SF Pro-Am basketball: Former Drake standout dodges punch from NBA veteran Barnes

Dillon Sabia hadn't been a fan of NBA swingman Matt Barnes since he left Ron Artest Grey Jersey the Warriors following the 2007-08 season.

According to Sabia, tensions escalated when Sabia switched to cover Barnes after a screen. He prevented the former Warrior from getting to the basket. Barnes was forced to kick a pass outside, a shot followed and the two fought for positioning on a rebound.
"I guess he didn't like how I boxed him out. He tried to wrap his arms around my neck and throw me on the ground, then I turned around and ran at him and we started talking smack to each other," Sabia said. "He pushed Lakers Ron Artest Authentic Jersey me, I pushed him in the chest and then he took a swing at my head. I turned my head, he barely clipped my ear.

need for him to be, like, all pissing and moaning and being immature about a situation."
League director Jon Greenberg told the San Francisco Chronicle that both players were given one-game suspensions for unsportsmanlike conduct. Sabia's team lost the semifinal game to end their season. Barnes was to miss Tuesday night's Game 2 of the championship series.
The 6-foot-7, 235-pound Barnes, who played for the Los Angeles Lakers? last season, said in a report on ESPN.com that "(Sabia) elbowed me and pushed me, so he Lakers Ron Artest Swingman Jersey got one. Said Sabia: "I think he's a little hot head, I guess he thinks people were trying to push him around out there and we were just playing basketball. He just thinks because he's an NBA player that no one's going to play hard against him."
According to Sabia, Barnes kept throwing punches and accidentally hit one of the referees after Sabia had been escorted back to his bench by his coach.
"I just think his ego's a little too big just 'cause he's in the NBA, all the guys there could play with him," Sabia said. "No one was really too much of a fan of his there after the fight. He was getting a bunch of boos. I don't really like L.A."
