Baby Eczema Lotion
Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (8-Pound), 1-Gallon Tub Since the 1960s, coconut oil has been mistakenly described as unhealthy. The media reported on studies finding that tropical coconut oils were laden with artery-clogging fats. What went unreported was the fact that the coconut oil used in the studies was hydrogenated — not the virgin oil used for centuries as a staple food. The fact is, coconut oil is cholesterol-free and rich in medium-chain good fats that doctors recommend. So enjoy the heavenly, creamy taste of the tropics. How coconut oil is processed is the key to optimizing its taste, texture, color, and aroma. Within two hours of Nutiva’s coconuts being chopped, the oil is cold-pressed at below 104 degree Farenheit. Contrast this with 99 percent of the coconut oil used today in cooking and body care. Their coconut is chopped and left to dry in the sun for days. Then the meat is scooped out and sent thousands of miles to giant oil mills where the oxidizing coco meat is refined, bleached, and / or deodorized. Ironically, this product is often labeled as certified organic. (15) eczema. it's not ringworm. The dermatologist says it's eczema. Based on new research, this book has everything the millions of eczema sufferers need to know to free themselves from unbearable itching and unsightly rashes. Eczema–Free For Life contains the latest medical information about the cause, symptoms, and treatments of eczema and is written both for adults with eczema and the parents of children with eczema. In addition to the most recent medical research, Dr. Nasir offers guidance for home care and ways to cope with the psychological impact of the disorder. None of the popular books about eczema currently on the market is written by a practicing dermatologist and none is based on up–to–date science. New research has conclusively demonstrated that eczema is the result of the abnormal development of some twenty genes responsible for controlling how the skin interacts with the environment. When the skin's barrier function fails, irritants pass through to underlying tissue and trigger the itchy rash that characterizes eczema. Dr. Nasir will explain new and more powerful treatments that are being developed based on these new discoveries as well as point out reliable holistic remedies that have worked for centuries. BABY POEMS FOR BOYS : FOR BOYS
Baby Poems For Boys
I Promise: A Mother's Poem to Her Son A mother and son share a special bond as active little boys love to write on walls, flush toys down the potty, and play video games. "I Promise" is a touching and funny poem from a mother to her son on how she will do her best (though she won't always be perfect!) in raising him through various stages in his life. Using mixed media to portray comical pictures, "I Promise" engages both chidren and adults. It makes a fabulous gift for mothers, sons of all ages, and has even been embraced by single mothers as the mother in the story does everything from playing football to managing finances while raising her son. (6) The Mermaid's Tresses THE MERMAID'S TRESSES: The Secret Lives of Seaweeds By Giles Watson CODIUM Velveted and branched as antlers, Swaying slightly with the tide-flow, I reach for them, bare To the elbow. And the touch of them is algal, Like sodden felt, gloves Covering blunt fingers. I pluck at them where Their ends probe. Nip off the tip, and the scar heals. Last digit of a mangled thumb, Lost long ago. ULVA LACTUCA In the pressure-lantern light it was the filmy greenness beneath the ripples, where the fishes hid, when we dipped our knives and enameled plates, to wash them: Sea lettuce. I lay awake thinking of it all night. And in the morning, we harvested the flaccid Ulva, and it clung to our fingers as we crammed it into plastic bags. I stuck some in my mouth and chewed - it tasted salty and would not be swallowed - and we carried it to camp, pounded it with oatmeal flour, baking laver over a spitting fire of eucalyptus and Banksia cones, open mouthed and glowing. In the smoke we ate them, and the spitting embers made them taste better than they might have been: a bright green pungency breathed out through my nose with each mouthful. It was a cunning way to persuade a boy to eat his vegetables: I even forgave the crunch of sand against my tooth. Source material: Ulva, or sea-lettuce, is delicious when cooked. It grows in rockpools both in Britain and in Australia, and like the red seaweed, Porphyra, it makes excellent laver bread. This poem is based on memories of camping with my parents when I was a small boy, at Picnic Point, south of Bermagui, N.S.W. To make laver bread, simmer Ulva or