He blinks, and gulps. And realizes his gun is laying on the floor a foot from him. He stands... suddenly feeling like Indian Jones fighting that guy on the airplane. Yet ANOTHER harrison ford reference. "HOw's ten bucks sound?" He says UAC Grunt nA?3 chuckles at the man's feeble attempt of being funny...he responds with a massive jab being swinged Laz's way, aiming for the left portion of his jaw Lazarus Lowenstark half ducks the punch, but the explosion actually pulls him CLOSER to the punch. He's socked, and flips over the control panel with a curse. He's back up quick though, and charges right toward the man. At the last moment, drops, pivots on a knee, and tries for a spinning leg sweep. UAC Grunt nA?3 had stumbled against the ship's controls once the blast rocks the ship, he caused the ENTIRE SHIP TO START STEERING TO THE LEFT, OFF COURSE AND TOWARDS A LIGHTHOUSE "ya ain't gunna go nuwhere little man" the man chuckles out in an amused tone, Laz's kick hits him in the shin with little effect, the man was like a massive rock, two gloved hands are joined together, going down on Laz's top of the head like a hammer "take this!" he grunts out Lazarus Lowenstark sighs heavily, clearly disappointed by the failure of his move. He steps back quickly though, avoiding the double hammer strike! He retuns fire with a trio of quick jabs, hoping to pop the big man off balance. UAC Grunt nA?3 takes all the blows to the chest, he doesn't even frown but stumbles back hitting the controls once again, he lets out one of those megadriver boss laughters "HA HA HA HA HAAAAA!" and lands a knee to Laz's stomach, trying to hit him on the gut, hard Lazarus Lowenstark frowns again, "Oh COME on!" He shouts, but is smashed into by a heavy knee. He coughs as the air escapes his lungs, and looks groggily up to the guy. "How did you even hide..." he asks, and launches straight up, trying to smack the top of his head into the big guy's nose. Bianca Bender stands aiming towards the broken out windows of the front of the control room...waitiing her arm steady on the two fighting for a clear shot of the man attacking Laz... UAC Grunt nA?3 is startled with the man's jump, Laz's head hitting the grunt's face in a massive smash, a loud crack being heard while his nose breaks, both hands instinctively holding his bleeding nose while he bends over, back exposed for the hitting... Lazarus Lowenstark hops onto the man's back, trying to sink in a sleeper hold. He grabs the man's broken nose, pulling his face up, and slips his other arm under his chin. He tries to lock it in. He's growling into the man's ear, "Gooo to sleeep, gooo to sleep." Bianca Bender frowns watching Laz focused on his movement she'd move her finger away from the trigger and lower the gun her arm beginning to tire from holding the stance...talking low under her breath.."beat his ass baby..." UAC Grunt nA?3's neck was like a freakin sequoia, he keeps his muscles tensed while swingin the man around like a ragdoll, the grunt's nose bleeding all over the engineer's coat. "FUCK YE YE CUNT!" he barks out madly while giving Laz an elbow to the ribs to release him, swingin his body hard to dangle the small engineer towards the window, hoping he'd toss him outside. Lazarus Lowenstark is flung clear out of the window, which had little glass left on it. He sails free, for a moment thinking he was flying his glider again, and hits the Anti Air gun at the front of the ship QUITE awkwardly. He flops like a ragdoll, rolling down to the deck of hte ship... UAC Grunt nA?3 hops onto the controls of the ship, smashing buttons with his heavy boots, he stands there crouched for a second like an ape, a smile crooked in his face while he looked at his target down below - Lazarus - yes you were his now! The massive grunt ignores the fightin that unravels in the cockpit and jumps to the deck, both feet aimed for Lazarus' chest Lazarus Lowenstark looks up in time to see the giant coming down on him. He barely rolls to the side as the grunt lands heavily next to him. The "guest bed". Our sad, broken futon. You can see in the picture how the left side sinks down. We really need to re-duct tape that thing back together. When we were looking at the house, this room was the only one not painted taupe as it was obviously the baby's room, so I took every brightly colored thing we used to have in the living room and put it in here. And if you're wondering why I have such bad decorating taste, I originally bought all of this bright stuff to help keep me from getting depressed in the winter while Brian was deployed. "Kids Stuff" Pac-Man album and story book w/ album series is the cheesiest music i have, There's a bit of charm tho' .. and there's a real sweetness to the characters and a slitghty different take on them than in the original cartoon and characters as they are presented today. The ghosts are refered to in these disks by their first names.. "Shadow","Bashful","Pokey", and "Speedy" .. and they talk hilarious. As in the cartoon ..i guess it is assumed that 'Speedy' (Pinky) is a guy ghost and nott he lady ghost she was originally interpreted as. However Speedy talks real fast.. "Whatdoyoumeaniamtalkingfastamillionmilesaminuitewithouttakingabreathhuhwhat..blahblahbla .. - ??" ..hi-pitch voice so funny she might as well be a crazy girl ghost. It's not clear.. but with the exception of Ms.Pac-man and Baby Pac ..the same guy is the voice for all the Ghosts and Pac-man himself. I think. Pac Baby is a feature on the graphic of this disc's side A .. but he is not on this particular album.. (tho the X-mas album and a story book album i have ..Pac-Baby is more prominent. This is the boy version of Pac-baby ..the one it is assumed to have grown up to be Pac-Jr. and not the Pac-Baby of today who is a girl.)" The designs of the Pac-Land characters on these albums is very VERY similar to the cabinet and pinball playfeild artwork on the U.S. versions of Ms.Pac-man,Baby Pac-Man, and the original Pac-Man pinball game. There's this pseudo