Canon EOS 6D Review

Canon EOS 6D Review

Less than a week after arch-rival Nikon grabbed headlines with the D600, Canon responded with an announcement of its own price-conscious full frame DSLR, the EOS 6D. And just like that, a new market segment was born: the mid-range full frame DSLR. Canon camera battery was only a decade ago that full frame DSLR performance was limited to those with pockets deep enough to spend $7999 on the 11MP Canon EOS 1Ds. And while the barrier to entry has dropped considerably since then, for many potential buyers, the most-talked about feature of the EOS 6D may well be its price. It debuts at $1400 less than the company's standout EOS 5D Mark III.

And as is Canon's wont, they have opted for the allure of familiarity and Canon camera battery. The EOS 6D is perhaps best understood as a full frame version of the popular EOS 60D - indeed it's very similar in both control layout and dimensions. While slimmer front-to-back, and lighter than the Nikon D600, the 6D primarily seeks to distinguish itself on the spec sheet with built-in Wi-Fi and GPS, a 'silent' shutter mechanism and, according to Canon, unprecedented low-light focusing sensitivity. Whether this combination will be enough to satisfy enthusiasts who'd appreciate the D600's distinctly higher spec'ed autofocus system, dual card slots and built-in flash remains to be seen.

Canon EOS 6D key specifications

  • 20.2MP full frame CMOS sensor

  • DIGIC 5+ image processor

  • ISO 100-25600 standard, 50-102800 expanded

  • 4.5 fps continuous shooting

  • 'Silent' shutter mode

  • 1080p30 video recording, stereo sound via external mic

  • 11 point AF system, center point cross-type and sensitive to -3 EV

  • 63 zone iFCL metering system

  • 97% viewfinder coverage; interchangeable screens (including Eg-D grid and Eg-S fine-focus)

  • 1040k dot 3:2 3" ClearView LCD (fixed)

  • Single SD card slot

  • Built-in Wi-Fi and GPS

  • Single-axis electronic level

Canon camera battery has Good Battery Life, Quiet, Nice Features/Settings,Quick Start-Up Time, Excellent Image Quality, Superior Build Quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation,Lightweight/Portable, Simple Controls/Menu, Easy To Use

I got the camera when it first came out. I'm coming from the 60d to now the 6d full frame camera and I have to say I love it. I have shot 2 weddings and also shot some music videos with it. I have to say shooting in low light is a dream with the camera. I still use my 60d as a back up but i dont use it much.

My results with the fast-moving horses were better. Testing AF is very subjective and an infinite number of AF circumstances are available. But fast-moving horses are a relatively common subject for me - and photographing them gives me a good subjective test of a camera and lens' AF capabilities.

The 6D did a good job tracking these animals with the center AF point working quite well. The peripheral AF points did not perform as well. Canon camera battery is also very good to use, but their results were not bad - I'm not disappointed.

While the 6D's AF system is capable of focusing in incredibly dark environments (you wedding photographers know exactly what this means), it does not have the overall performance of the 1D X/5D III's best-available-at-review-time 61pt AF system.

Toshiba Satellite C855 review

Toshiba Satellite C855-S5239 Laptop

"For the most part I am happy with this computer. I play Pogo alot and it uses Java for the games. This computer reported alot of Java errors, so I updated Java. When I did that the games would not display right. (Too big for the game window.) So I restored the computer back to day one and it still does the Java errors. So I just don't know what to think. Maybe I'm just not understanding something. Love the computer anyway."

With the Satellite® C855 you‘ll get our attractive Trax Texture finish in Black Satin. And it does more than just look great; its raised-texture pattern is less prone to ugly fingerprint marks, too. Why feel cramped when typing or crunching numbers? With the Toshiba laptop battery, you don‘t have to thanks to the full-size keyboard and 10-key numeric pad. It offers a huge hard drive, strong graphics capabilities, plus an Intel® processor to help you power through budgeting and school assignments, catch up on work and take advantage of today‘s popular apps to do all the things you want.

  • Intel® Pentium® B980 2.4GHz 2MB L3 Cache Processor

  • 6GB DDR3 1333MHz Memory, Expandable to 8GB

  • 640GB 5400RPM Serial ATA Hard Disk

  • 15.6” diagonal HD widescreen TruBrite® TFT LED-backlit display (1366 x 768)

  • Windows 8

This Toshiba C855-S5350 15.6" laptop is a great fit when you want the basics from your computer. Toshiba laptop battery comes preinstalled with Windows 8, so you can take advantage of Microsoft's latest operating system. With a 15.6-inch screen, this laptop lets you watch your favorite movies in dazzling HD or play an online game with your friends.