Palmaria for up to five hours in a little water, until there is very little liquid left. For every four parts of the boiled seaweed, add one part oatmeal and stir. Form the resulting mixture into cakes two inches in diameter and two thirds of an inch thick. Fry rapidly in butter until golden brown, and eat. HOLDFASTS Weed-flesh, wind-wracked, unbleeding Clumped and kicked along the strand. The stench and slickness of it; Holdfasts clench like claws. Encrustations craze them, salt caked, Calcareous. Crabs scuttle, crustaceans Jerk their joints within them. Stalkeyed, Secretive; jostling for space. You should have seen the storm That wrenched them from rocks Fathoms down, their forests Of leathered leaves whirled By ocean winds. Water A flurry of whiteness, then Browned by shreds of weed. Lifted, cliff high, and dumped, With shrimps - bug-eyed, Planktonic, air-drowned And spasmodic - the holdfasts, Amputated from concretions, Writhe in wind, like severed worms. And all our glib presumptions Wither with them: we too toil To build on rock – and wind And water ruin us. Source material: Written after a Force 9 gale on St. Mary’s on 27th August, 2004. The holdfasts of brown seaweeds look like roots, but their function is limited to anchoring the plants to rocks; they do not absorb nutrients like the roots of land plants. KILP BURNERS One woman smokes a pipe, superfluous as watering petunias in the rain, for both are shrouded in kilp smoke, like black and white ghosts. She has no feet, floats above the fuming pit with a look on her face which tells all a historian needs to know about the smell. The other’s head is half obscured, but she is past coughing, past involuntary weeping. It is almost the end of the women’s shift, soon the men will come with rakes to sift the steaming heap, to work it up like molten lead. By dawn it forms a hardened clump, ready for the breaking. Thirty shillings a ton in this waning age, and fifty kilns in which to burn it. A pother of poverty hangs over the islands. In Orkney, As in Scilly, the industry is dying, and the reek of burning dissipates. One-eyed, skinless, veins pulsating the Nuckelavee sinks himself. The horses of Stronsay freed from Mortasheen. Source material: Kilp burning was common in coastal Britain from the early eighteenth to the early nineteenth century, seaweeds of the genus Laminaria being particularly rich in the soda needed for pottery-glazing, glassmaking and soap manufacture. Numerous old Scillonian photographs document the noisome nature of the labour, and to this day the stone pits in which the kelp was burnt can be seen on Toll’s Island and in various other places throughout the Scillies. The Scillonian poet Robert Maybee gave a detailed account of the kilp industry in his Sixty-Eight Years’ Experience on the Scilly Islands, reprinted in R.L. Bowley, The Fortunate Islands, A History of the Isles of Scilly, Berkshire, 1968, pp. 81-82. According to Maybee, kilp was worth ?5 a ton when he first saw it being manufacture Nikki Giovanni ~ I Have a Dream Poem "In The Spirit of Martin" by Nikki Giovanni This is a sacred poem…blood has been shed to consecrate it… wash your hands…remove your shoes…bow your head …I…I…I Have a Dream That was a magical time…Hi Ho Silver Away… Oh Cisco/Oh Pancho…Here I Come To Save The Day… I want the World to see what they did to my boy… No No No I’m not going to move…If we are Wrong… then the Constitution of the United States is Wrong …Montgomery…Birmingham…Selma…Four little Girls… Constant Threats…Constant Harassment…Constant Fear… SCLC…Ralph and Martin…Father Knows Best… Leave It To Beaver…ED SULLIVAN…How Long…Not Long But what…Mr. Thoreau said to Mr. Emerson…are you doing out? Baby Names For Twin Girls
once upon a time there was a little girl named emily who brought her friend named sarah along with her to a family picnic. they decided to wear matching outfits. at the picnic, about half of the people asked them if they were twins. sometimes they said yes and sometimes they said no. eventually emily and sarah got bored of the picnic so they took a walk around the block with emily's older sister. as they were walking, they found a garage sale. they wanted to buy this baby toy, so they asked this lady with a tattoo how much it costed. she said it was 50 cents. then emily's older sister told the lady with the tattoo that she only had a 50 dollar bill with her. the tattoo lady didn't have change for a 50 dollar bill so she gave emily and sarah the baby toy for free. then they all lived happily ever after. the end. 48 hrs and growing Amber gave birth to 2 healthy babies on Feb. 26th (Thurs.) 1 boy and 1 girl. CRY BABY VIDEO - CRY BABY
Cry Baby Video
