This spoon-carved Victorian farm oak china cabinet came out super in Farm-Red, non-distressed, original patina brass bin pulls, which tie in nicely with the old brass fireplace bucket used as a magazine stand alongside. Juxtaposition with small detailed prints of the period on pale colored walls keeps the area spacious even though the room is small and the piece large. A leg of an original finish oak library table can be seen in the bottom right corner, mixing the painted look with earthy wood tones. Colorful pots on top finish off the look with a combination of a refined Rookwood jardiniere alongside the duller glazes and varied colors of stacked yellow-ware mixing bowls. The background is a shelf that I'm in the middle of decorating. The shelf is red but I've covered the top with this great vintage contact paper. I found it a long while ago at Goodwill and it had never even been opened. We had some very similar stuff on a cabinet when I was growing up. The rest are wooden plaques that will be paintings, and some paper/drawings/stampings - I may make bookmarks out of them but I've yet to decide.