like 'Fritz the Cat' feel to it.. and all the psycho buildings with faces n' stuff.. gives these characters a real distinct look compared to other interpretations of Pac n' pals. ..these designs are also very similar to the little 'Coleco' Pac-Man figures of Pzc,Ms. and Blinky.. so ..i betcha anything it was the same artist or artists that emulated eachother for these related designs i mentioned. I ain' kiddin' .. i haven't played everything.. but i've played some real strange sh7t growin' up.. Video Game cabinet artwork is a staple for me. Maybe i cannot name all the artists.. but i DO ..know the styles. .. this has been a mystery the artist here for years. I've got to solve it !! The artists (s) are so incredbile !! God ..d4mm that's a charming illustration .. ain' it ?! That's just gotta be the person that did all that cabinet art. And i know alotta people..so many at least ..had to have seen the U.S. Ms.Pac-Man Cabinet art .. Hoo boy .. ~~** ~ t Softball & Backpacking update Had a pretty good game last night. I fielded a couple innings and managed to get one at bat and hit it deep to center field for a RBI double. In the end, we won 9-5. So far we're undefeated and intend to stay that way. Go OddBallers! After the game, we headed over to Hoppy Brewing Company for food and booze. I also intended to use that time to hold a quick pre-trip meeting with the people attending the backpack trip next week. It turns out, of the 7 people interested, myself included, only 3 people are confirmed. Those people are me, my buddy Darryl and my pal Josh from Nashville. Everyone else seemed to have valid excuses... - Tim's wife is due to have their baby the week following the trip and she's nervous about having him out of town at the moment. - Paul is overloaded at work and can't get the time off like he planned. - Liz, Paul's gf, isn't going cuz Paul isn't going. - Eric just picked up a bunch of freelance projects that he can't pass up. Whatevs. Three people will be just fine. Heck, I'd go solo if I had to. I've done it before and had an awesome time. So in true geek fashion, I got the laptop out of the car and proceeded to have a Skype video conference with Josh to talk about our trail, shared group gear, clothing, and meal planning. I think we got everything covered. I can't wait for next Wednesday! Tech stuff: slight Gaussian blur to smooth out her skin texture (legs and face/neck) as the bright sunlight really amplified any imperfection or blemish; Topaz Adjust (Strong Detail) to bring out the details and give the photo a hyper-realism feel; slight oval vignette to better frame Baby-Doll and draw the viewer's eyes into the center. Dr. Heart Explored [5dmk2, 50mm f1.4, CS3] This is the last of my “medical series” (for now). This fellow is a cardiologist with a sense of humour (which is quite rare). So, here is a joke which he may enjoy if he sees this: In a car garage, where a famous heart surgeon was waiting for the service manager to take a look at his Mercedes, there was a loud mouthed mechanic who was removing the cylinder heads from the motor of a car. He saw the surgeon waiting and lured him into an argument. He asked the doc after straightening up and wiping his hands on a rag, "Look at this car i'm working on. I also open hearts, take valves out, grind them, put in new parts, and when I finish this baby will purr like a kitten. So how come you get the big bucks, when you and I are doing basically the same work?" The surgeon very calmly leaned over and whispered to the loudmouth mechanic, "Try doing it with the engine running." [Side note: this picture really made me appreciate the 5dmk2's low light capabilities, very impressive. This was 1/125 at f2.2, ISO 800, no flash] Day 111: What to do when homebound.... While trying to get to the car in order to leave for church the day before this photo, I misstepped on a paver and injured my ankle when my ankle supinated more than 90 degrees and my lateral ankle bone hit the ground hard as my foot stayed put on the 2 in higher paver. Then, I cried like a baby. Afterwards, we went to the hospital to find that no gross abnormalities nor bone fractures were found on x-ray, but that I may have injured soft tissues such as ligaments. So, I was sent home with ice, a brace, and crutches and orders to put no weight on my foot/ankle for 3 days, and, if it didn't get better, to see an orthopedist. Needless to say, my desire to take photos has been impeded by pain, and so I used my cell phone to take a picture as a reminder of what I get to see a lot of for the next few days. If you've been around babies in the last few years, you've seen these newfangled toys that are abstract in color (or just black, white, and red) and make curious, crunching noises. Studies have shown that these types of toys stimulate newborns, expanding the capacity of their little sponge-like minds. That concept comes to the video age in Baby Einstein. This 30-minute tape is called a "video board book" and the creators instruct parents of 1- to 18-month-olds to use it that way: huddle around the TV often pointing out objects and interacting with the child as you would with a book. Bright toys, patterns, blocks, and the like move across the screen accompanied by natural sounds, music, and voices. English, Japanese, Russian, German, and other languages are heard telling nursery rhymes or counting to 20. Now the creators don't expect your baby to recite "Humpty Dumpty" in Spanish by the end of the tape, but, as they state in the introduction, hearing different languages invigorates a baby's mind. "Goofy Monster" baby shower cake with inspiration invitation Raychelle and Dante's baby shower theme was "Goofy Monsters"... a playful and unique concept I thought! They sent me one of the invitations for me to use as inspiration for the cake. A half-sheet is buttercream iced with "rough" texture to resemble the furry texture of a stuffed monster, some fondant fangs and "googly eyes" were added for a fun take on monster features.
