The frame, stem, and rear derailleur may be the only original components left. The biking bag I am going to use this serie for my upcoming exposition in september. It is just too bad that I still have a lot of ideas to use it, but i have to end it, at least for now. I still have a few left, but for now they are all taken and I have to make a selection of the 5 best shots for the exposition. I think I will continue this serie, as long as I have ideas with it. 365/35 B's new Bike Bags They were formerly Swiss ammunition bags, now they're bike bags. The Big Blue (Director's Cut) Experience the peril and intensity of free-diving the world s most dangerous sport in The Big Blue. Jacques (Jean-Marc Barr Breaking The Waves) and his friendly rival Enzo (Jean Reno The Professional) are considered masters of free-diving and have made a career out of this one-of-a-kind competition. Jacques life-long obsession with diving comes from his unusual bond with the sea while Enzo thrives on the challenges of its inherent danger. In his travels Jacques meets Johanna (Rosanna Arquette Pulp Fiction) who is attracted to his innocent qualities and follows him across Europe to share his adventures triumphs and ultimately tragic bond with Enzo. With breathtaking underwater photography and matching musical support from Eric Serra (The Fifth Element) The Big Blue immerses you in a life and death adventure you ll never forget.System Requirements:Starring: Rosanna Arquette Jean-Marc Barr and Jean Reno. Directed By: Luc Besson. Running Time: 168 Min. Color. This film is presented in "Widescreen" format. Copyright 2000 Columbia TriStar Home Video.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: DRAMA Rating: R UPC: 043396039278 Manufacturer No: 3927 A hit in Europe but a flop in the U.S.--where it was trimmed, rescored, and given a new ending--Luc Besson's The Big Blue has endured as a minor cult classic for its gorgeous photography (both on land and underwater) and dreamy ambiance. Jean-Marc Barr is a sweet and sensitive but passive presence as Jacques, a diver with a unique connection to the sea. He has the astounding ability to slow his heartbeat and his circulation on deep dives, "a phenomenon that's only been observed in whales and dolphins… until now," remarks one scientist. Kooky New York insurance adjuster Joanna (Rosanna Arquette at her most delightfully flustered and endearingly sexy best) melts after falling into his innocent baby blues, and she follows him to Italy, where he's continuing a lifelong competition with boyhood rival Enzo (Jean Reno in a performance both comic and touching). Besson's first English-language production looks more European than Hollywood, and it suffers from a tin ear for the language. At times it feels more like an IMAX undersea documentary than a drama about free divers, but the lush and lovely images create a fairy tale dimension to Jacques's story, a veritable Little Merman. More dolphin than man, he's so torn between earthly love and aquatic paradise that even his dreams call him to the sea (in a sequence more eloquent than any speech). Besson has expanded the film by 50 minutes for his director's cut, which adds little story but slows the contemplative pace until it practically floats in time, and has restored Eric Serra's synthesizer-heavy score, a slice of 1980s pop that at times borders on disco kitsch. Most importantly, he has restored his original ending, which echoes the fairy tale he tells Joanna earlier in the film and leaves the story floating in the inky blackness of ambiguity. --Sean Axmaker (8) I've been tagged '73 HD Sportster looked pretty good with a fancy paint job. Jean-Marc Barr plays a diver obsessed with the sea who falls in love with an investigator for an insurance firm (Rosanna Arquette) as he prepares for the challenge of his life. Matters are complicated further when his old friend and the current diving champion (Jean Reno) happens on the scene, and both become locked in a duel of sorts to see who can go deeper into the sea and transcend the gulf between man and the mysteries of the deep. Some of the metaphysical ramblings about the divers' abilities becomes a bit far-fetched, but stunning undersea photography combines with exotic locales and with Besson's attempt at a lyrical romance to create a visual feast with an engaging mood to match. --Robert Lane Related topics: mountain bike with disk brakes womens 26 mountain bike bicycle supplies harley race bike bike mini tool suzuki rm80 dirt bike ape hanger bicycle handlebars specialized road bicycles how to replace a bike tire |

