The Dionne Quintuplets were a phenomenon in Canada in the 1930's, born to a poor Canadian family, these quintuplets were basically taken away from their parents and raised by doctors. They lived their young lives in the raging storm of the media eye and were, as in this case, used to market products and services. They were involuntary "celebrities" at the time. Their parents were devastated by having their children basically controlled by the government and medical industry. It was a bizarre spectacle that became a national disgrace. That and the seal hunt.
