Car Baby Monitor
- A baby monitor, also known as a baby alarm, is a radio system used to remotely listen to sounds made by an infant. The transmitter, equipped with a microphone, is placed near to the child and the receiver equipped with a speaker, is carried by, or near to, the person caring for the infant.

This is the last of my “medical series” (for now). This fellow is a cardiologist with a sense of humour (which is quite rare). So, here is a joke which he may enjoy if he sees this:
In a car garage, where a famous heart surgeon was waiting for the service manager to take a look at his Mercedes, there was a loud mouthed mechanic who was removing the cylinder heads from the motor of a car. He saw the surgeon waiting and lured him into an argument.
He asked the doc after straightening up and wiping his hands on a rag, "Look at this car i'm working on. I also open hearts, take valves out, grind them, put in new parts, and when I finish this baby will purr like a kitten. So how come you get the big bucks, when you and I are doing basically the same work?"
The surgeon very calmly leaned over and whispered to the loudmouth mechanic, "Try doing it with the engine running."
[Side note: this picture really made me appreciate the 5dmk2's low light capabilities, very impressive. This was 1/125 at f2.2, ISO 800, no flash]

What to do when homebound....
While trying to get to the car in order to leave for church the day before this photo, I misstepped on a paver and injured my ankle when my ankle supinated more than 90 degrees and my lateral ankle bone hit the ground hard as my foot stayed put on the 2 in higher paver. Then, I cried like a baby. Afterwards, we went to the hospital to find that no gross abnormalities nor bone fractures were found on x-ray, but that I may have injured soft tissues such as ligaments. So, I was sent home with ice, a brace, and crutches and orders to put no weight on my foot/ankle for 3 days, and, if it didn't get better, to see an orthopedist.
Needless to say, my desire to take photos has been impeded by pain, and so I used my cell phone to take a picture as a reminder of what I get to see a lot of for the next few days.