The programs run fine, and the computer is fairly fast. But I returned the laptop because it was poorly put together. Within one week of purchase, the touchpad stopped working. Even the technical support team at Staples couldn't repair the problem. (Pushing the function keys did nothing). So I exchanged the Toshiba laptop battery for the same model, thinking I had a defective computer. Four days later, the keypad on the new laptop was warped and the keys loose. In addition, the mouse would occasionally freeze. I researched reviews for this laptop on other websites, and several other customers had the same complaint about the mouse and the poor quality of the assemblage. Again, the programming works great accept for the pointer device. It's the assemblage that's poor. I recommend investing in a different brand.

Keyboard and Trackpad

The Toshiba Satellite C855 is a solid-if-unimaginative Toshiba laptop battery in most respects. Reinforced in the right parts and with a grease-resistant design, it's fairly easy to live with. However, the keyboard is disappointing.

The trackpad is much less problematic. Both the pad and the keys use a high-friction embossed texture that's fairly comfortable to run a finger across, and the two mouse buttons are completely separate, and large. There's a bit of see-saw action to the buttons, but we didn't find it an irritation. They keypad is to the left a little on the handrest to help you avoid brushing past it accidentally, another sign that practicality has been valued over aesthetics.

Products that are ENERGY STAR-qualified prevent greenhouse gas emissions by meeting strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. The ENERGY STAR name and Toshiba laptop battery are registered marks owned by the U.S. government, as part of their energy efficiency and environmental activities.

HP Compaq Review

HP Compaq Review

1

The 14.1" HP Compaq laptop battery is one of the latest professional line portable business notebooks currently being offered by HP.  The 6910p is much like the smaller 12.1" screen HP 2510p we recently reviewed in terms of looks, but of course this larger notebook packs more power. The 6910p starts at a reasonable price of $1,199 with a basic configuration that includes the Intel Core 2 Duo (Santa Rosa) processor.

The 6910p is squarely in the business notebook category, this means there is no sacrifice made when it comes to security and communications features you'd want to have as a business person. Our review model has integrated Verizon EV-DO and you can get 802.11n for faster wireless. There's a fingerprint reader for biometric security and it offers a TPM integrated security chip. The 6910p, being a business notebook, is designed so that it can share a common image with other HP Compaq laptop battery if an IT department is standardizing on this brand. Furthermore, it offers Intel Centrino Pro so IT managers can remotely do such things as security updates to users machines.

The overall build quality of the HP Compaq laptop battery is very good. A latch is used to hold the screen down when stowed, I really like the rubber gripped latch opener because it's easy to feel and find without looking down at the notebook and easy to operate. There's no fiddling to open the screen. The screen has rubber stoppers around it to prevent the screen from slamming into the keyboard when you close it.

The good: Sturdy construction; strong components for the price; choice of glossy or antiglare display; integrated EV-DO or HSDPA wireless; Trusted Platform Module and smart-card slot; great-sounding speakers.

The bad: Average performance; somewhat heavy travel weight thanks to AC adapter; lacks an ExpressCard slot.

The bottom line: Small businesses on tight budgets take note: The HP Compaq laptop battery laptop offers enterprise-level features and decent performance at a price that's lower than the competition.

Like most business laptops, the HP Compaq 6910p comes with a three-year warranty that includes toll-free, 24-7 phone support and return-to-depot service. An upgrade to three years of onsite service costs $129. The company rounds out its service and support with a solid online help site that integrates a user forum and real-time chat with a tech-support representative.

Review:Acer laptop Aspire S7

Review:Acer laptop Aspire S7

As we all know,Acer is a great company of notebook.

Products crosses my desk regularly. Some are great, some not, and most are in between. It is an advantage, no doubt, but review products often not work for me. From case to case, often the products I'm target different market segments than mine. It is not the case for Acer laptop battery.

The tangible classy ultrabook goes straight into the road-warrior, power-hungry, super-user. S7 is an expensive machine. The starting price is close to $ 1,400, but our Core i7 watches specifications set at $ 1650. Price For customers not see a spec sheet superlative and well-crafted body. I know what you're thinking. S7 better be great for that kind of money. Do not worry, with some qualifiers, Aspire S7 is easily among the top 8 teams in Windows. Is it enough to justify the cost?