The Cry Baby Killer (Back-to-Back Jack Edition) THE CRY BABY KILLER: Don't miss a young Jack Nicholson, one of Hollywood's most enduring and celebrated icons, as he makes his screen debut starring in this Roger Corman classic. Seventeen-year-old Jimmy Wallace (Nicholson) is a jilted teen with a big chip on his shoulder. In a brawl over a girl, Jimmy grabs for a gun, shoots and panics, thinking he's killed one of the punks. Jimmy accidentally involves three hostages, who include a mom and her baby, by ducking into a storeroom. Despite the best efforts of the police, Jimmy is too scared to surrender. A media circus develops, adding more pressure to a wild standoff. THE LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS: Enjoy back-to-back Jack with this chilling cult classic, THE LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. Shot in just two days, this beat-era favorite packs plenty of inspired lunacy. Seymour, the inept assistant florist, saves his job by nurturing a man-eating plant to health and drawing customers - and more than a little blood. As the chorus of "Feed me, FEED me!" coming from the talking plant reaches a crescendo, Seymour is forced to find more victims. Jack Nicholson's breakout moment comes in his comic turn as a masochistic dental patient who gets giddy over the prospect of having his teeth pulled! Many fans will be taken by surprise to learn that two early Roger Corman films, Cry Baby Killer and Little Shop of Horrors, feature Jack Nicholson in his first roles. Cry Baby Killer is a schlocky West Side Story-ish tale with a jazzy soundtrack, in which Jimmy Wallace tries to steal his girl, Carol, back from gangster Manny Cole. Jimmy's clumsily naive gunfire complicates his situation, involving innocent bystanders. The film succeeds because of its '50s charm, but mainly because of Nicholson's good acting, which he manages despite a lame script. Little Shop of Horrors is a more entertaining, original story about Mushnick's Florist, a flower shop where employee, Seymour, breeds a blood-sucking carnivorous plant that encourages Seymour's increasing murderous dementia. This hilariously bizarre story clearly inspired early John Waters films with its absurd characters, such as a perverted dentist and young Nicholson, who plays the dentist's masochistic patient who craves to get his teeth drilled sans painkillers. Little Shop of Horrors is colorized on this DVD, lending it added campy charm. This Back-To-Back Jack may brag Cry Baby Killer, though the real attractions are the bonus feature and film introductions by The Man himself, Roger Corman. --Trinie Dalton (19) A Fox Went Out on a Chilly Night.... I was trying to sing Mackenzie to sleep, but she instead was interestedly watching me. Unbeknownst to me, Kat was videoing the whole ordeal. And in case you don't know the words: The fox went out on a chilly night He prayed for the moon to give him light, For he'd many a mile to go that night Before he reached the town-o! Town-o! town-o! For he had many a mile to go that night Before he reached the town-o. Well, he ran til he came to a great big pen, Where the ducks and the geese were kept therein "A couple of you will grease my chin Before I leave this town-o! Town-o! town-o! A couple of you will grease my chin Before I leave this town-o." He grabbed the gray goose by his neck, And flung a duck across his back; He did not mind the "Quack, quack, quack!" And their legs all dangling down-o! Down-o! down-o! He did not mind the "Quack, quack, quack!" And their legs all dangling down-o. Then old Mother Flipper Flapper jumped out of bed, Out of the window she popped her head, Crying, "John, John! The gray goose is gone And the fox is on the town-o! Town-o! town-o!" Crying, "John, John! The gray goose is gone And the fox is on the town-o!" Then John he went to the top of the hill, Blew his horn both loud and shrill. The fox he said, "I'd better flee with my kill-- Or they'll soon be on my trail-o! Trail-o! trail-o!" The fox he said, "I'd better flee with my kill-- Or they'll soon be on my trail-o!" The fox, he ran till he came to his den, And there were the little ones, eight, nine, ten, Saying, "Daddy, Daddy, better go back again, 'Cause it must be a mighty fine town-o! Town-o! town-o!" They said, "Daddy, Daddy, better go back again, 'Cause it must be a mighty fine town-o! Then the fox and his wife without any strife, Cut up the goose with a fork and knife. They never had such a supper in their life, And the little ones chewed on the bones-o! Bones-o! bones-o! They never had such a supper in their life, And the little ones chewed on the bones-o! R.I.P Savannah I don't usually (ok, ever) post videos, but today our old