Mirror Lens Sunglasses
- A catadioptric optical system is one where refraction and reflection are combined in an optical system, usually via lenses (dioptrics) and curved mirrors (catoptrics).
- (Mirror Lenses) A pure mirror coating applied to the outside of a lens helps to deflect reflected light from entering the eye. The outside of the lens looks just like a mirror. It is important to know that the wearer does not see the mirror coating from the inside, but only sees the lens tint.

Another shot taken on the borrowed Samyang 500mm f8 mirror lens. This image is probably more typical technically than the tower shot - it lacks sharpness & the contrast had to be increased somewhat. The knack to using these lenses to to take a lot of shots & a few of them will be useable. I took 15 pictures, 3 were worth bothering with. Although this lens has a fixed aperture of f8, its DoF is shallow.
The Guildford branch of LCE were also kind enough to lend me the somewhat larger f6.3 version which I found too unweildy too hand-hold. The smaller lens is delightfully compact & very cheap at ?129.99!
Glasses and Mirrors
I liked those glasses . But now, it is broken :( .
My Brother managed to sit on it in a way that would make the lens would pop out and render the frame useless ..