Hammondsport Glenn Curtiss From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Grande Semaine d'Aviation in France in 1909 Born May 21, 1878 Hammondsport, New York Died July 23, 1930 (aged 52) Buffalo, New York Occupation Aviator Spouse(s) Lena Pearl Neff ( March 7, 1898 - until his death) Children 2 children Parents Lua Andrews Frank Richmond Curtiss Commemorative plaque. Claim on the plaque is controversial regarding invention of the aileron. TombstoneGlenn Hammond Curtiss (May 21, 1878 – July 23, 1930) was an American aviation pioneer and founder of the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company, now part of Curtiss-Wright Corporation. Birth and early career Curtiss was born in 1878 in Hammondsport, New York to Frank Richmond Curtiss and Lua Andrews. Although he only received a formal education up to Grade 8, his early interest in mechanics and inventions was evident at his first job at the Eastman Dry Plate and Film Company (later Eastman Kodak Company) in Rochester, New York.[1] He invented a stencil machine adopted at the plant and later built a rudimentary camera to study photography.[1] On March 7, 1898, Curtiss married Lena Pearl Neff, daughter of Guy L. Neff, in Hammondsport, NY. Bicycles and motorcycles Curtiss began his career as a Western Union bicycle messenger, a bicycle racer, and bicycle shop owner. In 1901 he developed an interest in motorcycles when internal combustion engines became more available. In 1902 Curtiss began manufacturing motorcycles with his own single cylinder engines. His first motorcycle actually had a tomato can for a carburetor. In 1903 he set a motorcycle land speed record at 64 miles per hour (103 km/h) for one mile (1.6 km). When E.H. Corson of the Indian Motorcycle Company visited Hammondsport in July 1904, he was amazed that the entire Curtiss motorcycle enterprise was sited in the back room of the modest "shop". Corson's motorcycles had just been trounced the week before by "Hell Rider" Curtiss in an endurance race from New York to Cambridge, Maryland. [2] In 1907, Curtiss set a world record of 136.36 miles per hour (219.45 km/h), on a 40 horsepower (30 kW) V8 powered motorcycle of his own design and construction. He would remain "the fastest man in the world," to use the title the newspapers gave him, until 1911.[3] By this time, Curtiss' success at racing had solidified his reputation as a leading maker of high-performance motorcycles.[4] Aviation pioneer Curtiss, the engine man Glenn H. Curtiss's pilot licenseIn 1904, Curtiss became a supplier of engines for California "aeronaut", Tom Baldwin. In that same year, Baldwin's California Arrow, powered by a Curtiss 9 HP V-twin motorcycle engine, became the first successful dirigible in America.[5] In 1907, Curtiss was approached by Alexander Graham Bell to provide a suitable engine for heavier-than-air flight experimentation. Bell regarded Curtiss as "the greatest motor expert in the country"[6] and invited Curtiss to join his Aerial Experiment Association (AEA). Over the next two years the AEA produced four aircraft, each one an improvement over the last. Aeronautics Curtiss primarily designed the AEA's third aircraft, Aerodrome #3, the famous June Bug and became its test pilot, undertaking most of the proving flights. On July 4, 1908, he flew 5,080 feet, to win the Scientific American Trophy and its $2,500 purse.[7] This was considered to be the first pre-announced public flight of a heavier-than-air flying machine in America. For this flight and for other achievements that were to follow, Curtiss received U.S. Pilot's license #1 from the Aero Club of America. The flight of the June Bug propelled Glenn Curtiss and aviation firmly into public awareness. At the culmination of the Aerial Experiment Association's experiments, Curtiss offered to purchase the rights to Aerodrome #3, essentially using it as the basis of his "Curtiss No.1", the first of his production series of pusher aircraft. [8] Aviation competitions In August 1909, Curtiss competed in the world's first air meet, the Grande Semaine d'Aviation flying contest at Rheims, France, organized by the Aero-Club de France. The Wrights, who were selling their machines to customers in Germany at the time, elected to not personally compete. There were two Wright aircraft at the meet but they did not win any events. Curtiss went on to win the overall speed event, flying a 10 km course at 46.5 miles per hour (74.8 km/h) in just under 16 minutes, six seconds faster than runner-up Louis Bleriot and winning the Gordon Bennett Cup. For this he was awarded French pilot's license No. 2 (Bleriot, who flew the English Channel in 1909, had been awarded license No. 1). The pre-war years During the 1909-1910 period, Curtiss employed a number of demonstration pilots including Eugene Ely, Charles Hamilton and Lincoln Beachey. Purchase the Burley d'Lite trailer at a flea market for $20 - all of the nylon was ripped and rotten and falling off the frame - just perfect for my needs. Took it home - removed all nylon and textile products from frame. Remove two angled upright aluminum tubes and bent them (by hand and foot method) to be somewhat symmetrical to serve at side rails. My vision was to have this kiddie hauling trailer transform into a cargo trailer like the Burley Flatbed trailer. I used two simple rules on the rebuild of this trailer: 1. Don't replace any hardware unless you have to. 2. Don't drill any more hole int the aluminum frame unless I have to. Spent about $10 on stainless bolts and nuts with nylon inserts at Home Depot. Spent about $5 on the plywood floor. Friend gave me new hitch - the original one was old, rusty and broken. Total cost for me to buy and own this trailer was about $40!!!!! I'm very happy with the results. Very close to the Burley Flatbed trailer in looks and functionality. burley trailer 1 Turning an older Burley kiddie hauler trailer into a cargo trailer. Crazy Mountains: Learning from Wilderness to Weigh Technology (S U N Y Series in Environmental Public Policy) Reality is slipping away, writes David Strong in Crazy Mountains, and is being eroded by a glut of technological devices and commodities. But all is not lost if we learn to care for the things at the center of the good life. Written in the tradition of Walden and A River Runs Through It with philosophical clarity and literary power, this book opens with a vivid account of the Crazy Mountains of Montana, an island of high, craggy peaks, forest, meadows, and rushing streams, surrounded by the sweep of the high plains. A newly-bulldozed road and a planned timber sale jeopardize the wild character of the range and trigger the wide-ranging reflections of this remarkable book. Technology is transforming Earth in increasingly extensive ways, and Strong urges us to awaken from the spell of technology-from the unexamined belief that its devices and commodities make our lives good. He warns that even an environmental ethic can be subverted by the glamorous pull of the consumer culture. From wilderness we learn what things are real and how this reality can re-order our lives, our communities, and our nation. We learn another way to be. This is a one-of-a-kind book. It soars gracefully, yet presents a comprehensive vision of the challenge wilderness offers to our contemporary culture. (7) A Tandem Mountain Bike! Crazy! The complications, joys and heartbreak they experience provide a testament to the endurance and power of love. Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal deliver emotionally charged, remarkably moving performances in "a movie that is destined to become one of the great classics of our time" (Clay Smith, The Insider). Starring: Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Williams, Anne Hathaway, Linda Cardellini, Randy Quaid, Scott Michael Campbell, Anna Faris, David Harbour Directed by: Ang Lee A sad, melancholy ache pervades Brokeback Mountain, Ang Lee's haunting, moving film that, like his other movies, explores societal constraints and the passions that lurk underneath. This time, however, instead of taking on ancient China, 19th-century England, or '70s suburbia, Lee uses the tableau of the American West in the early '60s to show how two lovers are bound by their expected roles, how they rebel against them, and the repercussions for each of doing so--but the romance here is between two men. Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) and Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) are two itinerant ranchers looking for work in Wyoming when they meet and embark on a summer sheepherding job in the shadow of titular Brokeback Mountain. The taciturn Ennis, uncommunicative in the extreme, finds himself opening up around the gregarious Jack, and the two form a bond that surprisingly catches fire one cold night out in the wilderness. Separating at the end of the summer, each goes on to marry and have children, but a reunion years later proves that, if anything, their passion for each other has grown significantly. And while Jack harbors dreams of a life together, the tight-lipped Ennis is unable to bring himself to even consider something so revolutionary. Its open, unforced depiction of love between two men made Brokeback an instant cultural touchstone, for both good and bad, as it was tagged derisively as the "gay cowboy movie," but also heralded as a breakthrough for mainstream cinema. Amidst all the hoopla of various agendas, though, was a quiet, heartbreaking love story that was both of its time and universal--it was the quintessential tale of star-crossed lovers, but grounded in an ever-changing America that promised both hope and despair. Adapted by Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana from Annie Proulx's short story, the movie echoes the sparse bleakness of McMurtry's The Last Picture Show with its fading of the once-glorious West; but with Lee at the helm, it also resembles The Ice Storm, as it showed the ripple effects of a singular event over a number of people. As always, Lee's work with actors is unparalleled, as he elicits graceful, nuanced performances from Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway as the wives affected overtly and subliminally by their husbands' affair, and Gyllenhaal brings surprising dimensions to a character that could have easily just been a puppy dog of a boy. It's Ledger, however, who's the breakthrough in the film, and his portrait of an emotionally repressed man both undone and liberated by his feelings is mesmerizing and devastating. Spare in style but rich with emotion, Brokeback Mountain earns its place as a classic modern love story. --Mark Englehart Related topics: mountain bikes free shipping iron horse bike dealer chariot bike trailer stroller 3 wheel sports bike changing a dirt bike tire electric chopper bikes 24 bicycle tire discount dirt bike helmets lamborghini leggenda bike trek moutain bikes |