cat, Savannah, was put down. This video is from February last year, when she was fit and well. It shows her personality quite well - she was a nut, loved a cuddle and a scritch, and for some reason, the washing machine. Savannah had a congenital heart murmur, and the cold weather we've had recently turned it into heart congestion. Rather than trying to keep her going with drugs that would've lessened her quality of life, we chose to say goodbye and ease her suffering. She really was not a well kitty in the end. Pardon the crappy quality and the crying baby. This is in her memory. cry baby video The beauty of this entry in the Baby Einstein catalog is its integration of puppets, toys, and live farm footage to help babies and toddlers make the connection between their plastic play sets and stuffed animals with images of a real farm. As always, the spoken language is minimal, omitting the pesky verbs and adjectives that would confuse the very young. The 30-minute main program is divided into sections: barns and equipment, animals, planting crops, and harvesting. Background music ranges from "Old MacDonald" to Schumann, and DVD extras include a 6-minute puppet show and visual "discovery cards" identifying animals and farm paraphernalia with a single word. (13) his profile i had my 22-week ultrasound last wednesday. we found out that our baby is a boy, that he's healthy, his heart is functioning just as it should, he is very active and stubborn, and loves to have his right hand up by his face (even in the 12-week ultrasound, it was his right thumb he was sucking - can fetuses display a hand preference, right or left, that early?). the appointment itself was very odd, as we didn't have the same tech we did last time, and this one was in a huge rush and obviously had other things she wanted to be doing - even though she didn't have any appointments after us, and it was the clinic's slow day. we were in and out in 10 minutes, and i nearly cried, looking at the strip of pictures she'd printed, because i had no idea what on earth i was looking at. it took the help of three friends to figure out this shot (i've rotated + cropped it); there's also one of his spine, one of a limb, and two shots of his boy parts (which my mom has specifically told me she will NOT display on her refrigerator). the instant the tech squirted the ultrasound goo on my belly, the baby started kicking, and didn't let up until late that night. john has gotten to feel him move several times now, and there are some times where i stop whatever i'm doing and just stare at my belly, because now i can see the baby move - it's the oddest thing! bulges and lumps as the baby bumps + grinds his way around my uterus. it's absolutely amazing, and whenever he starts kicking me, i lose my train of thought, and focus on the feeling. i have a son. it's the most incredible, humbling thing. #10 Understated sign, minimalist interior, a well kept secret among the Victoria B.C. gastronomic cognoscenti. If you just walk by it without knowing it is a restaurant, blink and you'll miss it. The chef/owner Mirjana is a character with a mercurial personality but a heart of gold. She lives above the restaurant. She serves three entrees at lunchtime, one fish, one meat, one vegetarian. Maybe a dessert. That's it. Nothing But Love For You Baby Heavy D
Stripped Clean: Down to Nothing But the Cross (Simply for Students) From the back cover: "Do you own your stuff...or does it own you? Like you, Jesus had stuff. Unlike you it didn't have him. Take a guilt-free, life changing look at what you have...what it means...and discover how to tread lightly in the world as the steward Jesus calls you to be. Oh, yeah: and don't get too attached to this book. As you change, it changes too." From the back cover: "Do you own your stuff...or does it own you? Like you, Jesus had stuff. Unlike you it didn't have him. Take a guilt-free, life changing look at what you have...what it means...and discover how to tread lightly in the world as the steward Jesus calls you to be. Oh, yeah: and don't get too attached to this book. As you change, it changes too." (15) Clawed My eyes feel heavy, but anyone who really knows me knows they won’t close. I’m too busy thinking. Thinking about normal things and things that aren’t so normal, yet both seem to mesh nowadays. I wonder where you are and what you’re doing and if you ever wonder the same about me. I think…I KNOW where you are and I KNOW what you’re doing, and it doesn’t even matter at all. I think about how choices can really screw shit up. Like… Perhaps if I hadn’t let myself love you, I’d be different. Different in a better way, that is. My wall is covered in photographs of