In only ten months, the talented quintet of Somastate has experienced a quick rise to becoming one of the best local acts in Calgary. With their heavy guitar-driven, hook-laden sound and a HUGE LIVE SHOW, replete with continuous motion that even the largest stage cannot contain, Somastate delivers an impassioned product that both entertains and inspires.

Somastate is just putting the finishing touches on their debut CD Release titled Reversals with their Single, Wrapped Around a Bullet set to be released to Radio in September 2007. Having owned the room at both Supernova Band on the Run, as well as Coyotes Battle of the Bands, it is not surprising that they were also selected from among countless others to perform on Warped Tour this year in Calgary. In addition to playing the main stage at Albertas Own Independent Music Festival, they have shared the stage with bands such as Throwdown, My American Heart, and Canadian stalwarts 54-40.

Now to the music. Whether it is the ethereal guitar playing reminiscent of A Perfect Circle or the memorable choruses found in Dave Grohls Foo Fighters, its not hard to see that the music extends past typical rock boundaries. Appealing to those on either side of the spectrum, Somastate couples a fresh perspective with an unforgettable sound.

It wont be long before the name Somastate is escaping the lips of music lovers the world over.
