Giving up the Ghost
WEEK 2 - Something to Represent my Week
This is a wheel. A once shiny and perfectly smooth chrome wheel to an old, beat up stool from the 1960's. (i think '60s, perhaps 70's)
You can see said stool in the reflection....it used to belong to my grandmother and I can remember watching her sit at the kitchen counter directing various festivities from this very seat. She had it for eons.
About 15 years ago she asked me if I wanted it. Sure! I had the perfect spot for it at the shop.
We've been using it now for all these years and lately, kept shoving this wheel back in place every time it fell out....until one morning....it appears to have finally given up the ghost. It didn't just fall out.....it BROKE OFF.
I thought about fixing it but decided against it because then it would need other things as well such as upholstery and seat padding....(I would think my ass would work for that but alas, not!)
It has served our family well.
But I now must bid farewell.
