I was tempted here to crop the empty left side of the picture to make a 5:4 format but I liked the lighter foreground line moving in from the corner, so I left it. I frequently noticed significant vignetting at 17 mm with the 17-40 lens. Here I've corrected it manually but I see that the MkII has a function to correct falloff in peripheral image illumination. This is a small rechargeable unit which contains a GPS receiver which records your coordinates every 10 seconds onto internal memory. At the end of the day, you download all your photos, download the log files from the photo finder, and, using the provided software, the GPS coordinates are added to the metadata so that the images are geotagged. When posted to Flickr, the images are placed with great accuracy onto the map. The unit also comes with a small dock that has slots for SD and CF cards. It is supposed to be able to tag the photos using the dock with it's built in firmware, but we have discovered that it often corrupts the images on the SD cards, and the tagging operation on the CF cards is extremely slow. By using the software, we are tagging images with the computer that can be recovered from the camera cards in case of any problems [such as corrupted files]. We took a train trip today to visit a factory so I will be posting a bunch of images that are not of anything important but are just testing the geo-tagging function of the Photo Finder. Devo poi ridimensionarla via software. La massima risoluzione verticale e 600dpi, ma arriva a 1200 orizzontali. Se scannerizzo a 600dpi la foto risultante e di 5100x5100 pixel, ma se scannerizzo a 1200dpi solo la risoluzione orizzontale e reale, mentre a verticale e sempre 600dpi, ma interpolata. Il rapporto di riduzione anamorfico e di 5:1 quindi in uno scan a 600dpi devo allargare l'immagine X5, ma se invece lavoro a 1200dpi posso permettermi di moltiplicare solo x2,5, dimezzando l'altezza. Quindi 600x1200dpi e la massima risoluzione effettiva, e la densita dei pixel in larghezza e 2,5 volte inferiore che in altezza (53megapixel reali, 133 interpolati). e possibile fare anche degli scan multipli per coprire l'intera area di proiezione, e l'immagine risultante puo superare i 500megapixel.