things I love and there’s one up there from the trip we took together. But you’re not in it. I’m in it…that’s what I try to focus on. I focus on myself in the memories that we shared together. What I gained out of that trip, besides the time with you. I also think I have to do my laundry soon. I think about how many years have passed since I was a baby. Truly, I am still that little girl, I think. I haven’t changed, really. Even my face is the same. I’ve always felt these feelings, I’ve always dealt with the same issues, and I’ve always needed people. Now, at 18, I’m being forced to confront myself, which is something I’ve never had to do. I’ve constantly dealt with the trials and tribulations of friendships, relationships, and conflict with my parents. But I’ve really never dealt with myself. I guess that’s one thing I can thank you for. Making me face the one person who’s always plagued me. Myself. And I can also thank you for the sweatshirt with your school on it, because when people ask if I know someone that attends there, sometimes it feels nice to say that no, I don’t. I’m a scary person when you really come face to face with me. At least for me, I am. I’m intimidating. I’ve never been this intimidated by a person before. I’ve been shy and I’ve been infatuated, but never overwhelmed by someone’s personality. I think this is because when I’m dealing with myself, I can’t act. Even if I try to act, I know the truth, so my acting really does nothing but consume energy. With everyone else in my life I can put on a grand show. Even if it’s not grand, it’s not the shit show that truly is. What I think about is…when I climb into bed at night there is nobody there to judge me but myself. I have to be happy with whatever I’ve done in that day, or that week, or that month. Even when I climbed into bed with you, you weren’t the one who had to approve of me. I’m discovering hidden talents of mine, such as repression, functionality without sleep, and the ability to detach. It’s fantastically eye opening. Not to say I’ll never fix this. I know I will, because really, there is no other choice. Does it feel like pure torture to go through this process? Yes. Physically, mentally, and emotionally I am in pain. But what other options do I have? I envy your lifestyle, because the rest of your life, you’ll be given orders and not have to make any major choices. Your heart will remain the cold, bloodless, beating, organ it is. I only wish I could experience such emotional oblivion. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to not feel. To be able to love someone one day, and throw him or her out like a piece of shit, the next. But in all honesty, that’s not who I am, and really, I do not wish to be like you. I’m proud of my compassion and my ability to love. I’m glad that I’m not limited to marrying someone in my field of work in order to have a somewhat normal relationship. I have options, I am wanted, I have so much love to give, and that is what makes me who I am. My heart. Yes, I am an intellect. I’ve found though, that my heart usually takes the lead in making the important decisions. I am okay with that, because I will never be able to stop it from happening. My heart will lead me in the right direction. And now that I think about it, I remember you saying once…”I can only take regular photos, not the artsy stuff.” I think that’s the whole thing…right in that tiny statement. You’re great at being mechanical. You know the inside of a car like the back of your hand, you can navigate an obstacle course faster than the fastest, and you can lie quickly, harmlessly, and precisely. But you don’t feel. You don’t feel anything. You don’t see the beauty in things; you only know the settings on the camera. You never truly saw me. You knew what to say and when to say it (most of the time) and you also knew how be physically intimate. Not to say either of those are bad, but they’re simply…robotic. No compassionate human would not have discarded me in the fashion that you did. But the thing is, I’m not mad about that, because sadly, you don’t have the ability to do any different. And that is not your fault. We both know whose fault that is. You are not normal nor are you loving. You are cold, selfish, and obedient. You’ll be able to murder plenty of men without feeling shameful, just as your career will require you to do. You’ll be able to leave your wif 254/365 - The Magical word 'try'. 