we were dancing I just nodded and hold unto him tighter. I donât want this moment to end. âSIâve tried my best to put everything in those pieces of paper. But it canât really be enough to Casino to writing what I truly feel. I really really love you.â He said âSwhy hadnât you said it sooner. I have loved you too ever since. You just donât know how much and how hard I cried when you were gone by my side.â Sabi koh na umiiyak na. he then wiped away my tears ruin romo kissed me on the forehead. I will just be here. Still loving you. Iâd never leave your side again. Even if Iâm just your best friend, nobody would ever love you the way I do. Youâre my little heaven here on earth.â Sabi nya then we continued to dance na lang holding unto each other as tight as we could, never wanting to let go. But we had to. Its not meant to be. Weâre not meant to be. Before we left for our honeymoon, I looked for him. When I found him. I hugged him so tight once more. âSbye.â He said still hugging me âSgood bye is such an unfair word. Iâll see you later nalang. Okei?!âsabi koh na mukhang maiiyak na ulet. âSIâll see you later.â Tapos he whispered sa ear koh na, âSIâm letting you go na.â âSno, youâre not. Youâre just letting me be on anotherâs arms. But please, donât let me go. I want to hold on.â I said na onti-onti ng umiiyak âSokei, I wonât.â and with one final hug and a kiss on the nose, we parted knowing it was the love of the lifetime at a wrong time. |

Numera bosatt i Hong Kong. Aktuell Ă€r Benazir Bhutto i Pakistan. Men sen ser jag att The Most Powerful Women of the World Ă€r en lista av ett annat magasin Mission: Impossible II target="_blank" href="http://www.forbes.com/business/forbes/2007/0903/126.html">The Forbes. Publicerad: 2007-08-31. DĂ€r ingĂ„r The Forbes topp tiolista ovan. Europas tio mĂ€ktigaste kvinnor enligt Financial Times: 1. Anne Lauvergeon, styrelseordförande, Areva. Född i Frankrike. |

I love this story! Someone started hanging ornaments on two large pine trees next to the Garden State Highway in New Jersey. Officials have no idea who started decorating the trees, but more ornaments keep showing up. The unidentified spreader of Christmas cheer even hangs the ornaments at eye level so they are easily seen by passing motorists. Sometimes it really is the thought that counts. It makes me want to go out and start decorating random trees along the highway (full story here). Whoever you are, New Jersey tree decorator, I salute you for making the days of so many just a little brighter. |

This blog has moved to its new permanent home at http://nomadishere.com. Ive always felt strongly about the lines that exist between spammers and marketers. Those lines are constantly blurring and its getting harder and harder to say what white or blackhat marketing is. I prefer within search engine guidelines and outside of search engine guidelines - however, search engines do not always take the stance they are themselves enforcing. Web marketers are finding it increasingly difficult to compete with the changing algorithms and guidelines, and the blind-eye that search engines seem to have regarding well established sites. We all know companies like T-mobile buy text links and rank because of it for competitive terms like Cell Phone. If Google were really against link buying as a practice then why would they still be sitting top-ten in 2007? Wouldnt they have been removed by now? Surely& Manipulation is wrong, but influence is right? Yes, buying links is against search engine guidelines - but many public relations, buzz and viral marketing tactics are a process of buying exposure - and theyve been going on long before the internet came to be. This isnt a black and white issue, and I am not the only one asking questions like this, and there are many more. None of us are white hat or black hat. We are people. Human beings. Those hat terms are just used to describe techniques, not people. The techniques we use, the policies we develop and the procedures we instruct our employees in does not define us as a person. It may define our business model, but surely we could at least agree that we are all targeting the same market which makes us all pretty much in the same business. So if were all just people, why does this topic always get so heated? What is it that gets people calling other people names and making over the top harsh statements? Why is it so difficult for us to find some common ground as a group all engaged in the same business or at least going after the same customers? and& Iâm sure we could all agree that we have seen dozens and dozens of posts where someone makes some kind of statement like, âS Iâve bought links BUT, I only buy the ones that can send me trafficâ . Or, my favorite of course is, âSyes, I do sell text links with the price based on Google PR but only if itâs on-themeâ. That boggles the mind, how one person can do the exact same thing as another yet see themselves as completely different from the other but of course, some minds are much more easily boggled than others. That is justification. That is survival. - via Any action one takes to increase ones search engine traffic is marketing. Any deceptive action one takes to increase ones search engine traffic, is spam. - via At the end of the day, in the marketing world, and in the world in general - there are practices that harm people and those that do not. There are practices that push the boundaries of ethics and integrity. There is always an extreme left and extreme right - the truth lies somewhere in the middle. |

