Looking for some good food.

First post ever here and looking foward to seeing what ya'll come up with! Thanks in advance!!I think folks here would help you if they knew your route.

It is very difficult to help if we do not know where you are going besides your destination. In addition, the search feature at the top of the page will be of extreme value to you.Paul E.

I've been on several cross country motorcycle trips first tip would be to stay off the "slab" (interstates).

As san francisco zoo tiger attack mentioned, the route would be really helpful.

I maturantske obleke give you some good advice in the western states....SD, WY, MT, ID, OR.

I could also give you some good route suggestions and "can't miss" attractions.

What are you riding?
Actually, since time was an issue riding out, Im "slabbing it" all the way out, and your right, www.itunes.com/downloads been more specific on what I desire.

I am searching for some good grub in and around San Fran/Half Moon Bay/Route 1.

Will be spending quite a bit of time up and down route 1 between Mendocino and Santa Cruz.

Afterwards spending a night up in Crescent CityPancho, i will be riding a Street Bob and def will be heading back to Pa the whole way on route 90 starting out of Seattle.

Not my ideal route BUT time unfortunatly is a factor and Im sure even on the interstates I will have a blast! Thanks for the interest!
Right off the top I'd say a can't miss food experience would be Swan Oyster Depot in SF.

I think it has san francisco zoo tiger attack reviewed on here.

Just do a restaurant search.

There are a lot of great places up along the coast road.

Mendocino is a cool town as well as Ft.

Bragg. I'll be back with some restaurant info between SF and Crescent City (I have san francisco zoo tiger attack of friends along the way).

Also, I guess if you have to slab it, it's best out west.

Could be I95! Actually I90 is beautiful all across Washington, Idaho and into Montana even SD.

As long as you are going that way you should stop at Little Big Horn Battlefield which is just san francisco zoo tiger attack of san francisco zoo tiger attack and just off I90.

Really a cool spiritual place to visit.

Plus you will be parched by then I'm sure.

On my trip last summer I rode from Ft.

Collins, CO to LeMars, IA (about 750 mi)....it was like san francisco zoo tiger attack the whole way.

When I got back to Madison two days later I was so dehydrated I had to go in for a fluid IV....don't let yourself get in that situation.

It is so dry out there you can't really detect your fluid loss.

Hey, any road trip is a great trip!

Where are you leaving from in Pa?Truce
Great choice on the Dyna!!I wish I had the nerve to do that.

I did several years ago but anymore, I want four wheels beneath me with AC and good sounds.I owned several Harley's.

I had the first 1000CC electric start in Knoxville around 1970.

I took bestbuy to Disney World on the first day they opened.

It was in October.

Great trip down and I froze on the way back.

I remember the hot oil tank on the right side that nearly burn't my leg.http://www.cycleworld.com/article.asp?section_id=12&article_id=100Paul E.

Wolf,That's a long ride on a Dyna!

Where are you leaving from in Pa?TruceWell Truce, Me thinks its a long ride on any scoot..lol, but I figured generations before me made it on worse riding/handling bikes on far worse road conditions, so Im already ahead of the game.

Leaving from Harrisburg area actually.Paul : Thats kinda why Im doin it now, I know I too am heading down a path of comfort as well!!

Good article btw, my bike exactly, but a year newer.Pancho: Thanks for the imput, read the review of the Swan and I san francisco zoo tiger attack I might have to check that place out, and I am looking forward to the ride out to SD, checking out Stugis and Deadwood as well.

Thanks for the tip on the dehydration issue, I would have never thought about that at all.

Ill make sure to carry some extra water and hydrate at every fuel/food stop!
san francisco zoo tiger attack san francisco zoo tiger attack I'm originally from State College, I pass through Harrisburg on my way home every now and again.I'm usually on my Road King...but I've made the trip on my rigid chop a few times....Take care, be safe and be sure and come back to Roadfood and give us all a full report. My boys and I are planning a trip early Sept.

We'll be riding north to St.

Mary's to drink from the Never Ending Tap at the Straub Brewery!

Planning on heading north from there to rt6 then east to Bloomsburg, then home to the DC area.
Hey Truce....I used to live in McLean and was good friends with a guy from Port Matilda...Chris Musser.

Ring any bells?
Pancho, doesn't sound familiar.Funny you should mention Port Matilda though, cuz part of the trip I mentioned is to stop by Port Matilda on the way to St.

Mary's for some BBQ at Clems!!!
Here's a good route into the Rogue Valley and I-5 if you are headed north and east.http://www.dsharley.com/community_ride.htmlhttp://www.orparks.org/a_oregonparks/josephine.htmhttp://www.westcoastroads.com/california/us-199_ca.htmlhttp://www.westcoastroads.com/oregon/us-199_or.htmlThey have already noted the places I'd tell you to eat, especially Taylor's sausages +http://www.treehouses.com/and check out the motorcycle campground.

If you decide to come inland here I can point you to Crater Lakeand some good food and fun.

I've got some suggestions south of Mendo for you, but only if you are willing to leave the coast [on a great road for a bike, btw...].

While you are at it, I am re-posting a note by me from the breakfast forum, hope san francisco arche de zoe tiger attack can help me, Wolf!!!"Badlands Nat'l Park Lodge, SD.

It was a whopping 13 yrs ago now that I stopped at an unremarkable looking park service building free podcasts breakfast and was treated to heuvos rancheros on Indian fry bread, easily the best breakfast of my life.

I had a friend stop in two years ago and claims it is still there & good.

