Among the many unreleased Off-White x Nike sneakers designed by the late Virgil Abloh is a “Bred” Air Jordan 4s first seen with a group of samples in Abloh’s 2019 “Figures of Speech” exhibit at MCA Chicago.
Pairs of unconfirmed legitimacy show up from time to time on social media, and there’s been speculation that the shoe will drop eventually. Despite the rumors, a Jordan Brand spokesperson tells Complex the “Bred” Off-White x Air Jordan 4 will remain unreleased. The source says the pairs were created in sample form only and that there are no plans to make them available to the public.
While it’s tough to confirm which pairs in the wild are authentic and which aren’t given the shoe’s unreleased status, one that can be safely assumed as legit was recently shared by designer and car connoisseur Arthur Kar. Abloh and Kar were close, with Kar providing vintage vehicles for Off-White’s FW20 show.
This Off-White x Air Jordan 4 takes cues from the original “Bred” (Black/Cement) colorway of the sneaker, memorably worn by Michael Jordan during 1989’s “The Shot” over Craig Ehlo.
While this colorway isn’t planned for a release, Abloh and Jordan Brand released a women’s Off-White x Air Jordan 4 “Sail” collaboration in 2020.
