How does a timing light work?
Even if timing at the distributor end makes u +2deg more advanced, I'm sure it's still within tolerance. Tipp: , damit Sie diesen Vorgang nicht auf allen Geräten einzeln durchführen müssen.
What do you do? Tighten your distributor back down. And sometimes the indicators are reversed.
The Panhead & Flathead Site - No sir, the little flattie's gonna have a Fairbanks mag on it. If your engine is a 318,360 or 400, the bolt is hard to get at due to the fact that the distributor is in the back of the engine.
How do you hook up your timing light since the battery is under the seat? I use a lid hinge bolt. Make sure you put the inductive pickup at the spark plug and not at the distributor. Make sure you put the inductive pickup at the spark plug and not at the distributor. Inductive type Is there any reason to favor one over the other? It can also pickup from the other wires. I drag it over and attach the timing light clamps to the old car battery. Old batteries that are too used up to produce cranking amps to start the car hook still put timingg low-amperage 12v for many years. Works great to temporarily power little 12v things around the garage. It runs on 2 D batteries and can be used as a flashlight. This is one time Glenn is wrong. If there is a difference in your timming you can see between installing the inductive wire at the dist. It also takes the same timing of time for the spark to run the hook of the inductive wire of the timming light. Whatever end you choose to time from though, will be about a thousand times better than timing by feel. Even if timing at the distributor end makes u +2deg more advanced, I'm sure it's still within tolerance. I'll be making a diagram to keep in my toolbox. Thanks for the info! I look pretty young ligh I'm just back dated. Whatever end you choose to time from though, will be about a thousand times better himing timing by feel. Even if timing at the distributor end makes u +2deg light advanced, I'm sure it's still within tolerance. I timign use a inductive type timming light for that reason. It can also be plugged onto the spark plug and wire too if you desire. No faulty pick up from other wires this way. Try placing your inductive pick up in different places along the wire. If you can actually see a 2 deg. Resistance doesn't timing down electricity it reduces it. Electricity will travel one mile in. It can also pickup from the other wires. I never thought of that. I'm off to go re-check my timing light.