Yet what I fail to understand is why it has to be used on the internet. Even when texting I use it only as a last resort, now that we have predictive texting Tooth begin hotpapercatch.easyjournal.com attempting to write the message out in full using proper English, and only if the message cuts off, or I have more to add, do I then go back and alter parts into textspeak. Whats worse is that what was once textspeak is now netspeak, as if to apply the same shorthand from use on SMS, where it is logical to do so, to the internet, where it is not, is somehow just natural evolution. This is no minor issue either, its not all about good grammar or anything quite so snobby as that. I fear for a world where the netspeak generation actually run things because you can bet it will be a world where the shortcut will prevail. Forget road safety and having a safe working environment, because that would require doing things properly. No, instead expect a world where because everyone is taking a shortcut, people get hurt, or worse yet, die. Yes, you heard right people, netspeak costs lives. So if not for me, if not for yourself (and your own literacy), please, for the sake of humanity, cease being so lazy and actually try using blursharptour.easyjournal.com language skills youre blessed with. |

Vanessa Redgrave, when not otherwise occupied being a useful idiot, is purportedly some type of entertainer.  Ms. Redgrave has paid 50% of el-Banns bail to spring him from a British jail. As if her actions didnt pretty much say it all, Ms. Redgrave also saw fit to make the following proclamations after el-Banns release - In short, comparing the prison in Guantanamo Bay to a concentration camp. As The Shipping News posting bail, Miss Redgrave said: It is a profound honour and I am glad to be alive to be able to do this. She then added: Guantanamo Bay is a concentration camp. It is a disgrace that these men have been kept there all these years. Guantanamo is a concentration camp? Lets see&..at Guantanamo prisoners are each given a Koran, clothing, free christmas cards care and three squares a day. In fact, prisoners there actually GAIN weight after their arrival and have to be given bigger clothes when they are released. Further, when told they are being released many have refused to go home. In contrast, victims of concentration camps were either killed immediately upon arrival, worked to death with little or no food or, became the subjects of macabre medical experimentation by fiendish Nazi doctors.   Its also important to remember that unlike the terrorists taken from the battle field and sent to Guantanamo,  the victims of the Nazis were innocents&children, homosexuals, gypsies, Poles, Slavs,  Jews, the mentally handicapped and the physically disabled.  I would further note that the Nazis werent real big on releasing people into anything but the atmosphere.  So, Ms. Redgrave, you are glad to be alive to help terrorists get out of prison? If you let enough of them out you may not be alive for very long. Im guessing your misogynistic terrorist friends arent very tolerant of opinionated women. This is yet another shining example of why I refuse to give my hard earned money to the leftists that control the entertainment industry. These people are not only stupid, theyre dangerous. There is as much difference between a concentration camp and Guantanamo as there is between Vanessa Redgrave and an intelligent person. Heres a link to the rest of the story: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/12/20/ngitmo620.xml |