11/05/08 Well, I'm tentatively upright again. :) and look....my face! ha..... First, thank you so much everyone for all the Flickr mail and support this week, I really do appreciate and love you all for it. I suppose it's apparent now that I've miscarried.... There is probably nothing harder than to find out you're pregnant and then a split second later have logic tell you that you are losing it...... Anyways, I haven't really wanted to talk about it until I really knew what was going on. On Monday I found out I was pregnant after taking a test because I'd been having regular intense cramps for over a week(ah...and um...ten days of bleeding)....ended up at the ER that night and they determined it wasn't in my uterus any longer (if it ever was), but couldn't quite tell if it was an ectopic pregnancy. Just short of pulling me into surgery around 8pm, my doctor showed up and showed her concerns that even though it could be, we couldn't be sure....and allowed me to come home under the condition that I monitored my bleeding/pain and came right back if anything changed. Yesterday morning I had a second ultrasound and blood test, and although we confirmed I didn't need surgery and wasn't ectopic....I in fact was still pregnant (in a manner of speaking) because my pregnancy hormone increased from Monday. Long story short, no idea where the lil bugger is, but he's still living. Now I'm on a medication that basically attacks any rapidly growing cells, the side effect being heavy cramping for me..... Odd....even though he can't survive regardless....I feel guilty like I'm killing it...... Been a traumatic week at best. BUT. Sometimes you don't realize how badly you want something until you get it just long enough to have it taken from you.... The hubby and I have decided to actually "try". Maybe we're finally ready for a baby..... I've quit drinking completely, I'll be quitting smoking this coming month....I have to grow up and get my body and life together.....cos..... well. I suppose it's normal to feel like it's your fault? Even if it isn't, it will always feel that way. So, good comes from evil......The magical word here is we're going to try. :) and damn. if anyone actually read that....I"m sorry, rofl! :) xoxo nothing but love for you baby heavy d The truth, like love, can be elusive, unless you’re willing to fight for it. Sparks fly when two top notch attorneys battle each other in the high risk arena of the courtroom, but when a strange turn of events thrusts one of them from the role of advocate to witness, prosecutor Ryan Foster and defense attorney Brett Logan join forces in their search for the truth. Working together they quickly learn their attraction to each other is as strong as their commitment to justice, but courthouse romance is not without complications. Throw in a murder case with bizarre twists and turns, and even the strongest attraction will be put to the test. THEMES FOR BABY GIRL NURSERY - BABY GIRL NURSERY
Themes For Baby Girl Nursery
Giraffe Cookies I made a bunch of these for a friends baby shower that is coming up this weekend to give as favors. I will package them in cellophane bags with sheer brown ribbons and tags. I wish I had done a dark brown outline around the cookie first then flooded with the ivory color but I didn't think of it until 3/4 of the cookies were already flooded with the ivory. Oh well, I think they are pretty cute anyway. They didn't really have a specific theme for the shower so I chose to do this cute little guy from the nursery items she picked out. She doesn't know if she is having a boy or a girl so she is doing the nursery in a neutral pattern with this little giraffe in tans/browns/ivory. The cookies are vanilla sugar and they are decorated with a glaze. I think I have said this before - but its all thanks to Pam and her wonderful blog that I discovered the beauty of using a glaze instead of royal icing. I personally like working with the glaze so much better. Thanks again Pam! Lady Bug Baby Shower God's timing is perfect...in the midst of my sorrow at losing my dad, there is solace in looking forward to a new life. My nephew and his sweet wife are expecting a baby girl in a few weeks and there is a baby shower this weekend. The nursery is decorated with ladybugs and pink gingham so I used that as my theme for the card. tfl! Stamps: Hero Arts- Stripes Pattern Cling; Raindrop Background; Antique Engravings. STEPS TO HAVING A BABY : STEPS TO HAVING
Steps To Having A Baby
