Foxboro, MA (Sports Network) - Rookie Stevan Ridley ran for a pair of touchdowns and caught a Ryan Mallett pass for another score, and the New England Patriots began the preseason with a 47-12 triumph over the new-look Jacksonville Jaguars. Five months after a lockout began, it was back to game action, Official Ben Roethlisberger Jersey but not for Tom Brady. The Patriots starting quarterback dressed for the game, but instead yielded to Brian Hoyer. The second-string QB completed 15-of-21 passes for 171 yards, including an 11-yard score to Taylor Price in the second quarter. He led the Jags to three first-half scoring drives, all resulting in field goals.

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Michael Vick capped his only drive with a touchdown pass to Brent Celek, and the Philadelphia Eagles kept the Baltimore Ravens out of the end zone en route to a 13-6 victory in the preseason opener for both teams. Vick connected Official Maurkice Pouncey Jersey on 4-of-6 passes for 74 yards in limited action for the Eagles, who lost to the Packers in the NFC Wild Card round last year but added several big-name free agents in a lockout-affected offseason. Joe Flacco played two series for the Ravens and finished with 60 yards on 3- of-6 throws, while rookie Tyrod Taylor was intercepted twice and threw incomplete on 4th-and-goal in the final minute.

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Thomas Clayton's 25-yard touchdown run with just over three minutes left in the fourth quarter capped a comeback and sent Seattle past San Diego, 24-17, in the preseason opener for both clubs at Qualcomm Stadium. Charlie Whitehurst saw the majority of the snaps, going 14- of-20 for 115 yards for the Seahawks, who finished 7-9 a year ago and became the first team in NFL history to win their division with a losing record. Tarvaris Jackson, pegged as the successor to the departed Matt Hasselbeck, completed three of five attempts for 13 yards but was sacked twice. Leon Washington added a rushing score. while Anthony McCoy hauled in a six- yard TD pass in the final stanza. Philip Rivers took a seat after connecting on 5-of-6 passes for 87 yards and a first-quarter touchdown to Mike Tolbert for the Chargers, who went 9-7 a year ago but finished out of postseason contention.

Arlington, TX Official Mewelde Moore Jersey (Sports Network) - Stephen McGee led a 65-yard drive on the final Dallas possession, throwing a 13-yard touchdown pass to Dwayne Harris with 15 seconds remaining and adding a two-point Official Mike Wallace Jersey conversion to lift the Cowboys over the Denver Broncos, 24-23, in their preseason opener. McGee was 14-of-24 for 208 yards and three touchdowns, seeing most of the snaps behind Tony Romo and Jon Kitna, who were a combined 6-for-9 for 56 yards. Harris finished with five catches for 127 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns, including one for 76 yards. Kyle Orton played one series before giving way to Tim Tebow, completing just two of his six passes for 37 yards. Tebow, the center of a growing quarterback controversy after the Broncos failed to trade him, went 6-of-7 for 91 yards, including a 43-yard pass that helped set up a field goal in the second quarter. Brady Quinn played the second half and went 8-for-14 for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Oakland, CA Official Lawrence Timmons Jersey (Sports Network) - Kevin Kolb played just two series for the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night, unofficially beginning a new era for a team in desperate need for stable No. 1 quarterback but only willing to dip its toes in the water for a preseason opener. Official Troy Polamalu Jersey Kolb completed four of his seven passes for 68 yards against the Oakland Raiders, including a 43-yarder to Larry Fitzgerald, the franchise cornerstone wideout who lobbied to get the former Eagles quarterback in a Cardinals uniform. After the first quarter, Kolb handed the ball over to the backups and Arizona eventually won the game, 24-18, on Isaiah Williams' 28-yard touchdown catch in the final minute. Starting Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell also played just two series, completing 6-of-9 passes for 66 yards. Kyle Boller was 7-of-8 for 42 yards and new addition Trent Edwards saw the bulk of the snaps, passing for 140 yards and a Official Rashard Mendenhall Jersey touchdown on 10-of-19 passing.