Available in white Gorilla ® Glass 2 or aluminum elegant, Aspire Ultrabook ™ S7 series is beautiful and smart. Its touch screen Full HD invites you to be social, get things done and have fun. Auto Brightness illuminates.1 perfect keyboard for comfortable use in dark locations while cooling TwinAir Acer laptop battery makes this a pleasure to hold.

The thin, Acer laptop battery first sensation was one of the first Windows 8 laptops I've spent a considerable amount of time in the weeks before the official release of Windows 8 My colleagues and I agreed at the time that this portable 13-inch touch screen was an excellent advertisement for the new Microsoft operating system, but our demonstration unit preproduction hardware, and are not ready to test reference. Now with a version prepared for human consumption in the same machine in hand, we report the performance and results of the test battery life and gives this excellent laptop a number of rooms.

In practical use, it felt Acer laptop battery is identical to the pre-production sample of October 2012. Like many laptops and portable hybrid / convertible tablet we've reviewed recently, the Aspire S7 a new ultrabook-the-ground-up, rather than a product of the existing Windows 7 updated with new software. S7 is also one of the thinnest and most polished appearance ultrabooks I've seen, highlighted by a white minimalist chassis and a lid covered with Gorilla Glass (like the HP Envy Spectre). Inside is an Intel Core i7 CPU and is something that has become common in laptops Windows 8: a touch screen, built on a 13.3-inch 1,920 x1 0.080-pixel screen.

Review:Toshiba laptop libretto

Review:Toshiba laptop libretto

The Libretto is a line of subnotebook computers designed and produced by Toshiba laptop battery

. The line was distinguished by its combination of functionality and small size, squeezing a full Windows PC into a device the size of a Paperback book. The first Libretto model, the Libretto 20, was released on April 17, 1996 (in Japan only), with a volume of 821 cmł and weighing just 840 g, making it by far, the worlds smallest commercially available Windows PC at the time, and a trend the Libretto Range continued for many years. The original Libretto line was discontinued in Europe and the U.S. in 1999, but the production continued in Japan with the SS, FF and then the L series until 2002. The first L series Libretto (The L1) was released on the 18th May 2001 (in Japan only) and the last (The L5) just 11 Months later on the 24th April 2002. Production of all Librettos ceased from 2002 until the release of the Libretto U100 in 2005.

There have been many different models. The first Libretto models, the L20 & L30 used 486 processors from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and were only available in Japan (Although the L30 was also assembled and Marketed in South Korea under the Comos Brand name). Beginning with the Libretto 50, Toshiba laptop battery

used the Intel Pentium and later Pentium MMX processors. With the introduction of the L series in 2001, a move was made to the Transmeta Crusoe processor. The U100 of 2005 saw a return to Intel with the use of the Pentium M processor.

I first saw a Toshiba laptop battery

Libretto 20 in August of 1996, and knew I had to have one to replace my aging Toshiba laptop battery

T4600 laptop. At that time Toshbia did not offer the Libretto in the US market. In the spring of 1997, T-Zone opened a store in Sunnyvale, and offered the Japanese Libretto 50 for sale.

Barely larger than a VHS tape, and weighing less than 2 pounds, the Libretto 50 has:

Pentium 75

16M of EDO DRAM (expandable to 32M)

810M hard disk

6.1 inch active matrix color LCD (640x480, up to 16 million colors)

SoundBlaster Pro compatible 16 bit stereo sound (output only)

one PCMCIA slot

Toshiba laptop battery

Corporation today announced the introduction of the world's first mini-notebook personal computer to combine super-small dimensions and light weight with the power and capabilities of a fully-featured design running Windows 95 and its application software. The new notebook PC, Libretto 20, is available from today, in the Japanese market only.

Libretto 20, is only 210mm x 115mm x 34mm and weighs in as a super- featherweight at approximately 840g, yet it incorporates a 65,536 color 6.1-inch TFT color LCD, an 88-key keyboard, a newly designed pointing device, a high-capacity lithium-ion secondary battery and super-thin hard disk drive. Microsoft Windows 95 is pre-installed, giving users access to the vast MS-DOS and Windows libraries of application software. Key business application software, including Microsoft Works for Windows 95 and Lotus Organizer R2.1J, is also pre-installed.

1. The Libretto 20 was about one-third the size of an A4 page (210 x 115 x 34 mm) and weighed about 840 grams thanks to the inclusion of high-performance LSI chips and an ultra-slim hard drive. This made the Libretto 20 the world’s smallest and lightest computer running Microsoft Windows 95.

