Anime Movies - The Secret World of Arrietty

utorak , 30.09.2014.

A story about growing up and life from two different perspectives. It was really interesting to see the world from Arrietty's perspective where everything is so big and dangerous. Small creatures which we take for granted pose a threat in their everyday lives, not to mention humans. The unusual friendship between Arrietty and Sho was really sweet. The little people stories were part of Sho's family for generations and the doll house that was made especially for them was really something special. This movie was full of wishes they wanted to become reality, secret friendship, emotions and dealing with reality of things. All in all, a really nice movie with an enjoyable and little bit sad story, but worth watching.

Genres: Adventure, Drama, Fantasy

Sho moves into his great aunt's house and soon discovers the
presence of tiny people, the Borrowers, living there. A 14-year-old
Borrower named Arrietty strives to prove herself by helping her father
gather materials that her family needs from Sho's new home. However,
Arrietty and Sho meet, breaking the rule that humans must not know about
the Borrowers' existence. As Sho and Arrietty's relationship develops,
human interference endangers the Borrowers' lives. Arrietty and Sho work
together to try and protect the Borrowers' way of life.

Anime Special! - Princess Princess

ponedjeljak , 15.09.2014.

Princess Princess is an older anime (from 2006), but still interesting to watch. It's a lot different from Gakuen Heaven which I was watching earlier. Although both stories are at all boys high schools the similarities end there. This story is about two and later three (when Tooru transferred in) first year guys who are half forced, half willing cosplaying as princesses at their school to keep the good moral for other students. Mikoto, Yuu and Tooru are not just princesses to other students, but also a high motivation in their school activites & are always swamped with some kind of cheering or events. Mikoto is always protesting against being a princess but the job has a lot of privileges so he keeps at it; he's also the only one that has a girlfriend LOL. To top it all off those three also have personal, family related problems they are going through. Princess Princess is a really fun, relaxing and occasionally emotional anime which you'll enjoy watching even though the story is a "bit" unusual.

Genres: comedy, drama

Themes: bishounen, cross dressing, crossdressing, school, shounen-ai

When beautiful Tooru transferred to an all-boys school, he received a warm welcome...but little did he know that his new classmates had nominated him for the academy's "Princess System." The lovely campus "Princesses" must dress as girls (in frilly Gothic Lolita costumes) at school events in order to lighten the stolid masculine atmosphere. Tooru balks at first, but soon comes to realize the advantages of being a "Princess."

Anime Movies - Naruto Shippuuden 5: Blood Prison

utorak , 09.09.2014.

I'm a bit behind with this one, but better late than never. It was just amazing to see how fast his shinobi friends turned on him. Also, it was pretty naive since they all know Naruto very well. His attempted escapes from that prison were nice to watch even though they were kinda clumsy. The prison itself was very interesting indeed since it held lots of intriguing secrets. The final standoff between Naruto and that flying monster was indeed enjoyable to watch which just proves my point that Naruto movies are pretty awesome with interesting stories and lots of action. I must also add that surprise appearance of his friends was really nice and it just boosted the usual friendship values that Naruto series often emphasized.

All in all, Naruto Shippuuden TV anime series would seriously benefit from a story like the one in this movie. I just had to compare it to the series since it was a pleasure watching this movie unlike the series which are more fillers and beating around the bush than what they were actually supposed to be; action filled and interesting!

Anime Special! - .hack//Liminality

četvrtak , 04.09.2014.

This is actually an OVA of of the original .hack//SIGN that has only 4 episodes and each of them has a different title, but the same topic. The order of episodes are: Infection, Mutation, Outbreak & Quarantine with the mutual name Liminality. The story this time follows players & people around them who are outside of the game and are watching what is happening. "The World" (that's the name of the game) is starting to affect reality and the borders of real world & "The World" are becoming blurred. Once again players are being trapped by the game but this time a group of people gets together to discover what is really going on. The main problem again was the creators' wish to make a prefect AI which backfired when the sub program blocked it's release because it got too smart. Liminality OVA's finally explain the outsider's view of the game and it's influence on reality on a much bigger level. Interesting to watch and a good sequel to .hack//SIGN.

In the year 2007, an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) known as 'The World' is released in the US and becomes insanely popular, spreading worldwide and reaching up to 20 million players. One day, a mysterious phenomenon occurs where all the monsters in the game become increasingly powerful and harbour otherwise unheard of abilities. Along with this, players are unable to make any progress with their characters. Naturally, these occurrences render The World rather unplayable, so a player who goes by the name of Kite decides to get to the bottom of it.

The story follows three girls, Mai Minase, Yuki Aihara, and Kyoko Tohno, and a former CC Corp. director of the Japanese version of The World, Junichiro Tokuoka. They investigate as to why several people have fallen into a coma while playing the game. The first three episodes centers on one of the girls, but in episode four, it centers on all characters.
