Bellow Metering Pump
- any regulated pump which transfers oil from a storage tank to the burner.
- A metering pump is a pump used to pump liquids at adjustable flow rates which are precise when averaged over time. Delivery of fluids in precise adjustable flow rates is sometimes called metering.

20101009 Rotte and polder landcape near Rotterdam
This image shows the small river Rotte at Ommoord (part of Rotterdam). This is only 2 km from my home and 7 km form Rotterdam's city centre.
This polder landscape is all bellow sea level (my home is at -5m NAP). The water level in the river is a few meters above the surrounding fields. The water in the small canals is pumped up to keep the land dry.
The white hill on the left is a huge garbage dump that has been converted to a ski training center.
The lake in the background is artificial (Zevenhuizerplas): it is about 2 km2, about 40 million m3 of sand was retrieved from it (mainly for building purposes). It is now a recreation area.
The town behind the lake is a recent extension of Rotterdam: Nesselande. About 10 years ago that location was polder landscape.