2. The Toshiba laptop battery offered the same operating environment as a standard notebook with a new pointing device (the Aqu Point stick) and an 88-key keyboard (with a 13 mm key pitch) that was functionally compatible with the OADG DOS/V 106-key keyboard, the standard on DOS/V computers.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev charged with using ‘weapon of mass destruction’

Federal prosecutors charged the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings with terrorism on Monday, outlining a chilling plot in which the man and his brother allegedly used low-grade but deadly explosives timed to detonate a block apart.

As he lay seriously injured in a Boston area hospital, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, was charged with using a weapon of mass destruction and malicious destruction of property, counts that could bring him the death penalty. He made his first court appearance in an unusual, non-public proceeding in which a federal judge and several lawyers went to his hospital bed.

The toll from the bombings, according to court documents and interviews on Monday, could have been far higher. Tsarnaev and his brother, Tamerlan, 26, who was killed Friday after a firefight with police, had a homemade arsenal of explosives. Some law enforcement officials said they think the brothers were planning more attacks.

The pair also apparently had no escape plan. The FBI found in Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s college dorm room what appeared to be the same black jacket and white hat he wore on the day of the attack, court documents said.

As the legal machinery began moving, the rituals of recovery continued in Boston. Near the marathon finish line, where three people were killed and more than 200 injured, residents and office workers poured out of buildings on Monday for a moment of silence at the same time the bombings occurred one week ago.

When the clock reached 2:50 p.m., hundreds of people — standing on sidewalks, street corners and building steps — froze in place. Even some cars stopped moving, ignoring green lights until cabs honked for them to move. Some people wiped away tears; others hugged.

Within five minutes, the buzz of life again hit the streets. Yet earlier in the day, the atmosphere was equally solemn in a quiet Boston suburb as people came together to mourn Krystle Campbell, a 29-year-old restaurant manager, in the first funeral for a bombing victim. Firefighters, members of the Guardian Angels and motorcyclists joined Campbell’s high school classmates and others, the mourners dressed mostly in black and standing quietly in a cold wind.

The criminal complaint against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, filed in U.S. District Court in Boston, ended a debate over how one of the first successful terrorist attacks on the U.S. homeland since Sept. 11, 2001, should be handled. Some congressional Republicans had insisted that Tsarnaev be designated an “enemy combatant,’’ which would enable the government to charge him under the laws of war in a military commission or to hold him indefinitely.

How to Stay Sharp While Traveling for Business

If you’re constantly on the go, you know just how tiring and stressful business travel can be. If you aren’t careful, you can find yourself burned out while on the road. Needless to say, that’s not good for you or your business.

So, what can you do to make sure you stay sharp while constantly traveling for business? Here are some tips that will keep your mind sharp and your body refreshed while you’re on the road.

Eat right—When you’re constantly running, it’s easy to fall into the habit of grabbing some fast food or munching on some snacks. While this might satisfy your hunger, it won’t give you the energy you need to keep performing at a high level. In fact, it does the complete opposite.

That’s why it’s so important to eat right when you’re traveling. Make sure you enjoy plenty of fruits and vegetables as these are great brain foods that keep your mind sharp. You should also limit the sodas you drink, and make sure to drink plenty of water, as a hydrated body is more energetic.

Give yourself time to rest off the plane—A lot of travelers make the mistake of just trying to catch a little bit of sleep during the flight. A quick nap on the plane won’t recharge your body like a good night’s sleep in an actual bed will. Make sure you get a good night’s sleep at home (or in your hotel) before you get on your flight. This way, you can devote the time on the flight to other tasks, and you won’t get off the plane looking like you just rolled out of bed.

Get rid of the clutter—If you travel a lot, it can be easy for your briefcase to start filling up with a bunch of papers, folders, CDs, and other junk. Physical clutter leads to a cluttered mind. It causes you to be disorganized and stressed out. So, before you travel, take the time to clean out your briefcase, getting rid of anything you won’t need for your trip.
Replace papers with digital documents—This goes hand-in-hand with the last tip. Reduce your clutter by replacing papers with digital documents whenever possible. You can store a lot of information on a tiny USB drive, saving you space and helping you stay more organized.

Read a book—Reading stimulates the mind. It’s like a mental workout. It also allows you to kind of get away from the real world for a little while, taking your mind off the things that are stressing you out. Spending a little time during your flight reading a book can strengthen your mind and make the flight go by a little faster.
Engage in a conversation—Brain fitness experts also say that interacting with others stimulates the brain and keeps it sharp. So, while you’re on your flight, you might try striking up a conversation with one of your neighbors. This will keep your mind sharp, and you could even make a new friend or a business contact.