7 Steps to Bonding with Your Stepchild Practical, realistic, and upbeat advice--from sharing a bathroom to initiating conversations--for people who "inherit" children along with a new spouse. The success or failure of a stepparent to bond with stepchildren can make or break a new marriage. But this book has a refreshing message--it is possible to achieve longlasting, rewarding relationships with your new children. Most stepparents feel caught in a bind because in order to connect with their stepchild, they have to reach out--but not too much, too little, or too deliberately. And relationships with stepchildren are inherently different from those with biological children who love their parent unconditionally. But these 7 basic steps will give you the essentials, from deciding what kind of stepparent you want to be to realizing that love comes later. (13) 007..BOND...Baby Bond This shot of Marcus reminded me of James Bond....007. You know, the secret agent, in all of the Bond movies. Well...as has been no "secret" to you all......I have had a bit of a hard time since Barbie the goat died. I have been on the goat hill only once since she died and her death was October 17. The goats, cat and horse are getting their regular care....regular food.....all of the t's crossed and all of the i's dotted........just not the Mama's love. Please don't worry about the animals.....I send Savior's cat food for the cats and the rest of the food and hay is in the barn....plenty. I plan on changing that. This week I am going back on the goat hill. I cannot "stay away" because it is easier. I know it is freezing up there......soupy muddy up there and a lot of work that needs done before winter and babies come. Thank you all for being so supportive...for caring so much and sharing your own stories of the loss of a loved pet or a loved human. I think why it was so hard losing Barbie is that she did not want to leave.....and it was so very very sudden. I don't think I adjust too well at "not being able to save the world".....as my Mother warned me years ago to "quit trying".....as it wasn't possible. One step at a time "Click of the day" at shuttersisters...yeahhh!! Since my kids are a bit older now, I forget how everyday things can be such a challenge for a baby! It makes you think a little when you watch a baby tackle something like a staircase...they have to take it one step at a time. I guess that's how we all face our challenges! WHEN DO BABIES DROP THEIR MORNING NAP. WHEN DO BABIES D
When Do Babies Drop Their Morning Nap
Bright Shiny Morning One of the most celebrated and controversial authors in America delivers his first novel--a sweeping chronicle of contemporary Los Angeles that is bold, exhilarating, and utterly original. Dozens of characters pass across the reader's sight lines--some never to be seen again--but James Frey lingers on a handful of LA's lost souls and captures the dramatic narrative of their lives: a bright, ambitious young Mexican-American woman who allows her future to be undone by a moment of searing humiliation; a supremely narcissistic action-movie star whose passion for the unattainable object of his affection nearly destroys him; a couple, both nineteen years old, who flee their suffocating hometown and struggle to survive on the fringes of the great city; and an aging Venice Beach alcoholic whose life is turned upside down when a meth-addled teenage girl shows up half-dead outside the restroom he calls home. Throughout this strikingly powerful novel there is the relentless drumbeat of the millions of other stories that, taken as a whole, describe a city, a culture, and an age. A dazzling tour de force, Bright Shiny Morning illuminates the joys, horrors, and unexpected fortunes of life and death in Los Angeles. (16) good morning I used to chuckle at people who had to make a conscious effort to take a photograph a day. Now I'm laughing at myself. Yesterday, I stuck a wooden bird in my hand at the last minute, because I just couldn't squeeze in a real photo. This morning, I woke up and knew it would be my only opportunity. It is 12:33. Here's what I've done. (This is more for me than for you!) · made the lunches & my daughter's breakfast · walked the dogs · put out all the paper recycling (which had to be broken down and boxed) · went to the bank · washed two loads of laundry · ate breakfast · researched and wrote three pages of King Cake history. I've got a wicked, gurgling stomach, but I'm trying to ignore it. Morning & Fisherman Early morning 5am! I was on shore, waiting for my boat, to go deep in see for dolphin watching. Then I saw this fisherman. Everything was so magical at that time and I captured that moment. when do babies drop their morning nap A passionate and original new voice of the African-American literary tradition. Chris Jones has a gift for creating desire-a result of his own passionate desire to be anywhere but where he is, to be anyone but himself. Sick of the constraints of his black working-class town, he uses his knack for creating effective ad campaigns to land a dream job in London. But life soon takes a turn for the worse, and unexpectedly Chris finds