29.365.2010 So I went out to get a little exercise to start out my spring break right. Ended up going mountain biking. It was cool except for the part where the floor was still wet and muddy so riding fast and not seeing a puddle either meant you fall or you get sprayed with mudd LOL. It's all good though. I made it around the lake today which was not possible last time after the rain haha. It did take me and Ryan longer than expected 0.o but it doesn't matter because we made it. It must have been maybe 3.5 months that we have rode our bikes so I think 12+ miles is worth it hahaha. On a side note rant.. You would imagine that if a guy continually tries to get you drunk, that he has some intention with you, right? It irks me sometimes that if someone wants to soften you up, they would use a controlling substance. I just hope that you don't fall into that trap and find yourself regretting something and even though you don't regret it, it highly goes against what is ethical -.- Pisses me off sometimes and I'm glad I'm not strapped or else kaboom :p Till next time kids! Take Me To Zion Not many people usually know this about me, but my favorite hobby is to dirt bike. Ive been riding since I was a little kid, and my parents before me. For the last 5 years we have been filming our dirtbiking trips, and have been planning on releasing all the footage in a video. After long antisipation and procrastination, and countless drafts, we've finally began editing on the final video. However we are still going to be filming for it through the rest of the year, so it wont be done till about December 2010. The film will feature almost 5 years of footage, over a range of about 5 different locations, and countless riders including The whole Secor family, Adrian Gregg, Brett Mendoza, Francisco “Coco” Zurita and many other riders going the limits in freeride dirtbiking, atv, bmx, downhill mountain biking and more. We're really excited to be helping in the process and the artwork and cant wait till its released. We'll tell you where you can get your hands on this vid when the release date gets closer. Voyageur Enigma Photos More from Enigma Love Sensuality Devotion: The Greatest Hits MCMXC A.D. The Screen Behind the Mirror Enigma 3: Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi! A Posteriori MCMXC a. D. - The Complete Album DVD Enigma, aka Michael Cretu, turns out more light electronic ambience on Voyageur, mixing in an occasional twist but sticking pretty close to his successful, easily digested formula. Since Enigma’s massively popular debut MDMXC A.D., Cretu has moved toward a more New Age/adult contemporary sound, culminating with 2000’s bland The Screen Behind The Mirror. As with that record, Voyageur’s weakest moments happen when Cretu puts his mediocre vocals front and center on tracks like "Total Eclipse of the Moon." Better are more beat-oriented songs like "Boum-Boum" that concentrate on seedier, sexier material and stay away from Cretu’s sappier instincts. While overall, Voyageur counts as an improvement over Mirror, Enigma still hasn’t found a replacement for the Gregorian chants and whispery techno that made MDMXC A.D. such a groovy sensation. --Matthew Cooke (14) Voyageur Wolber Super Champion mod. 58 rims Polished Wolber "Super Champion" (model 58) rims. Surely these were drilled for Schrader valves to accomodate the US market - as would be the 27 inch (630 mm) rim diameters. When recently cleaning the spokes with Simichrome, I was surprised to find the spokes are actually plated steel rather than stainless steel as noted in the catalogue specifications. This is perfectly logical. In 1985 the Voyageur wheelsets had used plated spokes and the hubs on these wheels are dated December, 1985. So, these were likely the last of the previous years wheels. No problem at all, these original spokes are still as new looking as the rest of the bike. DSCF1677a schwinn voyageur bicycle The Voyageur is the authoritative account of a unique and colorful group of men whose exploits, songs, and customs comprise an enduring legacy. French Canadians who guided and paddled the canoes of explorers and fur traders, the voyageurs were experts at traversing the treacherous rapids and dangerous open waters of the canoe routes from Quebec and Montreal to the regions bordering the Great Lakes and on to the Mackenzie and Columbia Rivers. During the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, explorers and fur traders relied on the voyageurs to open up the vast reaches of North America to settlement and trade. A noted scholar of the fur trade, Grace Lee Nute was a curator at the Minnesota Historical Society, a professor of history at Hamline University, and the author of The Voyageur's Highway. Thule Wants the Rain to End Thule was sad that she couldn't go outside and play, but there was just too much rain. No one likes a giant, wet dog. Especially Brian and Katie who have to sleep with her. On a side note, it was kind of odd that although we had moved three times, we always opted to keep our chairs in the same alignment along the tent. When walking in you would always see Sam near the far corner, then me, then Kelly, then Richie. Brian and Katie would sit against the back wall. As you can also see, there's a huge pile of stuff against the back wall. A rope was tied to the heaviest of items and then tied to the cross-beam in the roof of the cook tent. This was to keep it from blowing away during our big storms. Empty Trunk Rack That empty space is where we non-Brits get the idea of a 'trunk.'
