Giraffe Cookies
I made a bunch of these for a friends baby shower that is coming up this weekend to give as favors. I will package them in cellophane bags with sheer brown ribbons and tags. I wish I had done a dark brown outline around the cookie first then flooded with the ivory color but I didn't think of it until 3/4 of the cookies were already flooded with the ivory. Oh well, I think they are pretty cute anyway. They didn't really have a specific theme for the shower so I chose to do this cute little guy from the nursery items she picked out. She doesn't know if she is having a boy or a girl so she is doing the nursery in a neutral pattern with this little giraffe in tans/browns/ivory. The cookies are vanilla sugar and they are decorated with a glaze. I think I have said this before - but its all thanks to Pam and her wonderful blog that I discovered the beauty of using a glaze instead of royal icing. I personally like working with the glaze so much better. Thanks again Pam!
Lady Bug Baby Shower
God's timing is perfect...in the midst of my sorrow at losing my dad, there is solace in looking forward to a new life. My nephew and his sweet wife are expecting a baby girl in a few weeks and there is a baby shower this weekend. The nursery is decorated with ladybugs and pink gingham so I used that as my theme for the card.
