I gotta give points to instruments that are portable (pan flute is the most of the three though folks will argue that all are portable) and those that can be played at any hour (like the flute or acoustic).
You can play an electric guitar at low volume or with headphones but an acoustic is really nice at the campground with your friends or romantic interest.Of course, I also think there are way too many guitarists in the world and that's why I married a bass player.

Acoustic Guitar has benefits later on in your guitar hero 3 cheats if your good at it.But yea pan flute would be nice and very unique.
Oh and I play drums.
I started out on kit but then got really into West African and now that's pretty much all I play.
Though I'd like to get back into noodling around on the kit when I can.
I think I'm going to go with pan flute for now.

If you ever want to play guitar, start with an acoustic.