himself back where he started, forced to return to Philadelphia where his only job prospect is answering phones at the electrical company and helping the poor pay their heating and lighting bills. Surrounded by his brethren, the down and out, the indigent, the hopeless, Chris hits bottom. Only a stroke of inspiration and faith can get him back on his feet. The funny and moving tale of a young black man who, in the process of trying to break free from the city he despises, is forced to come to terms with himself. [2008/06/28 4:25] LapisLazuli Tomorrow: :) January 22, 2009 I don't pretend to put much stock in it, or really know what I'm talking about, but I have always been a little worried because, as far as I can tell, I have a REALLY short, or just EXTREMELY disrupted life line. This is my hand post-bubble bath. Not too prune-y as my hands weren't really in the water much. I finished Brideshead Revisited tonight. I enjoyed it rather a lot. Not at all the style of writing I have been taking in lately, but engaging nonetheless. As for the photo, I just really couldn't be bothered today. I've felt a little blah the last few days. I think the ol' Seasonal Affective Disorder is kicking in. Plus I've just felt stressed the last week or so. So much to get done, so little time. I'm so anxious for my trip at the end of February but already feeling the burden of my procrastination. I've been fending off a migrane all day, and to top off it all off... I got a speeding ticket on my way home from work. Ugh. Because THAT'S what I want to be spending my already-stretched-too-thin money on. The weekend should be better. I don't have to work so maybe I can FINALLY force myself to knock a few things off the ol' To Do list. I also have drinks with friends to look forward to as well as the promise of a long-overdue phone call. If I'm feeling less germy maybe I'll even go poke the baby. (Doesn't that sound like a horrible euphemism? I really just want to poke a baby. He likes it. Trust me.) All The Way (5) goodnight, my sweet baby girl dear smilla, fifteen years ago, you were hiding in the back of a cold steel cage, rejected twice and filled with dejection. cowering in your little corner, you refused to eat. florian and i looked at each other and said, THAT ONE. he held you in his arms, and you fell asleep. and we knew, in that moment, that we belonged to you. thank you, my sweet baby girl, for following me everywhere, sitting at my feet every time i went to the bathroom, sleeping next to me, crawling under the covers into my armpit when it got cold, hovering near me when i cried from depression and despair, making me laugh as you chased and retrieved your orange bally like a puppydog, chirping back and forth with me in our little meowy conversations, sitting like a statue on the dining table, not taking any guff from harvey, curling up in my lap in a perfect little ball of utter softness, curling up in susan's lap when she came to visit, sleeping on the mountains of my chest, purring to the point of drooling, sipping cereal milk off my finger, and showing me the true meaning of unconditional love. you had my heart, smilla. and tonight, i gladly gave a piece of it to you, as you drifted off into your new forever home. i'll see you on the other side, with a whole bowl of milk and the neverending catbed of my lap. rest in peace and love, my sweet. you deserve nothing less. i miss you, me My Children with Dr. Victor Kissel Here is my son, future daughter-in-law and, beautiful grandson with Dr Kissel. This man is the far most sweetest man ever. I do not know know much of the details on how the kids found this doctor but he is truely one of the greatest doctors I've met in over 30yrs. He arrived to help deliver my gransdson and when he walked through the door he had an angelic smile. He was overseeing an intern deliver the baby. He made sure my son was involved in every way he even had him cut the cord. He made time to stay and spend time and talk with the family for an hour after the birth. I was so impressed! The next day after work I went to visit my kids late in the evening at the hospital and to my surprise he was there at 10:00 and night. Wow! He had a practice across town and still did his rounds late just to make sure my daughter-in-law was okay. Two months have passed and today I went for support for the kids because my grandson was getting circu* and to my surprise it was Dr Kissel preforming it. When I saw him he welcomed everyone with a hug.Right then and there, I was sure my grandson was going to be in good hands. To all out there who are looking for a great OB/GYN you will absoultely LOVE HIM he posesses everything a great doctor should!!!