From an AP article in the Guardian by Edith M. Lederer: The U.N. Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution Monday demanding Syrias full cooperation with a U.N. investigation into the assassination of Lebanons former prime minister and warning of possible further action if it doesnt. The United States, France and Britain pressed for the resolution following last weeks tough report by the U.N. investigating commission, which implicated top Syrian and Lebanese security officials in the Feb. 14 bombing that killed Rafik Hariri and 20 others. The report also accused Syria of not cooperating fully with the inquiry. The three co-sponsors agreed to drop a direct threat of sanctions against Syria in order to get support from Russia and China, which opposed sanctions while the investigation is still under way. Nonetheless, the resolution was adopted under Chapter VII of the U.N. Charter, which is militarily enforceable. The resolution requires Syria to detain anyone the U.N. investigators consider a suspect and let investigators determine the location and conditions under which the individual would be questioned. It also would freeze assets and impose a travel ban on anyone identified as a suspect by the commission. Those provisions could pose a problem for Syrian President Bashar Assad, as well as his brother, Maher Assad, and his brother-in-law, Assef Shawkat, the chief of military intelligence. The Syrian leader has refused a request from the chief U.N. investigator to be interviewed. Investigators also want to question his brother and brother-in-law. The U.S. invited foreign ministers of the 15 Security Council nations to attend the meeting to send a strong message to Syria to cooperate with the inquiry, and a dozen ministers showed up, including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and ministers from Russia, China, Britain and France. Rice told the council that Syria had been put on notice by the international community that it must cooperate with the inquiry by German prosecutor Detlev Mehlis. With our decision today, we show that Syria has isolated itself from the international community - through its false statements, its support for terrorism, its interference in the affairs of its neighbors, and its destabilizing behavior in the Middle East, Rice said. Now, the Syrian government must make a strategic decision to fundamentally change its behavior. British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said the Security Council is putting the government of Syria on notice that our patience has limits. The people of the Lebanon have become all too acquainted with grief, he said. We owe them a better future, and this resolution is one way of providing them with that better future. Frances Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy stressed that the aim of the resolution was the whole truth about Rafik Hariris assassination in order that those responsible for it answer for their crime. By adopting the resolution, he said, the council showed solidarity with Lebanon and support for the Mehlis commissions work, which has been extended until Dec. 15, and demanded firm and urgent cooperation from Syria. After listening to the council members, Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa lashed out at Mehlis and the Security Council for accusing Syria of committing a crime without producing the evidence and adhering to the presumption of innocence. It seems that there was a set intention to point a finger at Syria & pointing the way to this resolution, said al-Sharaa, who was personally accused in the Mehlis report of lying to investigators. Al-Sharaa said accusing Syrian security forces of advance knowledge of Hariris assassination was tantamount to suggesting U.S. officials had prior knowledge of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks or that Britain knew about the July transit bombings. A visibly angry Straw called al-Sharaas comments the most grotesque and insensitive comparison. Rice told reporters afterward it was an unbelievable tirade that showed the Syrians were intent on trying to discredit the investigation. At the end of his speech, al-Sharaa insisted Damascus wants the truth and said Syrias decision was and is to fully cooperate with the international commission until conclusive evidence is found of the perpetrators of this heinous crime. I look forward to the full cooperation of Syria in form as well as substance, Straw retorted, but I have to say after what Ive heard Im not holding my breath. Assad on Saturday ordered that a judicial committee be formed to investigate Hariris assassination. A presidential decree said the committee will cooperate with the U.N. probe and Lebanese judicial authorities. Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorim, whose country has large Lebanese and Syrian communities, made clear that any further action against Syria would require Security Council approval. Brazil will not favor hasty decisions that may lead to an undesirable escalation of the situation or further endanger the stability of the region, he said. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the resolution was useful because it showed the councils determination to discover the truth behind Hariris assassination. The final text of the resolution, of course, is not ideal, he said. Russia said last week it opposed sanctions against Syria, its longtime ally. Late Sunday, Lavrov criticized what he described as attempts to turn the Security Council into an investigative body, in comments broadcast by Russias Channel One television. Although the final text dropped the threat of sanctions, it said if Syria doesnt cooperate the council, if necessary, could consider further action. That could ultimately include sanctions. In another concession to try to get Russia and China on board, the co-sponsors also agreed to drop an appeal to Syria to renounce all support for all forms of terrorist action and all assistance to terrorist groups. Syria, meanwhile, is pushing for an emergency Arab League summit to try to rally regional support, said Arab diplomats speaking on condition of anonymity because the request had not been officially made. The diplomats, speaking at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, suggested a smaller gathering of Syria, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Lebanon and Egypt might be organized should other countries decline to participate out of concern over harming ties with the U.S., France and Britain. The diplomats said Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa sent an envoy to Gulf countries informing them of the Syrian request. They said Syria hoped for the meeting later this week, after the end of the Muslim religious month of Ramadan. The Syrian media criticized the U.N. resolution before the vote Monday, with the English-language Syria Times saying it was openly politicized and too heavily influenced by the U.S. Its immoral and totally unacceptable that the will of the (international) community remains captive to a unilateral diktat and & accepts tyranny and hegemony, the paper said. Syrias official news agency, SANA, said Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Walid Moallem toured Gulf countries this past weekend bearing a message from the Syrian president concerning the dangers Syria faces as a result of the U.N. action. SANA quoted Moallem as saying the resolution was dangerous and aimed at hurting Syria, not uncovering the truth in the Hariri assassination. But Moallem said Syria will continue to cooperate with the U.N. investigation despite. While Syria has rejected accusations of its involvement in Hariris killing, it buckled under international pressure and withdrew its soldiers from Lebanon in April, ending a 29-year presence in its smaller neighbor. I am not excited, or impressed. Also reporting: |
