It was "real" flying, and no GPS, except for the GPS you stuck in the clearview window over your shoulder to give you your groundspeed, that you got at the local sporting goods store. :-) This was a Color Negative I used to make a B&W photo, on Arista Edu Paper. Organization bin This is a good way to organize the gear. Use a large plastic bin with separate 4 bags inside it. At the race, we'll put all Bike gear in one bin, all Paddle gear in one, all Trek gear in one. Then the various bins get staged at each transition area around the course. Assume that you won't have access to a gear bag until that leg starts. Your backpack will be your "base gear" setup. As you get to each leg, your gear bag for that leg will available to swap gear in/out of. The bag is left in the transition area. 1. Backpack: load this with the "at all times" mandatory gear in a ziplock baggie + food and water, 1 long sleeve shirt, windbreaker, hat. You won't need much, but make sure you have a layer to add for warmth if it's cold/wet. 2. Trek gear bag: extra shoes, extra socks, extra lg sleeve shirt, extra short sleeve shirt, light jacket, warm hat, blister tape. Extra food. You'll swap out stuff from this bag to your backpack if you need it. It's always nice to have the option to change into a dry shirt if it's sweaty or wet. 3. Mt. bike gear - bike shoes, helmet, gloves, spare tube, CO2 cartridge, bike tool (one per team), red tail-light. extra l/s shirt, extra s/s shirt, extra socks, 4. Paddle gear - PDF, drytop or rain jacket, small dry bag, warm hat, paddle gloves, glow stick, water bottle, bars & gu's. Extra l/s shirt, extra s/s shirt, extra socks. 5. I refinished it using the same technique as my birch laminate stock: carefully stripped the original shellac finish and applied 5 to 6 layers of tung oil. The colour match to the rest of the stock is excellent (better than the original birch handguard), and is a very high quality piece. Who would have thought that Chu-wood was so nice! The gas cylinder fit perfectly with almost no filing required. The fit is snug, but not overly-tight. Remember, this is a vintage 1960's Chinese military SKS gas tube/handguard made on the same Soviet-era machinery as the 1949-1956 Tula arsenal SKS's. I cannot speak on the fitment of the lower-grade commercial Chinese SKS units. Contrary to popular belief, Chu-wood is not much softer than regular Russian arctic birch. Now arctic birch laminate is a different story, as it is MUCH harder and more durable. KTM Super Enduro 950R Lean and mean as a dirt bike should be! The standard KTM digital panel is all she comes with. Old Wooden Wabash Boxcar @ Monticello RR Museum A very very old wooden Wabash boxcar on display @ the Monticello RR Museum during a special railfest event. The event featured train rides pulled by an old Illinois Central(IC) GP11 to the downtown Monticello IC Railroad Depot and back, as well as a few round trips on the Leviatron, a copy of an original steam locomotive built in the 1970s or 80s (it wasn't the original thing, just a copy, but it still runs on steam), as well as a bunch of other cool stuff such as speeders, handcars, and other old, historic diesel locomotives on display. The tracks which go from the museum to downtown Monticello also connect with an NS mainline a mile past the Monticello Depot, making it easy for new rolling stock to be added to the museum. At the Doylestown Train Station , end of the R5 line . This is the new Doylestown train station built in 1876 to replace the wooden one built when the line was laid in 1856 . This is indeed the end of the line . The last station on the R5 line out of Philly . For the line to continue it would be necessary to go through numerous historic houses and two world class museums . The Toronto Cyclists Union have teamed up with the Toronto Media Lab to create a participatory installation where partygoers can pedal off their cocktails by riding a stationary bike through projected images of me when I was younger. Literary contributions include a Historic Visual Legacy and A Guidebook to Contemporary Architecture in Montreal and the upcoming guidebook for Toronto. The Toronto Carpenters Union, the folks who build me, are also supporting the evening and will be mocking up one of my more famous contemporary structures at the party. The party’s programme also includes the now traditional stickering of the Big Map of Toronto, a collection of books by Ben McNally, music by the DJ trio Track Meet (dancing is allowed), and other charming activities.