Just Give Me A Reason

Right from the start, you were a thief,
You stole my heart and
I your willing victim
I let you see the parts of me
That weren't all that pretty.
And with every touch
You fixed them.
Now, you've been talking in your sleep
Oh oh, things you never say to ME
Oh oh, tell me that you've had enough
Of out Love, our Love.

Just give me a reason,
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second, we're not broken
Just bent we can learn to LOVE again.
Oh, it's in the stars,
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
We're NOT broken
Just bent and we can learn to love again.

I'm sorry I don't understand where
All of these is coming from.
I thought that we were fine,
(Oh, we had everything)
Your head is running wild again
My dear, WE still have everything
And it's all in your MIND.
(Yeah, but this is happenin')
You've been having real bad dreams
Oh oh, used to lie so close to me
Oh oh, there's nothing more than empty sheets
Between our love, our love
Ooooh, our love, our love.

Just give me a reason,
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second, we're not broken
Just bent we can learn to LOVE again.
Oh, I never stopped
It's still written in the scars on my heart
You're NOT broken
Just bent and we can learn to love again.

Oh, tear ducts and rust
I'll fix it for us
We're collecting dust,
But our love's enough.
You're holding it in,
You're pouring a drink
No, nothing is as bad as it seems.
We'll come clean!

Just give me a reason,
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second, we're not broken
Just bent and we can learn to LOVE again.
Oh, it's in the stars
It's still written in the scars on our hearts
We're NOT broken
Just bent and we can learn to love again.

Just give me a reason,
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second, we're not broken
Just bent and we can learn to LOVE again.
Oh, it's in the stars
It's still written in the scars on our hearts
We're NOT broken
Just bent and we can learn to love again.

Ooh, we can learn to love again
Ooh, we can learn to love again
Oh, that we're not broken
Just bent and we can learn to love again

Margaret Thatcher funeral: thousands line streets to witness final journey

Lady Thatcher, Britain's first female prime minister, was borne to St Paul's Cathedral for a ceremonial funeral as thousands lined central London's streets to witness her final journey.

With full military honours, the coffin bearing the body of one of Britain's most divisive politicians of modern times was escorted by members of all three armed forces to a service before a congregation of 2,300 from across the globe and led by the Queen.

Although not officially a state funeral, as accorded to Sir Winston Churchill, the event was conducted with a level of pomp and ceremony not witnessed in London since the death of the Queen Mother in 2002.

Her children, Sir Mark Thatcher and his twin sister Carol, and her American grandchildren, Michael and Amanda, listened as the bishop of London, acknowledging the bitter debate over her legacy, said this was not the time or place for such matters.

In a powerful address, the Right Rev Richard Chartres, a friend of Thatcher, who died last week aged 87 following a stroke, defended her and firmly rejected the assertion that she did not believe in society. She had overcome hurdles and experienced many rebuffs, and applied herself to work with "formidable energy and passion", he said.

"Her later remark about there being no such thing as 'society' has been misunderstood and refers to some impersonal entity to which we are tempted to surrender our independence," he said.

Acknowledging her as a polarising figure, he told the congregation: "After the storm of a life led in the heat of political controversy, there is a great calm.

"The storm of conflicting opinions centres on the Mrs Thatcher who became a symbolic figure – even an 'ism'."

"Today the remains of the real Margaret Hilda Thatcher are here at her funeral service. Lying here, she is one of us, subject to the common destiny of all human beings." He continued: "There is an important place for debating policies and legacy; for assessing the impact of political decisions on the everyday lives of individuals and communities. Parliament held a frank debate last week – but here and today is neither the time nor the place."

Here, at the funeral service, devoid of eulogies at Thatcher's own request, was a place "for the simple truths which transcend political debate. Above all it is a place for hope."

Earlier, the longest-serving prime minister of the 20th century had left parliament for the last time as a hearse took her body from the crypt chapel of St Mary Undercroft in the Palace of Westminster, where it rested last night, to the RAF church of St Clement Danes in the Strand.

There was gentle clapping as the cortege, with police motorcycle escort, drove slowly through cordoned-off streets. Big Ben fell silent. The cortege made its way went past the gates of Downing Street, her home for the 11 tumultuous years she held power and which she said goodbye to almost a quarter of a century ago, past Trafalgar Square, scene of the bitter poll tax demonstrations, and into the Strand. Union flags and the national flags of the UK were lowered to half mast.