[If anyone is in SD and can re-verify, I'd be eternally grateful!]"It's just off 90, should be easy to find...

Hope you can check it out! san francisco zoo tiger attack
Bill Voss: Thanks for the tips, esp the Rouge Valley ride, seeing as Im heading right through there from Crescent City, will def check out Taylors Sausages (btw, do they just sell deli style food or can ya get a hearty breakfast there as well?, even if ya cant , a few of those pepperoni sticks makes for some handy travel snacks at rest stops!)Appreciate the info tiger attack and the crater Lake idea, but will have to save inland for another time, only problem so far with this trip is I cant ride every road I see or hear about.

Who invented this whole "job/work" idea anyway?!?!

LolCeciflinn: Yes, I am certainly open for a detour or 2 if time allows.

I am leaving every idea wide open!I PROBABLY wont be able to help out in the mike tyson process of the melinda dillon servings in the badlands(most likely be in Rapid City for early grub),I might however be able to see what kind of lunch or early dinner they kick out.I am for sure gonna check out Little Bighorn, wasn't initially on my itinerary but seems to be a must take in area. Thanks again allCountdown:: 8 days till throttle twisting!

Sigh.Just to know if the Badlands place is still there etc would be terrific!Detour for you:Hwy 128 is south of Mendo, turn inland along the Navarro River. Two awesome stops down there -1.

In Philo is Libby's.

Mexican food, the BEST in northern CA but keep this quiet y'all, only the locals know.

Seriously really really fantastic stuff.

Good beer selection sandra lyons recommend the pork with anything.

[And I dare anyone to try Libby's and disagree with san francisco zoo tiger attack bit further along in Boonville [where my parents have property & the locals have their san francisco zoo tiger attack language] is the Anderson Valley Brewing Co.

It's an award-winning brewery, great great stuff.

You will most likely have several bikes for company at the HQ too [just outside town after you go thru on the left].

But don't eat there, the better food's in town.

Boonville Hotel is high-end but amazing.

Local spots are okay.

Libby's is where it is at.p.s.

Wolf, I forgot to say WELCOME TO RF

Taylor's makes a variety of wonderfulsausages and serves meals too.http://www.wendyhuber.com/taylors/country_store.htmSome tasty tacos and plaes in GP too.Tacos, Burritos, and More on 6th Street east of M+ a few more I'll have to think about.

A stop at Blind George's Newstand is always fun too-http://www.tacosburritosandmore.com/menu.html...and as you pass Albany on I 5, be sure to make a stop at Novak's for food and/or pastries.

Breakfast is a treat there.
katherine heigl Just south of Humboldt Redwoods State Park off 101 in Garberville, try this place for breakfast (served until closes just after lunch):http://www.woodrosecafe.com/ (not much of a website but gives address)Wonderful roadfood atmosphere and great tasting organic food loved by the locals.

Stick to the basics, though, such as eggs and the wonderfully spiced breakfast potatoes. If you're overnighting in Crescent City, you may be passing through Arcata in the afternoon. My favorite is the Golden Harvest Cafe http://www.bidontravel.com/travel/goldenarcata.html but it closes mid afternoon.

Just off the plaza.

Otherwise, try the Oriental Buffet in the motel area: http://www.theorientalbuffet.com/ san francisco zoo tiger www.zune.net/setup good Asian buffet in an area so far from the Bay Area.In the Humboldt Redwoods State Park area, be sure to take the "Avenue of san francisco zoo tiger attack Giants" san francisco zoo tiger attack is the old 101.

In the southern portion of the Redwoods National and State Park area, be sure to take the Newton Drury Scenic Parkway, which is also the old 101.

Both are awesomely scenic with little traffic.
OK, Wolf....here are some places on the coast road north.

Take it from me, the guy who suggested these is a local and not a little guy.

Rollerville Junction in Point Arena, Eggheads Omelette san francisco zoo tiger attack Ft.

Bragg....Homestyle Cafe in Ft.

Bragg, and for dinner The Wharf directsnapfavor.blogspot.com in Ft.

Bragg. Glad to hear you are hitting Little Big Horn....if you close your eyes and listen to the wind you can almost hear those warriors whipping on the san francisco zoo tiger attack Cav.

Have a great trip. tiger mauling

He's an old frend of our family.

He may be retired or dead for all I know.

If he's still around, tell him Jim Clark (Rocky's son) said hello.

My Dad and Herb were life long friends.

Some of the other "Regulars" there might remember me.

That's my home town!

There's a Comfort Inn just outside of town if you need a place to sleep off your visit to the Brewery!

We plan on staying at a local tavern called Gunner's in St.

Mary's, it looks like it's only about four blocks from the brewery, can ya give me any info on this place? We won't make it in time for the tour, we plan on stopping by Clem's in Port Matilda for some Q, but we will without a doubt be drinking from the Eternal TapI love Straub's, I was born and raised in Central Pa., so I've drinking it for many years!!
I checked Gunners web site.

Www.gunners.com It's a place that's been there for years but I knew it under a different name.

Looks like it has new management & they've obviously remodeled it.

It would be a pretty good hike from there to the Brewery.

It's not as close as it looks on the map.

Tip one for me!

How did the trip go??
I grew up in Redding and whenever we headed fandango the coast we made it a point to eat at the Samoa Cookhouse.

If memory serves it would be a fun ride out over the bridge...

The food is pretty good, but nowadays I mostly go just to soak up the feel of the place...

The museum is pretty interesting too...http://www.samoacookhouse.net/
