He was diligent. Happy. In a word, he was happy as he worked. He sang merry songs, and the results of his work were excellent.
Listening to the song Ant, Mr. Stršljen, the director of the company, concluded that the ant has too much fun and does too little, because he does not have the right direction and a boss to control him.
So he hired Bubamara who had extensive management experience. Bubamara's first concern was to organize a record of ants' arrivals and departures to and from work. To this end, it has established a system of incoming and outgoing documents. Over time, the number of documents increased and due to the increased volume of work around the paper they had to hire someone to prepare the papers and reports.
They hired Spider who immediately set up an archiving system and became responsible for taking phone calls as well. And the ant? The ant was still working as before. The reports submitted by Bubamara were extraordinary. Director Hornet was delighted with the reports he received from Bubamara and soon began to demand: comparative studies with charts, analysis of development trends, etc.
In order to satisfy the director's request, it was necessary to hire Hrčak who would be a direct help to the director. They immediately bought him a new computer with a printer. The happy and hardworking ant was still working as before. He only complained that it would be easier for him if he had a computer. They didn't approve of him. This was the first time Ant had complained about something and Director Hornet immediately realized that the quickest response was needed.
He created a new job for the head of the service to oversee a happy and hard-working ant. He hired Cvrček for a new job. Immediately upon his arrival, he replaced all the furniture in his office and on request received an ergonomically designed chair and a new computer with a flat, LCD screen. The number of computers grew and a network server had to be purchased and installed as well. The new head of the service realized that he urgently needed an assistant (who was his assistant in the previous company by the way). And so he hired Bedbug. At the same time, Ant was becoming less and less happy and less and less productive. He searched for the computer again. Again, he was not approved.
The situation with Mrav worried Cvrčka and he concluded that he had to order a study on the satisfaction of the company's employees. He introduced the team to director Strsljen, who understood Cvrcko's explanation and approved the engagement of the agency for those needs. An expensive study was done and Cricket began to apply the proposed motivational methods. He hung motivational posters everywhere. He took Bubamara, Pauka, Hrčak and Stjenica to motivational trainings in famous resorts, etc.… The ant was still, but reluctantly, working. He read motivational messages on posters and could not find superiors when he needed them. They simply either weren’t there or didn’t have time for him. And so time passed. Director Hornet continued to receive his perfect reports on a regular basis but they began to show that the firm was no longer as profitable as before. This worried him deeply and he had to react. He hired the most elite consultant, Mrs. Owl.
Owl's task was to perform a complete analysis of the organization and business of the company and propose solutions to make the company operate profitably. After three months, Ms. Sova submitted the following report to the director: "There are too many employees in the company!". Director Hornet enthusiastically accepted the expert analysis and immediately fired: the ant.