The crowds were deep, and for the most part supportive. But there was booing, too. At Ludgate Circus, where several hundred protesters turned their backs on the coffin, there was a highly charged atmosphere with chanting of "what a waste of money" and "Tory scum", as heated exchanges broke out between demonstrators and Thatcher supporters.

The prime minister, David Cameron, had said the funeral was a "fitting tribute" to a major national figure, and urged the Iron Lady's political opponents to show respect during the event.

At St Clement Danes, prayers were said as the coffin – draped in a union flag with a simple wreath of white flowers with the handwritten tribute: "Beloved mother. Always in our hearts" – was transferred to a gun carriage of the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, its steel wheels changed to rubber to muffle the noise.

The carriage and procession made its measured way at 70 steps per minute, military drum beats keeping precise pace, and the band of HM Royal Marines playing funeral marches by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Chopin.

The route was lined by members of all three services in full ceremonial day dress, officers wearing black armbands, with colours draped and rifle muzzles pointed downwards as a mark of respect. Her escort reunited her with units linked to the Falklands war, a victory she believed among her greatest accomplishments.

A gun salute fired at one-minute intervals from the Tower of London, as a single half-muffled bell at St Paul's tolled.

The eight pall-bearers who carried the casket into the cathedral were drawn from army units, Royal Navy ships and RAF stations with links to the Falklands war, commanded by Major Nick Mott of the Welsh Guards who served in the 1982 conflict.

Thatcher's grandchildren, Michael and Amanda, walked ahead of the coffin as it entered the cathedral, carrying cushions bearing the insignia of the Order of the Garter and Order of Merit, which were laid on the altar.

The national anthem heralded the arrival of the Queen at St Paul's at 10.45am, her presence elevating Thatcher's ceremonial funeral to that of state funeral in all but name. It was the first time she has attended the funeral of one of her prime ministers since Sir Winston Churchill's state funeral in 1965.

She was welcomed by the lord mayor of the City of London, Roger Gifford, the archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and Chartres.

Giving the bidding, the dean of St Paul's said the congregation was gathered to remember Margaret Hilda Thatcher, and commend her into God's hands.

"We recall with great gratitude her leadership of this nation, her courage, her steadfastness, and her resolve to accomplish what she believed to be right for the common good."

The service, planned many years ago in consultation with Thatcher, and with her relatives since, was traditional and simple.

Thatcher chose the hymns He Who Would Valiant Be, the Charles Wesley hymn Love Divine, All Loves Excelling, reflecting the influence of her Methodist upbringing, and the patriotic verse I Vow to Thee My Country.

The organ played Psalm 84, set to the music of Johannes Brahms, which is the same piece Thatcher chose to be played at the funeral of her husband, Sir Denis Thatcher, in 2003. Thatcher's American granddaughter, Amanda, 19, read from the King James Bible, Ephesians 6, 10-18, while Cameron gave the second reading, John 14, 1-6.

Inside, politicians past and present, friends and erstwhile political foes joined together.

Three former prime ministers – John Major, Thatcher's Tory successor, and the Labour leaders Tony Blair and Gordon Brown – took their seats beneath the 111-metre dome.

A wide section of society was reflected in the guest list, including the broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan, the Welsh classical singer Katherine Jenkins and the Duchess of York, former wife of the Queen's second son.

Dignitaries were drawn from 170 countries, including 11 serving prime ministers and 17 serving foreign ministers. Sir Geoffrey Howe, Thatcher's ex-chancellor who many believe played a significant role in her eventual political downfall, was in attendance, as well as the current chancellor, George Osborne, the Tory grandee Ken Clarke, the London mayor, Boris Johnson, the Labour leader, Ed Miliband, and the deputy prime minister, Nick Clegg.

Johnson said outside: "Even for her fans and supporters like me, I don't think we expected to see quite so many people turn up to show their affection and their respect for Margaret Thatcher. It is a quite astonishing crowd."

The Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude, who has led government preparations for the event, insisted the cost would be "much, much less" than the reported figure of Ł10m, but no official estimate has yet been released.

After the funeral up to 1,600 family members, friends and dignitaries were attending a reception at the City of London's Guildhall.

Thatcher's closest family and cabinet members were expected to arrive after a separate reception for foreign dignitaries at nearby Mansion House.

At the conclusion of the service, the coffin was borne out of the cathedral and returned to a hearse that will take it to the Royal Hospital Chelsea before a private cremation at Mortlake Crematorium in south-west London.
